What Is Living Church of God Doing For Turkey Earthquake Victims?

Living Church of God has had a long track record of never helping any people outside of the COG in the event of any major disaster.  It is not their problem because God will be giving those people another chance later on. Besides, we need to funnel our resources into getting God's word out as a final warning.  Valuable resources would be consumed if we helped people.

On their latest Tomorrow's World, News and Prophecy e-Zine they make the following comment on how we are to mourn and care for those afflicted.  I can guarantee you right now that LCG is NOT doing anything for the people of Turkey who are suffering through this earthquake.  No money has been sent, no supplies, NOTHING, zilch!  If there is any money sent at all it will be for what few, if any, LCG members who may be living there. Not for anyone else, but for them only.  I also doubt very much if any of them will even pray or mourn for them because we all know that Muslims are outside the bounds of God's mercy.  At least in hard line Armstrongism.

Just for once, I would love to see LCG practice what it preaches!  Will Dr. Thiel be sending money to help these people?  Will he offer prayers and links for assistance on his blog?  I certainly will NOT be holding my breath for that to happen!

Jesus admonished His disciples that they should mourn and care for those who are afflicted (Matthew 5:4). He also prophesied that as we approach the end of the age, there will be "earthquakes in various places" and other natural disasters (Matthew 24:7). Bible prophecies indicate that the increasing frequency and severity of these traumatic events will be the "beginning of sorrows" that will mark the imminent return of Jesus Christ to this earth (Matthew 24:8).

Living stopped supporting the Hill People in Thailand, so their end is far worse than if they had never encountered the Armstrongist Churches of God.

Last word is that you wouldn't even know there was a community and school there.

Proverbs was right, you know: The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Why should the Living Church of GOd continue to drain money down a rabbit hole by supporting these pagans? Their entire lives are rooted in paganism and no amount of English classes or money will convert these people to the truth. That is all up to God. The Church did it's part years ago and stopped because of the rotten fruit it attracted. God will either work with these people in the second resurrection or he won't. I don't care, they are in God's hands now.

Earthquakes are a fact of life, but are in creasing in numbers as God allows Satan to unleash his powers on GOd's peopel. Get over it.

Just as useless as it was trying to do good for the hill tribes in Thailand it would be equally as useless to help out pagan Muslims in Turkey.

Their false religion is demonic to the core. They will be the King of the South and will be God's instruments in bringing into fruition the tribulation.

God's people will be protected, but the blasphemers of Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Meredith and the Church of God will not. You will deserve everything that will happen to you. I laugh at your demons!

I need to stop responding to Anonymous because it breaks my #1 Law:

I don't care

Anyone want to tell me what fruit of the Spirit that one is?

I believe Dave Pack might recommend that members go thru the pockets of the dead and 'Send it in to do the Work,"?

Wow, those two "Anonymous" comments are very telling about the spirit that leads COG members. I am glad to be out if only to be able to help those less fortunate than myself.

Those of us in the Living Church of God know that God protects us from earthly calamities. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and floods have been diverted because Living members or the Church headquarters was in the path. God uses the Church and it's members as a witness to the world and to our neighbors. When they see our homes spared during tornado's and other calamities they are led to ask, "why was your house spared and ours was not?" That gives us the opportunity to be a witness for God's Truth and to possibly lead them into the Truth.

Getting back to the original question, if LCG is acting according to the model for such things as laid down by HWA, probably announcements are being made in their sabbath services admonishing members to pray for the safety of any of these Turks who happen to be LCG members. That'll be the extent of their involvement.

Other Christians, such as the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the Crouches of TBN fame, and probably the Robison organization, will be shipping supplies, medicines, drinking water, clothing, and other necessities to Turkey, and will be putting volunteers at ground zero who can assist victims and counsel them to help them to understand and get through these events with the help of Jesus Christ. While such Christ-like events are transpiring, unfolding, and resulting in a substantial harvest, ACOG members around the world will be reciting their mantra: "Let the dead bury the dead".

We'll be able to see who the true followers of Jesus Christ actually are based on comparative behavioral patterns, namely by whose behavior follows the models presented in the Beatitudes, the Sermon on the Mount, and the parable of the Good Samaritan. So, you might say the ACOGs will be giving their testimony in all this. Observers will be able to readily discern what spirit motivates them. Bad news for ACOGs every time a disaster occurs, because they have been programmed by false teachers to fail the test!

Seriously? So God chooses to protect LCG from "earthly calamities" but not from man-made (or self-inflicted) ones like Milwaukee?
