COG Member/Prophet Says: Soccer Is Worlds Game and Satan Is God of this world, Soooooooooo Soccer is Satan's Game....

Soccer is called "the World's game"
Satan is the 'god' of this world.
The official Soccer World Cup 1994 poster
by Peter Max
could be seen as depicting Satan
--in fiery red fury--
falling from Heaven to Earth, backwards
(as the Devil does things).
Even the name Peter Max
could refer to the Greatest (Maximum)
Pater (Father) whom Satan impersonates.

Note how the 1994 FIFA World Cup official logo could be interpreted
as Satan rising through 7 stages to fight Heaven.

This is more asinine stupidity from Geoff Neilson.  He cannot talk about Jesus but spends his time writing this kind of stupidity!  It is no wonder Armstrongites are mocked so much.

Snickers are made in the World. Satan is the God of this world. Therefore, Snickers are Satanic.

However, any fool knows that Snickers were created by God on the 5th day of Creation so God would have something to look forward to when creation was completed.

It is terrible how these people warped by Armstrongism keep trying to isolate themselves from society. In this instance by saying soccer is evil.

Let's see, if I cherry-pick the right scriptures, the right definitions, and the right images, I might be able to make ludicrous argument against soccer that some people might be gullible enough to believe!

The name Peter is not derived from the Latin "pater" but the Greek "petros" meaning "stone." If he weren't doing this on purpose, I'd think he was an idiot.

I'm going to draw a circle around myself and declare that inside the circle is officially not part of the world.

Doesn't make it true, now does it? So by this guys logic, he is satanic.

If you spend your time and energy looking for evil, for paganism, for Satan, guess what? You will find them! Or, at least you will think that you have found them. Typical Armstrongism!

But, why would you want to do that? While it might help the Armstrongism seem to make sense, that kind of thinking actually forces you to concentrate on all of the things that Jesus conquered! Why would you want to participate in a religion which makes you focus on the negative? Wouldn't it be superior theology to focus on the victorious living that was made possible by the conquering of the evil?

I'm surprised that he didn't include that it's been exactly 19 years since 1994!

If A=B and B=C, then A=C.

In the wrong hands, logic is arguably the most dangerous weapon.

Dennis, do you take requests? How about an article about The Armor of Ignorance?

I realize that Christians everywhere really love this Satan guy to take the blame for whatever evil they choose to do...but, and give this a little thought:

God, an all knowing sentient entity, being, whatever, fore-knew that the arch-angel would turn bad, yet created him anyway... Allowed a war in heaven, which rules out heaven as a perfect place. Allows free-will in heaven, so that the possibility of rebellion by the other angels continues to exist.

Satan gets kicked out of heaven and down to earth - instead of Venus or the planet Kolob or somewhere else where he would no longer be a problem.

The fallen angels are kept in Tartarus (2 Pet. 2:4) until the judgment but yet are allowed to roam the earth at the same time they are locked away? Well, maybe the judgment is past already? Okay, it's a contradiction...

Who is the god of this world, really? Well, right now it appears to be the republicans...

I really don't think this has anything to do with armstrongism, this guy is plain nuts.

Corky-
Some Armstrongists believe that the relatively innocuous demons are allowed to roam the earth, while the really evil ones are locked away. But during the tribulation or after the millenium when satan is let loose, then all the bad ones will be let out. It's all speculation based on tenuous references in a book of ancient mythology called the bible, but say it enough times and it becomes "the truth."
