Living Church of God: First It Was The Mayans, Then The Catholics, Now It's Obama

Bob Thiel, the official spokesman for the Living Church of God and it's teachings, has written another book.  This one is about President Obama.  Armstrongism has always aligned itself politically to the right. So it is no shock to see Thiel, Meredith and Flurry speaking against Obama.

So just where is Naturopath Bob getting all of his information from that he presents in his book?

Citing Islamic, Kenyan, Catholic, Byzantine, and Bible prophecy, as well as the writings of Nostradamus

All sources that the supposedly the "true Church of God" consider pagan to the core.  Well at least most of the other COG's.  Living apparently now endorses Nostradamus. Nostradamus certainly cannot have a worse track record than Rod Meredith does when it comes to prophecy.  I say go for it!

Shortly after announcing my latest book Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States Tuesday, it became number one on Kindle for its category (Christianity: Theology: Eschatology/Prophecy).   This is a 160 page book for people truly interested in prophecies related to Barack Obama and the United States, including learning about many predictions that have already been fulfilled (which the book documents in detail) and those that will be fulfilled in the future. It also has a chapter about Mitt Romney. This book is available to order at www.barackobamaprophecy.com for US$9.98.

This book explains about how, by virtue of his background and policies, Barack Obama is fulfilling, and will continue to help fulfill, various prophecies that will lead to the destruction of the United States.

Not intended as an anti-Democratic nor pro-Republican book, “Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States” also tells the truth about Mitt Romney and why his possible election would also lead to destruction.  It answers questions such as “Is Barack Obama apocalyptic?” and “Is Barack Obama the Antichrist?”  Citing Islamic, Kenyan, Catholic, Byzantine, and Bible prophecy, as well as the writings of Nostradamus and others, “Barack Obama, Prophecy, and the Destruction of the United States” explains from many source where, why, when, and even some of how, the various aspects of destruction will come.

  2. Barack Obama, Islamic Prophecy, and 2013-2015

There's so much wrong with this, I'm speechless.

Wrong. Just wrong.

Maybe later.

HAHAHAHAHA.

What a strange little fellow he must be.

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised that Bob Thiel would pander to the tabloid-minded masses in such an obvious way.

I also guess I shouldn't be surprised that Rod Meredith should effectively preach out of both sides of his mouth by railing against this type of paganism for so many decades, while allowing his mouthpiece, Bob Thiel, to embrace it as though it were canonical gospel.

This is probably the biggest bowel movement of the month.

Wonder if the government will notice and investigate Thiel.

Complete incompetent.

This is one LCG member who does not agree with Thiel's works and teachings. It is appalling that the Church and Mr. Meredith hold him in such high regard. I have a feeling Thiel is going to end up being our own embarrassing version of Waterhouse and Hoeh.

Bob Thiel has really gone weird on us. What makes people struggle so hard to say they predicted the future? Why is it all such a puzzle that needs to be solved? Why is it all such a mystery that needs decoding?

Is this an ego thing where one wants to show the world they know what cannot really be known and understand what really needs no further understanding?

Bob Thiel makes no different prophecies than economists do on King World News, The Max Keiser Report or Alex Jones and they don't use a Bible. He points out no better political goings on and predictions than Mike Rivero of WhatReallyHappend or Rense.com.

Why does the Eternal play such games with sons of men?

Bob should include a free prophecy decoder ring with his books. These can be made of Thielite and turn various colors when you ask it Bible questions. Or maybe a ring with a Mayan Calendar on it that has the bezels you can turn to get the right answers.

I'm thinking LCG could make some bucks off selling the Bob Thiel Prophetic Eight Ball, like the ones we had as kids that said stuff like "It is so." "Ask again later," and "definately no."

On the other hand, Art Mokarow has already solved God's puzzle so why do we need any more understanding?

I'm puzzled. Someone decode me!

"Living Church of God: First It Was The Mayans, Then The Catholics, Now It's Obama"

Some people have prediction addiction and will listen to any prophecy from anywhere.

