Rod Meredith: Gays Caused "Sandy" Hurricane

Bob Thiel is on a roll today touting Rod Merdith's letter earlier this year that American is getting spanked for being such worthless vile sinners.  In this letter it's the gays that are going to cause bad weather. It's always the "other" that is the problem instead of the vile sinners in one's own house, starting with the top leadership.  LCG is NOT a sinless, guileless group, in spite of the fact Rod claims to never have committed a "major" sin after baptism.  Apparently lying is not a sin.

Rod writes:
Thousands of years ago, God warned of the sobering consequences of rejecting Him and His commandments. “I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce…” (Leviticus 26:19-20). “Therefore the land will mourn; and everyone who dwells there will waste away with the beasts of the field…” (Hosea 4:3). God wants to bless those He created in His image, but disobedience forces Him to remove His blessings and protection (verses 1-7). God does control the weather and yearns for His people to return to Him so that He can once again bless them with “rain in due season” (Leviticus 26:1-4, KJV). For more information on extreme weather conditions, review our insightful booklet, Who Controls the Weather? Will the United States, Canada, Britain and Australia truly repent and turn to the God of the Bible before more devastating droughts, floods, earthquakes and other natural catastrophes strike? Will we repent of what God Almighty calls the “vile passions” of homosexuality, when “men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting” (Romans 1:26-28)?

Bob then adds his two cents to the mixture:

National repentance is the only hope now for the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.  And as far as the storm goes, prayer and physical preparations can and should be done (see also Superstorm Expected: What Can You Do?).

Maybe God is waiting for the Church of God, including the Living Church of God to repent of their vile sins and set an example for the rest of the country.  Maybe the disgusting behavior of COG leadership, the corruption that is rampant, the alcoholism, the sexual issues, and other  problems, are why this country is suffering.  Maybe God is looking for a few righteous in the COG in order to save the entire British Israelite nations and the world.  Since most COG's take the Bible literally, maybe they had better take heed of Lot and his story.

Remember the other day when Bob said that it was carnality that caused people to want to save themselves?  For some reason when Rod Meredith gives people examples on how to save themselves it is not carnal.

So we must each examine our own situation to determine what action we should take. Are we living in a low-lying coastal area where we may be in danger at a time of increasing hurricanes, tsunamis or similar natural disasters? Do we have at least a week’s supply of emergency food and water, flashlight batteries, a first-aid kit, a battery-powered radio, prescription medications and other essential items? Have we read the instructions from our nation or region about how to prepare for such emergencies as hurricanes, earthquakes or terrorists attacks? (Meredith RC.  Are You Prepared.  Tomorrow’s World, Jan-Feb 2005)
Put aside some food and store some water…Bad times are coming, have some supplies (Meredith RC. Prophecy Overview. Sermon, July 19, 2008).
Get extra food, dried food, and water…When these things happen, maybe God’s people can survive longer…It’s good to be prudent (Meredith RC. Do you actually live by faith? Sermon, April 25, 2009).

Even Bob adds his own recommendations which apparently are not carnal in any way.

And preparation certainly makes a lot of sense.  Increasingly worsening weather and storms have long been expected and seem to be happening.  More will as well.  These difficult times should get people’s attention.

The Church of God has cried "wolf" so many times over the decades that no one pays any attention any more.  That alone should be their wake up call, not some storm that conveniently fits their desire for death and destruction.

And the only thing worse would be Armstrongist gay false prophets.

Nevertheless, the LCG has a lot over which to repent.

No mention of the punishment God is going to render if Roderick Meredith doesn't repent.

Death sentence, I would imagine.

Sadly and of course, this Meredith/Thiel interpretation of weather events is not very different than that of many mainstream Christian TV preachers.

Oh boy, this brings up a number of issues. I guess I get Rod's connection. The weather equivalent of homosexual blowing could be the hurricane. So, I guess he considers that to be an appropriate punishment.

I've oft wondered why Meredith, amongst the ACOG ministers, is the one who seems to be preoccupied with homosexuality and masturbation. It kind of makes you wonder if a little something didn't happen to him at Boy Scout camp back in his youth. Stuff like that apparently did go on even in those days.

Where Thiel and others make a huge monumental mistake is to ignore the fact that many individuals each day, in all of the nations he cited, actually are repenting of their sins and embarking on a personal journey with God. There is a huge harvest ongoing right now, and the ACOGs either ignore it, or don't even realize what is happening around them, because they're out of that loop.

Over the weekend, my next door neighbor shared that he had just returned from a three day Christian convention or retreat. He knows of my past involvement with the Armstrong cult, and apparently knows some things about it personally as well, because his Dad had taken the Plain Truth decades ago.

