James Malm: A Really Converted Woman Even Covers Her Head While Doing Housework

A Malmite asks:

James, I pray numerous times per day and Iam sure women do also, are they to don the head covering every time they talk to God in a quick prayer? Iam talking about as I go about doing things not on my knees but as I am engaged in an activity like driving or doing a chore or just walking, or sitting down.
The Chief Pharaisee responds:

My mother and most women in past times, always wear a scarf doing housework or a hat outside. I guess we have changed somewhat in our society; but it is certainly very easy to cover the head, and very wise to do so to keep the hair clean from the dust of housework or the barn or car etc.

This is so easy and effortless and was done routinely by our grandparents if not our parents. Paul expressly teaches this point in terms of covering in humility before God. Since we are instructed to do this, it has the authority of a command.

I would think that if there was even the slightest idea that something might please God and it was lawful, everyone would rush to do it. That would be wholehearted zeal to please God.
On the other hand to strongly resist what is an easy, simple, minor and lawful act, commanded in scripture, speaks loudly as to a lack of zeal to please God. James

If the god of Malmism was really worth pleasing it would be one thing to do all of this.  Since the god of Malmism does not exist, why waste one's time?????

Yeah, well, those housewives wearing a scarf on their heads were trying to cover up the curlers in their hair. They didn't wear them all the time, just when they had wet curlers in their hair.

What backwards tripe. Safeguarding the sexism of the world's ancient cultures in the 21st century.

What a world-class idiot James Malm is. Forget about fruit salad hats, James Malm has a fruit salad brain.

Reading between the lines, it appears that Malm has , and HAS HAD women problems in his life. He has alluded to some of that in the past even on his blog.

It is grossly unfair that men, who fancy themselves as leaders, put the onerous burden of their own sex hang ups on their congregations. HWA had a hangup about women being "prostitutes", and thus took his make up doctrine to be imposed on all women.

Malm, obviously has a problem keeping the women in his life in order, at least under his control, so figures the answer is to just dumb them down, and "uglify them" and then all will be right with the world.

You cannot legislate morality, nor submission, nor grace, nor enforce Christianity. Either you have it , or you dont. Stop with all the external machinations and worry about the "outside of the cup".

NEW MOVIE TO BE RELEASED IN TIME FOR THE FOT!...

"MR. MALM!"

(synopsis)...

James Malm is fired by his boss. James' wife is compelled to get a job to make ends meet, and is soon hired on as an advertising executive at a firm.

This leaves James at home doing the housework and taking care of the kids, which he discovers is a lot more complicated than he ever imagined. Moving from breadwinner to househusband doesn't do much for his self-esteem, and so he starts an online blog called "Shining Light" to express his manhood, and to wrestle with other more masculine Church of God types in an effort to restore his own "gravitas".

Failing to impress online, James goes on to insult women of all stripes, loses his marriage, and becomes just a general all around negative loser.

Don't miss this funny, tragic , and yet all so true movie during this fall season.... MR. MALM!
(Rated R for Ridiculous)

Is Michael Keaton going to play the part of Mr. Malm?

Still holding out hope that the people who keep writing these questions to Malm aren't actually serious and just some of the Internet's finest trolls providing us a stream of quality cringe-material.

No, anonymous. RuPaul got the part!

I think this man is in love with feeling important.
Could it be that these men get a taste of control and power over people and then just run wild with it? Seems so to me.

Malm should cover his mouth... and from the looks of it, his keyboard.

First Name Surname wrote, "I think this man is in love with feeling important."

I do believe you've hit the nail on the head!
There are many aspects to it, that more religious folks claim, like-
"I'm in the best religion!"
"I'm in the best church!"
"I have a personal relationship with the TRUE god!"
"Only people who believe like me have the holy spirit!"
"Only people who believe like me win big prizes from god!"
"Unless you believe what I do, your life totally sucks!"
"God gave me a double dose of the holy spirit!"
"God doesn't need to have sex, because his delight in people like ME is better than an orgasm!"
"I'm spirit filled, so I'm led to the correct interpretations of the holy book!"
"God is working with me in a mighty way!"
"God is working with people who believe like me in a mighty way!"
"God is using me to help those with eyes to see and ears to hear to get back on the track!"
"I'm helping to defeat the awfullest thing in the universe- the DEVIL!"

But, all that stuff falls under the umbrella of a person who "is in love with feeling important", which is why I like your succinct observation.

Also, I've noticed that people of that persuasion have thin skin when it comes to ribbing or criticism about their grandiose claims, and resort to personal attack against those who they perceive as undermining their claims, and, hence, it reveals the frailness of their sense of importance, and the "mission from god" they imagine themselves to be a part of, which supports that fragile sense of self importance.

I'm more concerned about the poor person who asked the question.

It is incomprehensible to me that anyone thinks they must get input from James Malm on anything of this sort.

Most of the time, I get a chuckle out of the things I read here. Other times -- and this is one -- I read something like this and just shake my head in a combination of wonder and sadness.

It's tragic, it really is.

Now upon what basis does Malm today say that phylacteries don't need to be literally worn, although yesterday he said that head coverings do need to be literally worn?

Bias?

If one is literal, then so is the other. Why the inconsistency?

It's amazing-

"Extreme sports" is now popular, and it's been taken to an 'Extreme Religious Sports' dimension by people who are "in love with feeling important"-

In their attempts to be right and important, they use the sleaziest of tactics to convince others of what they believe in.
They'll make outrageous claims yet use the sleaziest of salesman tactics to try and discredit those who question those unprovable claims.

After all, it's all a sales game. If a person is able to sell 'it' to others, then he's more able to believe that he's important himself. (And this is quite amplified when he believes he's on a "mission from god", and not just a Fuller Brush salesman! Lies, and broad leaps of logic easily enter the sales efforts of people who think they're on a "mission from god".)

In a way, it's a sport. Like NASCAR, you can tune into Christian TV or the COGs and watch them compete and see fiery crashes (Like when a few of cows caused the UCG to split in half!)

Or, be amazed at the UCG editor of the UCG's magazine- who is so "in love with feeling important" that he makes asinine statements about Armstrong's thoroughly discredited British Israelism theory, like, "While some have tried to discredit the biblical record, we have yet to see any critic of our teachings on the identity of the lost tribes offer a credible alternative to explain how those promises were fulfilled in any other way, or to explain how God didn't really mean what He said"

As long as she leaves everything else uncovered while she does housework, covering her head is fine with me.

I can only guess that Malm used make his former wife cover her head...with a bag.

Ya know, I really wish that all of this fashion stuff that the legalists insist on would become major identifying trends in the gay community! Many lesbians do shun cosmetics already.