This is a good thing.

It makes the Churches of god look like a collection of kooks.

Which it is.

From the Presiding Evangelist

Dear Fellow Servants of Christ,

An important matter has just come that I want to alert all of you faithful servants of Christ about. It involves Dr. Robert Thiel. While Dr. Thiel has declared himself to be a loyal member of the Living Church of God and has helped us in many ways with interesting ideas, suggestions and personal help, we do feel it is important for all of you to know that he is not our official “spokesman” in any way. He has written a number of things with which we do not agree.

Dr. Thiel has just published a highly speculative book about President Obama much of which we do not agree with. So it is important that all of you realize that—although I love Dr. Thiel personally—it is vital that each of you brethren check out carefully and prove to yourself whether any of his writings are valid if you read them. Although he has not stated it as such, some of our brethren may have assumed that Dr. Robert Thiel is an “official” spokesman for the Church on many matters. We want you to fully understand that this is not so. He is not in our employ, nor does he officially represent us in any way. So although we continue to wish him well, we do want everyone to know that when it comes to some of his unusual writings or concepts, they must stand on their own and not be represented as something from the Living Church of God. If you have questions about this matter, please counsel with your own local faithful Living Church of God minister.

In these difficult times, let us all be careful to “prove all things” and be sure where we stand before God. Also, we certainly want to love and forgive one another and keep working together in every way we can to accomplish the great mission Christ has set before us. Thank you for your understanding, your prayers and your loyalty.

With Christian love,
Roderick C. Meredith

In this case, "prove all things" is meaningless, since you can't prove the future.

Assistant Coffee Maker, you know how to spin a great yarn.

Unfortunately, your letter missed the mark. Dr. Thiel is a video group host for LCG, which is an "official" position, though a minor one. Spanky has praised Dr. Bob in front of LCG ministers, gloating over how he can "have it both ways" by keeping Dr. Bob as his personal "attack dog" against other groups, while keeping him in "unofficial" status. The reason people consider Dr. Bob to be Spanky's spokesman is that Spanky himself has portrayed him in that way.

So even Spanky couldn't get away with being such a hypocrite as to write the letter you have proposed. Nice try, though!

Typical doublespeak. Meredith acknowledges that Bob Thiel is his official spokesman on SOME matters, but not on MANY matters. So, where's the playbook telling us how to figure out which is which?

It is interesting how this may actually be the first time that Meredith has admitted that Thiel is LCG's official spokesman on some matters. By how he has chosen to distance himself from Thiel's Obama book, Meredith has actually more than ever acknowledged his close tie to Thiel on other matters.

I'm happy to see that Jesus has usurped so many pagan methods of divination, to make them Holy.

I'm looking forward to Thiel's next blockbuster book-

"The PLAIN TRUTH about Alectryomancy: Pecking Chickens PROVE my Prophecies(as long as the chickens peck while the moon is in Aries or Leo)" by Robert Thiel

"Prove all things" has always been meaningless since you can't prove anything of a religious nature, you have to take it on faith...

Norm, I was thinking a book perhaps on :

"Goat Entrails and Prophecy. What You Need to Know."

I bet he'd not have the guts to write it

:)

PS The RCM letter sounds like him. Is it real?

This is a curious anomaly, considering the fact that New Testament Scripture insists that we respect authority and submit to authority.

Booby Thiel proves once again that Armstrongists are defiant of God and will break His Commandments at every turn and ignore completely what Jesus said.

This is yet another terrible example in a long line of defiance against the Creator God to thumb their nose at Him.

It's no wonder He says that He hates their feasts.

And, apparently, this year, He's not the only one, since projected attendance figures are WAY down (in a suspcious coincidence with unemployment).

Be blessed. Be warmed. Be filled. Give until it hurts. Rely on our false prophecy to sustain you.

Send us money.

The letter from RCM is real -- I didn't make it up. Thanks though!

