James Malm In Financial Straights. Send Him Your Money! NOW!!!!!!

Apostle and prophet James Malm claims to have thousands who follow is legalistic muttering and who are supposedly dedicated to preserving the "truth" as Malm declares it.  You would think that if there were thousands out there supporting his legalism that they would be sending in their money.  That's not the case.  He is in serious financial straights and needs immediate income otherwise his world girdling awesome work will face huge difficulties.  Since he does not do any real work and sits in front of his computer or bible all day long; he is reliant upon mooching off of his few followers.

PERSONAL:  Our accountant, who volunteers his unpaid services, has just informed me that: “As of now we have $1,091.46 in the account”.  We need an average of over $5,000 per month just to meet our monthly expenses and we are also in debt to do this work.  We are also now approaching renewals of our web sites in spring, and we need to build funds for the Festivals. We do not have millions like other COG Groups, and operate by faith that God will provide; on an almost daily basis.  This means that we are in serious need of your financial support.  I know that God will provide, however you have the opportunity to help us continue to share the whole word of God with the brethren.Yes, you can say:  “Let someone else do it”  and God will still provide; but in doing that, your opportunity to have a part in preparing God’s people and exhorting them back to a passionate loving zeal for God and his word is lost. Please support those who speak the truth of God’s word.  James Malm

MALM WRITES:
"WE" need an average of over $5,000 per month just to meet OUR monthly expenses ...

Id like to know who he means WE and OUR. He is just a one man band, who basically is running a BLOGSPOT.

It is obvious that Malm believes that he is entitled to a salary of some type, and has slowly been turning his operation into a money making cottage industry.

Best advice... get a job guy.

His financial plight is completely voluntary, and apparently he is experiencing Karma.

One of these times, we're going to read that some aspiring "prophet" or "apostle" thinks their Armstrongish message is so important to get out that they've built a meth lab to support their ministry! It's no crazier than some of the current escapades.

I wonder if this "debt" of which he speaks isn't credit card debt...

$5,000 a month is $60,000 per year. Where is it going? It doesn't take that kind of money to have a blog. Maybe it takes $50 a month for your fast internet access and another $50-$100 in annual expenses. And it doesn't take anything but a credit card to make feast reservations, sooo that's ~$700 per year. Is this Malm's way of saying he's drawing a ~$59,300 salary from this "Shining Light Inc." juggernaut? Oh, and I've maxed out my credit cards...so I'm actually spending more than that...please help...Will condemn others for food...god bless...

Basically, he's pretty much told us that he's got 25 or less tithe paying members supporting his ministry, and 25 is assuming some pretty substandard wages.

Planet Earth to James Malm; come in James Malm.

He's the reality, Mr. Malm. Nobody gives a rats ass about your alleged Work of God! After 80 years of Armstrongism (1934 to 2014) preparing for the Great Tribulation and the return of Jesus Christ (in OUR lifetime according to the dead Apostle Mr. Herbert Armstrong), the dumb sheep are all tapped out after spending a lifetime building a Work and a College that in the end accomplished nothing other than making little Joey Tkach a multi millionaire.

Get a life, and as Joe Moeller writes, best advice is get a job, dude. The world doesn't need another WCG dead splinter Church, and no one cares about the Work of God that only exists in your deluded brain. Try real work or starting a real business.

The Lord will supply all the needs of His faithful.

Obviously, there's some sort of disconnect there.

James Malm now is like all churches of God, they all say, we are broke, we need your money, we are in debt etc. It worked for HWA and the rest and now James Malm wants in on it. I'm waiting for his building fund plea to show its head. BB is right, Malm has about 25 followers that send in a few bucks, little do they know they are simply paying his way and buying his food.

Here's something you might consider to be equally crazy, and it's about a more mainstream Christian source- Steven Furtick's Elevation Church.
(Steven Furtick has also been a featured speaker at Billy Graham Evangelistic Association events.)

A blog post by Matthew Paul Turner

Elevation Church has adopted the sleaziest of sales elements from their "shilling", and other LGAT (Large-group awareness trainings), as other "Christian" organizations like the PK (Promise Keepers) and so many megachurches do.
These organizations, like Creflo Dollars- who said he'd like to line up his detractors and blow their heads off with submachine guns- demand an undue loyalty to those at the top of their churches' pyramids, as do Steven Furtick and so many others.

It's good that some Christians are willing to look further than the "success of numbers", as so many shallow Christians do, and to not accept sleazy sales tactics as being acceptable.
I'm glad that Matthew Paul Turner's blog is linked to, here, because it helps to put a spotlight on some of the more glaring problems within American Christianity that are ignored by it's less thoughtful cheerleaders.

James, you need to get more Credit Cards, preferably with high interest rates that will give you a larger credit limit. If you leverage these right, by paying one off with another, you can greatly expand the work, and your ministry will explode. If you need any more help I specialize in debt settlement and bankruptcy.

"The Lord will supply all the needs of His faithful."

Yes, but the question is: Who will supply all the wants of unfaithful, disloyal, ignorant rebels like James Malm?

