I've been communicating with a pastor from the LCG in Africa. I tell him, "I don't obey the Law of Moses and can explain to you why. You claim to obey the Law of Moses, but don't and can't explain why. I ask, "How long are your tassels on your clothing? Have you stoned anyone recently for breaking the Sabbath? Do you destroy cookware that comes in contact with anything unclean? Do you observe the Feast of Dedication? Jesus did. Why don't you. I think he has come to see how the inconsistency of his beliefs. Can you think of other inconsistencies in their teaching?

The truth: Roderick Meredith would never say that. It's more like something GCI would say.

Douglas you have to remember that ALL of the splinter cult ministers act like this. They think they have the new and improved ways of understanding scripture. They all pick and choose what they want to keep and what they want to ignore. Meredith does this just like Flurry and all the other morons.

Philip, what you say is absolutely true: Armstrongists are full of themselves, don't listen to anyone else and hold their eccentric but heretical opinions as doctrine.

That said, the specifics of the video don't match up with Roderick Meredith's opinions made truth -- that's all I'm saying -- although, come to think of it, that's a mighty narrow distinction.

If it were to be applied to Meredith and the Armstrongists, Jesus could be speaking to love and forgiveness and Meredith could be talking about law, control and punishment. That would make it more on point to be more specific to Meredith himself. Moreover, it is well within our experience that Meredith would disagree with Jesus on many points were he to travel back in time and confront Christ. Fortunately, no one knows if we can even travel back in time... it seems unlikely, the Philadelphia experiment notwithstanding.
