God Punishes Man's Daughter Because He Let The Cable Guy Fix His Unit On The Sabbath

The magical and punitive  god of Armstrongism still continues to eagerly sit on high with his thumb on the punishment button ready to dish out pain and suffering on sinful COG members.

Is it any wonder the COG is loosing so many members across the board when the god they follow is this angry and pissed off all the time?

Do you ever think sometimes that when bad things happen to you or someone you love, you might have brought it on by your sinning? Well, something very bad happened to my daughter recently, right after I let the cable guy come fix my cable on the sabbath. I would have had to take off work to do it any other day. I sure should have. Ironic, after six weeks of sitting by her bed in the hospital, I lost my job anyway. Thankfully I didn’t lose my daughter. God is serious, and he is quick to forgive too. It’s never too late to learn how to honor our Father. (From The Church of Malm)

I'm pretty sure I've had the cable guy here on Saturday and I worked every other Saturday for about 3 years. I'm not working at all now and I really haven't noticed any difference.

In other words...allow me to connect the dots in an unwarranted and irrational way to support the sort of deity I want to believe in even though I have no actual evidence that any deity exists at all, let alone the vindictive one I enjoy imagining.

I guess it's time for a new job. While you're at it, you might want to search for a new deity as well. One that doesn't treat you like your father did?

The guy is trying to convince you that god punished his daughter and perhaps him to justify why he is in a nutty cult. He needs to think this Nazi god loves him. Without this magical thinking, how else can you feel justified giving 30% of your money to some asshole with a shitty looking website?

Just what do you mean 'fix his unit'?

The daughter's father wrote: "...Do you ever think sometimes that when bad things happen to you or someone you love, you might have brought it on by your sinning?..."

Apparently, neither this father nor James Malm understands any of the following "good news" within their style of "Fear Religion:"

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, NOT IMPUTING their trespasses unto them..." 2 Cor 5:19

"Verily I say unto you, ALL SINS SHALL BE forgiven unto the sons of men..." Mark 3:28

What legalistic madness!

A man like that, as far as I am concerned, is in spiritual bondage to a fear based ideology. It is dreadful that he blames himself for his daughter being so ill and for losing his for "breaking the Sabbath".

Never mind that every COG member breaks the Sabbath all the time.
