Apostle Malm Admitting He is A False Prophet?

The apostle writes today pretty damning words about himself.  Malm has set himself up as an end times spokesman for warning the church.  He is just one more in a long line of over 700 men  (and a couple of women) that have come and gone in Armstrongism who have all claimed the same thing.  So far these hundreds of men and women have all been proven false.  Liars all.

In light of that I find Malm's description below for false prophets a perfect description of himself.  God certainly has had no part in setting up Malm as a man to warn the church or the world.

And a false prophet is someone who decides for himself to stand up and speak and to presumptuously declare that his word;, his own words, his own ideas, his own thoughts;  are the word of God. He is presumptuously saying, my words are God’s word. He stands up and says, this is God speaking to you today through me. And then he proceeds to lie in the name of the Lord.

This is an abomination to God because it casts disrepute upon God. When people begin believing this man represents God and all the while he’s lying and deceiving the people.

A false prophet is an abomination. A presumptuous man who says that he is speaking the words of God, when God has not sent him and he is speaking his own words, not the words of God. And he is telling people to do things contrary to the word of God. And he is leading the people about and away from God and toward his own beliefs, his own perspectives, his own positions, his own traditions and his own ideas and is not focusing them on God. This person is an appalling abomination to God.

Remember how HWA always used to flap his hog jowls and trumpet, "Brethren, God is not the author of confusion!" usually as a prequel to some legalistic authoritarian BS he had a bug up his butt about?

Well, oddly enough, now that I read the Bible without Armstrong filters, I've become aware of quite a number of miraculous cases in which God used confusion to thwart His enemies!

What word could you possibly use to describe what has taken place with the Armstrong movement other than confusion? I think there should be a lesson somewhere in that for someone! Sadly, none of the leaders believe it applies personally to themselves.

Mr. Malm's subconscious doubts about his own credibility are bubbling to the surface it seems.

This may the first time he's got it right!

If you read more than just this excerpt, he is actually trying to explain the difference between a true prophet and a false prophet, and let you know that he is a true prophet. Unfortunately it's really difficult to explain what a false prophet is without unwittingly describing himself. I'm sure there's nothing significant about that though...(sarcasm, sorry)

James Malm's writings indicate that he practically considers hypocrisy to be a virtue, while he rails against those who interpret the Bible differently than he does.

But, ironically, he could become even more rabidly hypocritical if he'd only follow the example of many many of the influential mainstream Christian preachers he condemns.

What mainstream preachers does he rail against? I thought he felt he was sent by god only to COGs. And since he takes pleasure in the thought of everyone in the COGs besides himself (and those acolytes who jump at the chance to attend one of his feast sites) as going directly to TLOF, why would he even bother mentioning those vile Sunday keepers? They're surely a hopeless case. He'd burn them sooner than shake their hands and say hello. (I'm sure we're even worse!)

In the bible, there were other prophets besides prophets of god, especially prophets of Baal. How does one discern whether some guy is a true prophet of Baal or a false prophet of Baal? Malm really should not have neglected to cover this very common biblical case.

What Malm should have said was:

"Even if what a person says is true, if god has not sent him, then he is still not a prophet of god, period. And thus, if a man explicitly claims to be a prophet of god, or else does so implicitly by attempting to perform the job of a prophet, but god has not sent that man, then he is a false prophet, period. The only way a person can be a true prophet of god is if god sends them, period.

No matter who you are, or what you believe, this will always be true. I happen to believe that neither god nor Baal exist, so neither or them ever sent anybody, so every prophet is a false prophet, yes, even the Prophet Malm. I know, hard to believe, right? Anyway, this is much a much easier and succinct rule than Malm's long-winded b******t.

Iirc, there was a recent blog entry discussing Malm writing about how "those vile Sunday keepers" actually worship the sun god Tammuz(and thus, Satan).
I think he considers Sunday keepers "the worst of the worst" and quite hopeless, so he concentrates more on trying to "help" those in the COGs.
Unlike Ron Weinland, James Malm seems sincere(however deluded), and I'm not sure he delights in thinking other COGers will go to the Lake of Fire.

I could be wrong, though, and maybe all of Malm's blustering is just his way of expressing anger toward his x-wife!

The belief systems of the ACOGs seems to foster a hardness of heart towards those outside of their doctrinal system. In other words, there are dual sets of ethics, much the same as practiced by strict Jews, who have one set of very wonderful standards for dealing with their own, and another reprehensible system for dealing with Goyim.

I'm still having a difficult time getting over the comments made by that Frank who seems to be from PCG! It seems as if he would be ecstatic if bears or eagles did come out and attack those who disagree with him, and his attitude seems to be one of joyousness with regard to TLOF. Quite honestly, if ACOG versions of Jonestown do ever materialize, Frank is probably one of the ones whom the Flurries would call forward to ask God's blessing on one of their stonings. I hope God will soften up his heart and make him realize what he has allowed himself to believe in before it is too late!

BB,

You wrote: "The belief systems of the ACOGs seems to foster a hardness of heart towards those outside of their doctrinal system..."

The ACOGs, including James Malm, don't agree with the Apostle Paul's words:

"Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." Romans 7:17

Even when Paul repeated it for emphasis, they still don't believe and won't apply it to themselves while they apply it to everyone else:

"Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." Romans 7:20

Basically, what James Malm is telling us is this:

"Your sin is vile, evil, wretched and if you don't repent and be like me, then you will go to hell, the lake of fire, or something similar, but My sin is okay."

James Malm cannot see inside himSELF, but he sure knows how to look at others and judge and blame them for the sins he sees in their lives.

Again, he is basically saying, "My sin is okay, but your sin gets you into hell!"

And yes it is a hard-hearted attitude that strives to beat on us while he and ACOGs refuse to first remove the huge "Redwood Tree," or "Sand truck" from his/their own eyes...

They think they're earning their salvation, somehow impressing God, with their own works of self, self-righteousness.

It's as though they never read and/or believed the following verses:

"Knowing that a man is NOT justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and NOT by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall NO flesh be justified." Galatians 2:16

And

Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
:9 "NOT of works, lest any man should boast."

Maybe James is just chronically Malmcontent, like all the "great" poets. LOL
