Bob Thiel: Arroyo Grande, CA Now God's True HQ On Earth

The prophet on the Good Ship Lollipop

Did you know that multiple millions of people have been reached from prophet Thiel's new headquarters in Arroyo Grande, CA?  He claims to be doing a work now on par with HWA's worldwide ministry.  It is a work son to be even greater and more accurate than Living Church of God's.

On a cumulative basis, out of Arroyo Grande (mainly through the internet and radio interviews), millions have been reached. On a cumulative basis, out of Charlotte (mainly through television, printed publications, and the internet), multiple millions have been reached.

But this, even including the growth that we both have had this year, is a mere fraction of Herbert W. Armstrong’s 1971 reach—and even if he overstated the reach, he reached even more in the 1980s than the early 1970s—which is still many times more people than are being reached now. I, like the late Dibar Apartian did, believe that I could assist in not only working on aspects of the message, but in increasing the impact of the efforts in Charlotte through making aspects more interesting, more relevant, accurate, etc. More impact is needed in the 21st century than in the 20th century.

That mantle of evangelism has now been passed to the prophet in Arroyo Grande. At least according to the prophet.  It is now up to the prophet to get that final warning message out.

About a decade ago, Dr. Meredith essentially agreed and stated to me that in the end it would not mainly be the message of the COG vs. the Protestants, but it would be the COG basically vs. the ecumenical religion that will rise up in the end that will likely (for a while) refer to itself as "Catholic." In 2005 during the Feast of Tabernacles in Clearwater Beach, after a private lunch, we and our wives met at his hotel room and I discussed various aspects of the final phase of the work with him. Partially, because of this, a few weeks later I spoke with Dr. D. Winnail about me pursuing more formal education in theology and early Church history (and he encouraged me to do so), and then did so. With Evangelist Richard Ames, I discussed parts of the final phase of the work briefly on the Last Great Day in 2012, and he concurred with Dr. Meredith’s assessment about this phase would mainly consist of the COG vs. the ecumenical “Catholic” faith and less related to the Protestants.
The prophet wants to reinforce to Charlotte that they have errors in their message and that he can correct those errors.  Isn't a sad shame that those ignorant fools in Charlotte have ignored the message from the prophet!

It remains my opinion that when the European King of the North is publicly identified, and the media picks this up, that this will cause the King of the North to become furious (cf. Daniel 11:28,30). This media attention will magnify at least parts of the message, and likely lead to the final fulfillment of Matthew 24:14. Probably prior to unleashing direct persecution, the King of the North and/or his allies are likely to go through COG literature to look for errors, contradictions, and anything else to discredit God’s Church. This will likely cause the way of truth to be blasphemed (cf. 2 Peter 2:1-2). Real steps should be taken to minimize this.
Now, I am not saying that any in Charlotte are intentionally trying to teach known error (even though I believe there are doctrinal errors coming from Charlotte). Yet, related to matters of history, Charlotte has intentionally sent out, for one example, church history booklets that contain known error (and still does so). This complicates, in my view, the final phase of the work.

This whole thing is becoming surreal. The obcession to "reach" people is silly. Every radio preacher on earth is trying to "reach" others with his particular personality and spin of the Gospel tale. May I suggest Short Wave for then you may claim almost instantly to have gone to "the whole world."

This is feeling like the inmates on A ward are challenging the inmates on B Ward to meet them in the Day Room for a rumble. Then the winner can "reach out" to the inmates on Wards C,D,E and F.

The graphic comes from 2013: What Could Possibly Happen Now?.

There's more material there and some of it has nothing to do with Booby Thiel.

The truth is that Booby Thiel is a liar.

That's all you need to know.

I just love the way those in serious self-exalt mode incessantly name drop - for instance, as when Prophet Bob writes:

"In 2005 during the Feast of Tabernacles in Clearwater Beach, after a private lunch, we and our wives met at his hotel room and I discussed various aspects of the final phase of the work with him."

And I remember how Prophet Bob posted pictures of himself and Dr. Meredith at some restaurant (perhaps the same occasion), presumably to remind those who visited his site (cogwriter) how important and well-connected he was with the Big Boys in Charlotte.