Hey, what happened to Baron Von Schnausenhausen? I thought he was the big one to watch in prophecy. What does Kenyan prophecy say about him?

Painful Truth said...

Bob Thiel is preparing not for the feast but a spin off group. I have watched him over the years and have predicted (not a prophetic uttering, but opinion) that he is in the shadows waiting for the old man (Meredith) to drop dead before coming out with his own group offering.

He is called an opportunist.
Watch!
IMHO.

I imagine that to be so too. "Sadly and of course," (BT's favorite phrase,) Thielites cannot be far off.

I notice he alone has given himself until 2016 to play with soooooo, four more beers...I mean years.

Thiel has long been Meredith's Dankenbring, so it only follows that he'll strike out on his own at some point.

I've heard and read UCG ministers bring up Catholic prophecies once in a while - especially the one claiming the next Pope after Benedict XVI will be the final one.

(Which is strange, because didn't Gerald Flurry once say Pope Benedict is the last one?)

Gary, you are sooooo bad. You set poor Bob up for a fall by labeling him the "official spokesman."

He prolly wants to ring your neck ....lol

Much to Thiel's chagrin, when Meredith is on his deathbed, he'll probably find some reason to disfellowship and mark him so as to rid his sons, Jim and Dave, from having fight Thiel in the squabbling over thrones and cash which will undoubtedly ensue. Even loyal Ames might find himself snubbed, insulted, and demoted to help clear the way.

BUT...if Meredith dies suddenly and doesn't get the chance to make last-minute nepotistic decrees, Living might turn into an all-out war zone, like after Alexander the Great died suddenly followed by forty years of civil war. The only difference was, among Alexander's generals, piety didn't need to be a plank in their campaign platforms.

Who knows, true to form, there might even be some "christian" bloodletting between Jim and Dave. Apples don't fall far from the tree.

Oh, the irony of it all, when men try to convince others they are the most righteous and would make the wisest, most ethical, and beneficient leader, meanwhile employing the most ruthless and underhanded tactics to eliminate all other pretenders to the throne. I still don't know why so many people stick around in a church after such disgusting displays of hypocrisy.

That's nutty. Dave won't fight against Jim. Jim is Dave's best hope for continued prosperity. The battle appears to be between those who want to see COGWA folded into LCG, with some promise of protection against Meredith family politics (and likely eventual sidelining of Meredith family), and those who want to see a Meredith dynasty, led by Jim (or perhaps briefly in transition by Jim's uncle Ames as a short-term regent to help prepare the LCG brethren for Jim as their leader).

The only way Dave might "draw blood" is if Jim became determined to resist Dave's blackmail tactics -- the same tactics that have presently earned Dave a cushy spot on the LCG payroll in Charlotte. But that would be self-defeating for them both, and why would Jim discontinue a policy that his father seems to have carried out with great success?

Dave will never be a visible power in LCG, but because of what he knows about his family's secrets he is already 100 times more influential behind the scenes than Thiel will ever be.

I've never been a member of either Global or Living, so I have no real idea. All I was saying was that it wouldn't surprise me if a power struggle did arise between the brothers following daddy's demise. Not saying it will happen, just that I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Also, with the two factions within UCG having separated like oil and water, I can't see the COGWA politicians really being willing to throw in their lot with Living politicians or vice versa. Even if it did happen, I could see the Living and COGWA politicians remaining two distinct factions and separating again later on (one side, of course, being stripped of all their physical assets, as ususal).

It just seems like such a messy proposition. It introduces so much uncertainty about who will wind up with what power when the dust settles. I can imagine especially the COGWA politicians being gunshy of the risks. Any politicians who lose power might defect to another splinter. Any former Global or Living members such as Larry Salyer might not be too welcome in the combined Living-COGWA corporation. I can't see how either set of politicians will particularly stand to benefit from what seems to me will be perceived as the dilution of their present power.

Sadly and of course, this is HWA's greatest legacy.
