Is Rod Meredith Ensuring His Children's Inheritance?

From a comment on the Glen Gilchrist posting:

"...do you think LCG emphasized government so much because of what UCG and COGWA went through last year?"

No. LCG emphasizes government because that is how Rod Meredith can force his sheeple to accept his sons as his rightful heirs to the throne, passing over so many other more senior men. Of course, this doesn't work for everyone. I have heard that LCG's income dropped sharply after Rod appointed his son Jim as his #2, and that it dropped even more after Rod baptized his son David and gave him a cushy HQ job. Lots of people in LCG are disgusted by Rod's blatant nepotism, and by his growing trail of lies, and there may even be a church split because of it. Rod may end up with a cult smaller than Flurry's, but it will still be a nice inheritance to leave to his children, saving them from having to do another honest day of work as long as they live

I have a suggestion for Roderick Meredith as his eyesight continues to deteriorate from diabetes and his memory becomes totally shot from dementia: He should send his kids to Police Academy 7 where they can gain the skills to sign on with the County Sheriff.

This will make them qualified to be REAL Guards to maintain order in the LCG prison.

It also has the upside that whenever the members don't toe to the line in the group, they can go out and really arrest the Prisoners of their little group, thereby maintain order according to the Precepts of The Stanford Experiment as performed by Psychologist Philip Zimbardo, described in his book, The Lucifer Effect and amply illustrated in the German subtitled movie Das Experiment [Warning: Scenes from the movie contain graphic violence which may be inappropriate for some viewers... No, Wait! The LCG already has graphic violence and murders, just like the movie! Never mind! You can take it!]

I was always amazed by this phenomenon in WCG experience. Surely one the big lessons should have been to watch the father/son thing and part of "never again." Then alongs come Joe and pulls Joe Jr in and he ends up in charge forever.

Amazing to me a proof of the insincerity of the group. It's a family enterprise once it gets going. Shuller did it. Swaggart did it. Graham did it. etc. I guess it's what one does!

This is confusing. Didn't Dr. M. designate Richard Ames as his successor -- I assume with the approval of LCG's top elders?

I'll take a shot at answering-

Perhaps Dr. M's ames was a little off, so he scoped out something something closer.

Why not? It's all bogus anyway, so why not bequeath it to your sons? At least that helps make the bogussness more obvious for the benefit of the casual observer.

It's not clear that narcissists can be successful in handing a legacy over to their children.

Logic suggests that the result will be less than productive.

I think what makes it more effective is that his entrenched cultified participants are not casual observers.

Well, that logic has been certainly unproductive for Mark Armstrong and Joe Tkach Jr. Both lead shrinking churches.

Meredith and Flurry's cults will be the next to shrink into oblivion once the big cheeses die and the Junior's take over.

I must admit that Dr. Meredith does favor 'the Penguin.' Good choice.