My, my - these guys are SO very much like each other in motive and technique! They are every bit as self-promoting as the most worldly of politicians!!

Probably not. What a load of BS. The King of the North will go through COG literature looking for errors? What? I can do that now and find them and aren't even a King.

ummmm...too late. Already discredited.

I can just see it. A king, in majestic kingly robe and crown, holding a scepter, sitting down at the golden throne while a servant in very high rank lugs a boxful of old literature, and a laptop to these little itty bitty cog sites with the expressed purpose of discrediting "God's Church". The King takes 30 seconds to find the list of all failed prophecies, sees the "COG's" are nothing to sneeze at, and sends whoever sent him, the mighty King, to these competing egotistical schisms of greed and competition to go to the farmlands to go harvest corn for years and years. Just the idea of a Head of State surfing through COG material attempting to discredit them is the most delusional thing I've read since I used to imagine keeping the Sabbath in the millenium required a wooden lectern on the throne of the Kingdom.

Prophet Thiel has released his first Co-Worker letter:

Notice that he signs it as "Pastor and Overseer" of his new church.

If Thiel caught anyone else fudging Biblical offices like this, he would rake them over the coals. Even if Gaylyn Bonjour's ordination somehow did make Thiel a Prophet, it could not have made him both a Prophet AND a Pastor and an Overseer (Bishop/Elder). So, where does Thiel get the idea that he has now become both a Prophet AND a Pastor and an Elder?

I prophesy that it won't be long before Thiel discovers that he really is an Apostle, too, along with everything else he is.

Unfortunately, he may turn out to be an Apostle of Quetzalcoatl, not of Jesus.

Mental illness can easily hide in personal religious views of oneself.

Did Ezekiel have catatonia? - psychiatry in the Old Testament

George Stein

3:25 ‘As for you mortal, cords shall be placed on you with them so that you cannot go out among the people. 26 And I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth so that you shall be speechless.’

The picture here is of cords being placed upon Ezekiel so that he cannot move, but we do not know whether these were real, as in the case of Jeremiah, or allegorical cords. The phrase ‘you will be speechless’ is suggestive of mutism. The traditional rabbinical explanation for these verses is that Ezekiel was such a hypercritical prophet who was constantly berating the people for being rebellious that he had to be silenced and confined to his house. However, his period of silence and immobilisation went on for a long time.

4:4’Then lie on your left side and place the punishment of the house of Israel upon it; you shall bear the punishment for the number of days you lie there 5 for I assign to you a number of days, 390 days and so you shall bear the punishment of the house of Israel. 6 When you have completed these, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side and bear the punishment of the house of Judah: 40 days I assign you. 7 You shall set your face towards the siege of Jerusalem, and with your arm you shall prophesy against it. 8 See I am putting cords on you so that you cannot turn from one side to another until you have completed the days of your siege.’

In this passage Ezekiel must prophesy with his arm because he cannot speak and he cannot move, even to roll over. This lasts for a very long time, more than a year for the first episode and 40 days for the second episode. The most common and possibly the only non-fatal human condition lasting for such a long time where a person moves very little, does not speak and from which there may be complete recovery is catatonia.

Ezekiel ate very poorly and drank very little in his period of immobility and it seems he had to cook his food using human faeces (possibly his own): 4:12’You shall eat it as barley cake, baking it in their sight on human dung’. The phrase ‘in their sight’ suggests that the local people must have witnessed this. The taboos about handling human excrement or defilement were thought to be very strong in ancient Israel, particularly among the priesthood (Ezekiel was an important priest). However, such taboos are sometimes lost in people with serious mental illness, especially schizophrenia. Previous psychiatric commentators, including Jaspers, in Aneignung und Polemik, have also suggested that Ezekiel may have suffered from catatonic schizophrenia.

Someone once asked what's the difference between a Bible Prophet or Christian fundamentalist and a paranoid schizophrenic?

Well, one hears voices in their head, has a heightened moral code, is judgmental yet can be very deceptive and manipulative, has delusions of being on a mission from God, sees things that no one else present sees, hears things that one else hears, sees lights in his head, is the center of the universe and has special knowledge that must be kept secret until the right time an then can only be understood as explained by the one. The other, of course, is a paranoid schizophrenic.