Anyway, Chris (my neighbor) shared with me that he had found Che Anh's testimony to be especially inspiring. For those who don't know, Che Anh's ministry is HRock, the group which took over the Ambassador Auditorium. "H" stands for "Harvest", and apparently this is quite a growing evangelistic effort. I personally would not ever consider involvement with any group even remotely associated with the Armstrongs or any of their property, but apparently this Harvest group has much more visibility, influence, and street buzz than any of the ACOG splinter groups.

I didn't know that either of these guys had a personal hotline from God to determine which disaster is for which "sin". And how can things that are predetermined suddenly be changed. "If America repents"--- well you have been telling me for years what is going to happen (wrongly by the way)because it is prophecy.

This prophetic blame someone or some thing bullshit gets old when spoken over and over through every normal weather event even if it seems unnatural to humans.

Humans can be gone in one asteroid strike alone with everything bigger than a mouse. One solar flare, without God's knowing or Jesus being on the ball can take us out end of story. It all begins again like it has four or five times in the past and maybe cockroach people evolve next.

No God is in the weather. That is Bronze Age ignorance. If there is a God then show up and teach. Don't "try to warn us." Don't 'try to tell us something." Don't used common scientific realities to convince us. Only the superstitious and ignorant are convinced until the next time when God "tries" again to tell us something.

It's stupid. I'm sure HWA noted that God was trying to warn us when the storm of 1938 hit. Poor God...can't seem to get a hearing!

Prophecy is mostly ignorance + superstition with a dash of denial and hope that one is more special than anythone else. It is also bunk.

Oh no you don't!!! COGers are NOT allowed to take any personal protective actions.

"A thousand shall fall on thy right hand and ten thousand on thine left, but it shall not come nigh unto thy dwelling...."

So let's not tempt God with doubt or fear. Sit back and "only with thine eyes shall you see the reward of the wicked...."

Bob Thiel said "National repentance is the only hope now for the USA"

And if the USA did "repent" would it stop the fucking morons in congress from handing out money to every bleeding heart cause that is bankrupting the country? Answer: No.

So how will "repenting" from a host of armstrong defined sins save the country? It wouldn't. Democracies run their course in 200-250 years. It is usually caused by people voting money from the treasury. That money keeps a few political whores employed for a few years so that they can make money from lobbyists further enriching themselves.

So in conclusion, a whore is a whore. Whether it be a leader or minion of a religious cult or some fucking sleaze bag of shit politician, the results are the same. Money (which is labor) is spent on useless shit and useless people that contribute not a goddamned thing to society.

Let me hear a "Amen brother"!

I've wondered about that too Bob since those condemning the loudest are usually guilty of the same vices.

Not from me. Nor from any other true patriot who understands history and what is at stake.

You know where I stand, since we've had our words over it, and it's not with the 1% who are the real bankrupters with their welfare for themselves, poverty, want, national decline and Taliban like control for everyone else with ill-conceived, unnecessary wars to enrich themselves while the country goes to hell and everything that made us great is destroyed.

Go stand with Romney/Ryan and their tyranical, lying, disgusting ilk and watch everything real patriots built until about thirty years ago with the election of "acting president" Reagan and the long so-called "conservative" plunge into national oblivion and theocratic fascism. (Their fanatical forerunners even succeeded in putting "under God" in the pledge of allegiance! I'm not under any god and my nation was never meant to be either. Those words never exit my mouth when the pledge is repeated. They won't stop until we're cringing under blasphemy laws and every other theist horror they can dream up.)

It's Rome all over again from where I observe and we just might get our Mormon Caesar. I admire Cato like George Washington and the other great founders of our nation did. He cut out his guts rather than live under Caesar's dictatorship with only the form and ceremony of original Rome. The republic was history, and he knew it. Ours will be history to if that evil cabal succeeds!

You might as well start shouting, "Viva Mormonism and Catholicism!" That's what we would have.

Seeing what mormons are posting about their church's "We're NOT weirdos" advertising campaign reminds me an awful lot of COGdom.

On the one hand, the mormon leadership tells people that they are a "peculiar people" (read: "superior" - sound familiar?), they have to be mormons first and anything else second (which means you don't have time for hobbies), women aren't supposed to have careers, never to say the word "mormon" only LDS, etc., while their PR campaign advertises "normal" (non-peculiar), seemingly happy people with hobbies, women with careers, etc., and always end by calling themselves "mormons."

Some mormons brave enough to post on the interwebz sees a lot of hypocrisy in these ads. They think it will backfire because they're selling a mormon church that is NOTHING like reality, so the new converts, when they realize they've been lied to will leave and proceed to tell all their friends the ugly truth that mormonism is just a cult.

On the flip side, how many mormons will leave because these ads will show them that the REAL mormon lifestyle they've suffered under all these years is now being publicly DEBUNKED by their own church authorities? Now they're saying that the IDEAL mormon does NOT live like they've always in the past said that "good" mormons live. I know if I were a mormon, after seeing these ads, I would be kind of upset with myself for having been a f$%#&@% mormon!

