Bob Thiel Makes An Ass of Himself...... Again....

Bob Thiel, the non-ordained self-appointed false prophet of the Continuing Ed Church of God, is making more asinine claims against the new Pope.

The Pope has ordered an investigation into the corruption in the Vatican Bank.  Thiel sees this as a sign of the end times.  Everything is a conspiracy or a sign pointing to the end.

I cannot imagine living my life filled with this much fear. It is amazing to sit here and watch the mental break down of this guy over the last year or so.  I can only imagine how miserable hi family is having to deal with this stupidity all the time.  He takes himself far too seriously.

Pope Francis tightens Vatican bank controls

August 8, 2013
The Pope recently set up a commission to investigate the bank and report back to him personally…
Pope Francis’s number one priority this summer is to sort out the financial mess at the Vatican bank and a parent body which looks after the financial assets of the Holy See, the BBC’s David Willey reports from Rome.
Bank review
The new decree is intended to tackle “money-laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction”, the Vatican said.
It sets up a financial security committee to coordinate the anti-corruption effort.
Church spokesman Federico Lombardi said the decree would help the Vatican resist “increasingly insidious” forms of international financial crime…
The Vatican bank, which is known officially as the Institute for Religious Works, handles the payroll for some 5,000 Vatican employees. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-23621235
The USA seems to be the country that  introduced a lot of financial controls and reporting (spying) at banks within its borders, in these times.  Because of its financial influence, this has spread to other countries (where the USA pressures them and/or their banks to provide information to the USA).

While there is nothing obviously nefarious about what Pope Francis is doing (especially, as in his case there reportedly was a lot of Vatican-bank related corruption that he needed to deal with), I cannot help but feel that his actions, combined with those of others nations, are truly a prelude to the fulfillment of the following prophecies:
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.   (Revelation 13:16-18)
As far as USA espionage goes, there have been articles about how its Drug Enforcement Administration has tapped into various databanks in order to go after Americans.  While the USA is NOT the Beast of the sea nor the Beast of the land of Revelation 13, some of its policies and practices are making it easier for those Beasts to rise up.

If you are referring to me I don't hate God, Religious bullshit yes, spirituality no. I am active in a church and even work as a distance by learning four year class on theology, God and church history. I have been doing that for 8 years and enjoy it immensely. Watching people to dare question and live with their doubt is a refreshing experience after close to 50 years in Armstrongism. Grace filled religion is fascinating, legalistic religion is nothing but damaging bullshit.

Why wouldn't the Pope want to make sure that no one within the Vatican Bank was engaging in illegal activities? Any responsible leader would want to make sure that such is the case.

It is disgusting that false prophets use even such simple news stories to say the end is coming, pay me my tithes if you want to be protected from it.

People who fancy themselves as ACOG leaders are in a position to spread incredible misinformation, and to do irreparable damage in peoples' lives.

Why, you might ask? Well, in "the world", one knows to consult with experts who have education and experience in the specific field one needs advice. You would not normally consult your dentist, as an example, for insights in preparing your tax return, To obtain the best advice possible, you would make an appointment with a reputable accountant. Unfortunately, in the world of Armstrongism, the first commandment is "Thou shalt not have any other advisor before thy minister." The stricter and more legalistic splinters are the worst offenders in this. Their ministers make grandiose statements, and the members take those statements as if they are "knowledge" or revealed truth, and don't even get a second opinion from a qualified expert. That would be considered to indicate a lack of faith, or a rebellious attitude.

This becomes especially comical when it comes to international geopolitics and the Armstrong prophecy model. Ya think any ACOG members are going to check in with organizations such as The Millennium Project to compare the measurable global indicators on which that organization keeps tab, or are members more likely to take the word of their minister who comments during Bible Study that things are just becoming so bad that he doesn't see how everything can go on for much longer?

Case in point, Thiel and the Vatican Bank. All banks around the world are interrelated. Any large, corrupt or weak bank has the potential to take other banks down with it. Therefore, it is encouraging news indeed that the Pope is making the health and business ethics of the Vatican Bank a priority. This could actually help avoid or postpone a massive collapse of the world's financial system. Reality is that the Pope's activity actually counters the idea that the failed or much postponed HWA prophecy model is kicking in. But, Thiel has just got to spin it and turn it around to make it appear that his "apostle" was somehow right. That is just plain disingenuous.

Nicely said NO2HWA In my view the COG players dabbling in religion. Spirituality is another thing and is an inside job. Spiritual thinking can arise from religious games once the spiritual person who didn't think was a difference between the words awakens. An experience like the WCG can serve one well in waking to a more full and meaningful experience of their chosing as we grow through.

We don't note the spiritual antics of these pretenders. We note their religious misconceptions and title mongering.
