Bob Thiel: New Book Publishing Company

Bob Thiel, the public face of the Living Church of God, has started his own book publishing company to distribute his books.  He claims to NOT be afraid to publish books with controversial points of view.  However, I can guarantee you if you sent a book to him critical of Armstrongism and  its deceptive doctrines that he would NOT be promoting it on his web site.  Currently the only books being offered are by the Doctor himself.

Referenced Books for Knowledge Seekers

Nazarene Books seeks to supply unique and highly referenced books for the discerning reader who is seeking knowledge that it not commonly available elsewhere. All books that are supplied contain documented knowledge in a systematic way that knowledge seekers will appreciate.

Nazarene Books is not afraid to handle titles with controversial points of view, and our highly selective list of available titles reflects that philosophy.

For a short time you can order his book on Mayan prophecy, 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect, for $0.01 + shipping and handling, for $4.97.   Admit it, you know you really want to read it!

I can see a potential lawsuit down the line from the SUBWAY sandwich company. There is too much similarity between the two parent owners.

Subway currently has a special on "foot-longs" now.

But sadly and of course, Thiel's "special" nose is now more than a foot long.

Well, they're both full of baloney!

I think that more people would probably assume Bob was aligned with the Nazarene church. Since the Nazarenes are considerably more mainstream than the ACOGs, perhaps the name Bob selected was deliberately intended to make him appear more mainstream. Who really knows? To me, it doesn't matter what he would name any of his companies or literary efforts, since it's all worthless crap.

Nazarene?????? Really? The Living Church of God doesn't even know the guy or talk about him.

He pretends to be Catholic to sell his books to Catholics. Now is he pretending to be Nazarene in order to look Protestant?

"He claims to NOT be afraid to publish books with controversial points of view."

As long as they have HIS point of view I have no doubt that is true. On the other hand, I doubt there will be any other authors to take into consideration. When has Bob Thiel ever been shown to consider other points of view? He even knows better than the top men of his church and will point that out to you.

Does he write this crap himself? This is the most poorly written advertising copy I have seen in a long time. Saying things like "highly referenced" and "controversial" just screams out shoddy, disreputable, tabloid, and pulp. Then he concocts meaningless labels like "knowledge seeker" which could apply to everyone who can read. The secret to writing good ad copy is not trying to "cold read" the whole world. And when he says, "Admit it, you know you really want to read it!" I really want to read it much less than I did before. And I started out not wanting to read it at all.

Nazarene Books: dedicated to the wacky glory of Armstrongism's seedy underbelly.

"All books that are supplied contain documented knowledge in a systematic way that knowledge seekers will appreciate."

That's funny. Unintentionally so, perhaps, but funny. What a nutty sentence; poorly constructed, not to mention condescending.

Thiel's standard seems to be that if he's impressed with his writings, others will be, too. He's as irrelevant as he is obscure.

"To the Catholic I became Catholic. To the Nazarene, I became a Nazarene. To the Mayans, became I one of them. I am all things to all churches so that I might sell some books. For in the day they find out I am an Armstrong offshoot, shall I not sell many books ever more again..."

No really...it's in the Bible...