Though the the mormon church authorities officially deny it, many seem believe this ad campaign is an attempt to make mormonism seem normal and palatable to people who might otherwise not vote for Mitt Romney, and thus help Romney's chances of getting into the White House.

All I know is, if a COG person was running for president, I for one would not vote for him, and truthfully, his politics would have very little to do with it.

Ah, the joys of growing up in a cult. Pick one. Any one. They're all so similar!

Allen C. Dexter said...

"Ah, the joys of growing up in a cult. Pick one. Any one. They're all so similar!"

Yes, they are, but let's not forget that all churches have their cultic overtones, some just more outlandish than others.

Virgin births -- are you kidding me? A "queen of heaven" -- just another goddess. Don't dance, play cards, do anything that might be fun. The conflicting rules and regulations are mind boggling and constitute Jewish-syle legalism in the final analysis.

Yeah, some are more lenient than others. I call Methodism "Christianity light." It's all nonsense beginning with a godman being sacrificed to pay for ordinary people's sins. And, we condemn the Aztecs for human sacrifice! What non-thinking fools we humans can be!

According to M.T. Stormclouds, "No God is in the weather."

Oh, Brother, let me tell you how wrong you are, for I have seen the evidence with my own two eyes!

I knew a mule. That mule lied. Whenever anyone tried to ride him, he limped "painfully" in his left front leg.

Now Brother M.T., you know that actions speak louder than words, and with his actions that mule was moaning and complaining just as eloquently as if he had been granted the same gift of speech as Balaam's ass: "I know that I am naught but a beast of burden, bound to do as you command. But understand this: the burden you impose is almost more than I can bear."

Any other time that mule could walk perfectly well. He could even prance and gambol when he felt like it, though he seldom bothered. Too lazy.

O Brother, God bided his time. When it came, he looked down on that mule from a towering cloud. He calibrated on the oak the miserable asinine liar was cowering under and struck it with a mighty bolt of lightning. It shattered the tree into flinders and electrocuted the mule.

Afterwards all of us gazing on that terrible scene of destruction were struck by the awe and wonder of witnessing what we knew to be the aftermath of an act of divine retribution for the sin of bearing false witness.

Oh no, it's not the gays that caused Superstorm Sandy - it was the JEWS! Well, think about it...God wants the Jews in New York to return to Israel in order for a third of them to be slaughtered in the beginning of the GGGGGreat Tribulation. Just goes to show, Rod doesn't know what he's talking about.

Holy Aaronic preisthood, Batman! That's some creepy shite Norm! It's like what religion would be like if Walt Disney had started a church instead of an entertainment company. I almost expected to see an animatronic Mr. Lincoln relabeled as "Joseph Smith" in the freakin celestial room. I wonder what they sell in the gift shop on the way out.

Some are barefaced liars nearly 100% of the time, and I'm not talking about Obama. We have a choice to make, and the future of our nation hangs in the balance. Are you really going to be a good HWA follower and not vote for anyone?

I think the future of our nation was decided a very, very long time ago. And I'm definitely not following HWA if I choose to assert my God given right NOT to vote! It's nothing, but mindless "good cop" "bad cop" they play anyway and as the saying goes, "The lesser of 2 evils is...still evil."

Allen C. Dexter said...

Pimping, you say. You're entitled to your opinion.

Fact is, I live in the real world. No more attitude of this is "Satan's world." It's evil, and they're all contemptible heathens, so I'm going to drop out and do nothing while theocratic fascism takes over and turns my country into a horror run by a religious taliban.

When I read the comments people make and post in some of blogs dealing with politics, religion and especially those dealing with Armstrongism and splinters, I can see why God restricted the eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It seems that greater knowledge creates greater problems in human relationships. This appears to be due to a lack of wisdom in communicating or using knowledge to build an accepted relationship with every human. As far as I know nobody outside of God has this kind of wisdom and He appears to let us reveal this lack of wisdom in verbal communication.
Something to think about!

Yet I agree with the other poster about the corrupt 1% and th expression of the poor and waging of unnecessary wars for profit

You do not need a drink you need to think.
Knowledge doesn’t mean a person is any smarter. The knowledge can be true or false, but your knowledge whether fact or fiction can make or destroy a relationship if it is not used wisely. Many relationships here have undergone serious transitions due to the communication of an increase in knowledge.

Anon said: “Whatever critical condemnation may be, critical thinking is necessary”

There is no objection to “critical thinking” even though “critical thought” may be a form of negative thought. The action taken is the problem. If the solution is the destruction of those who are evil and makes no contribution to improving the recognition of the value of human life we are all doomed.