This is the same James Malm who rebelled against HWA, left the WCG in 1985 while HWA was still alive, accuses HWA of being doctrinally wrong, and recently criticized HWA for always wanting more money.

Comments like that make one question and wonder just what sort of servant of God may be, or think he is? What kind of a steward of God's tithe is he? What is he doing in debt? Are those received funds being properly utilized: God's way? Or, Malm's way?

The xcogs used to tell us that they set their budgets up, and then told us (and God) how much they planned to "overspend" for the next year and they told God what increase in funds they wanted and desired for themselves!

What happened to "live within your means!" If you are professing to be God's work on earth, then why not work within the money God provides?

In Malm's case: if God only provides $1,091.46, then live within what God has provided! When has God ever asked anyone to spend what they did not have, what He has not provided them with? If Malm is part of God's Work on earth, and God knows that $5,000 is needed to accomplish His will with that work, then He will provide it, or we would have to question further: what sort of a God do you worship?

One of confusion? One of debts!

Again, in Malm's situation: if God provided you with $1,091.46, then live within in and do a work worth $1,091.46. Why would you do more than what God wants you to do?

Now, if God does not even recognize James Malm as having any part of any work He would be doing, then James is "on his own, doing his own thing!" And why beg for more?

Ancient David never saw the "righteous" begging for food , let along doing something "for the LORD:"

Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

James, as recommended by others: get a real job and learn to live within your means...and especially live within God's means for you so you don't ever have to say you are in debt! That just no longer sounds very Godly to be maintaining debt, when one should perhaps repent of that behavior.

Is God really concerned about even that $1,091.46 that you have in your account? After all, elsewhere we do read:

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye CANNOT serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and MAMMON.

If you continue to serve mammon, you will not get out of debt unless/until you repent of that thinking.

$5,000 a month just to copy and paste scripture, and then make a comment about it, that is usually just common sense, or totally out to lunch.

Why oh why do these think that they are the only ones with access to the Net?

Why oh why do they come up with some stupid phrase such as 'the whole word of God' in an attempt to make others think that they have more 'truth' than anyone else.

These people are just pathetic. Most toss HWA name around as if he were some angel or if he were the Son of God. In doing so, they reveal their ignorance of how Yahweh really thinks about this man.

Just who was HWA? Can any scriptures be found that can only apply to HWA? What does Yahweh think of HWA?

Zec 11:15 And YAHWEH said to me, Again take to yourself the tools of a foolish (idol) shepherd.

Zec 11:16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land; he shall not visit those who are cut off, nor will he seek the young, nor will he heal that which is broken, nor will he sustain that which stands. But he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear off their hoofs.

Zec 11:17 Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye. His arm shall be completely withered, and his right eye shall be totally darkened.

HWA fulfilled these scriptures. He was/is idolized. He ate the flesh of the fat (think tithes) and torn off their hoofs (think knocking people off their feet, or leaving people without a leg to stand on, after he has ripped them off). He abandoned the flock (think of his many, many trips around the world).

The sword shall be against his arm (think of his son Richard who died in a car crash). His arm shall be completely withered (think of GTA who dies spiritually due to his many sins). And his right eye shall be totally darkened (think of HWA’s right eye – he was totally blind in his right eye).

HWA is and was not thought well of by Yahweh. HWA is a lesson to all of us to not idolize a man. That we should not be following men. By his stupid decisions of D & R, preaching that one shouldn’t visit doctors and on and on, HWA was a very foolish man. He sought fame and riches and in no way was a man OF Yahweh, in the sense of being righteous.

All those that use his name to support their ministries have no clue that they are promoting a very sinful coveting incestuous hypocrite.

In Hebrew HWA means to covet. Read chapters 11, 12, and 13 and see for your selves that the scattering of the assembly was meant to be.

In any case, in order to live any sort of decent lifestyle, in a safe neighborhood, with a respectable or reliable car, eating nourishing foods, dressing presentably, and being covered by healthcare insurance, even a single person needs to be clearing $40,000 per year. And that isn't going to get you rich, it is only going to mean you can replace things as they wear out, occasionally go out to eat, or travel to meet relatives, and perhaps have a modest hobby.

Professional, degreed, and credentialed persons may be able to do this, but what about the tradesmen, the semi-skilled, the blue collar workers who comprise the greater percentage of the population? What about those who are on fixed income, or just entering the work force and at minimum wage? We're talking about people needing at least $20/hour jobs!

For the most part, the ACOGs teach that a woman's place is in the home. There is also no working to be done on the Old Covenant sabbath. The sheer weirdness factor can often put church members first on the list for layoffs if there is economic contraction. So you have a confluence of negative or detracting factors impacting members' income, and then someone has to come along fleecing you with a Clarion Call, gun lap, or message that Jesus is coming this Pentecost. And, generally, the members are not going to want to put a price tag on their salvation, so somehow they ante up, only to be confronted with requests for more of their income through the next letter or sermon. There are even reports of requests for credit card offerings coming in from some groups, as their apostle installs his jacuzzi or gets his and her massage chairs for himself and the wife!

Members of the groups who are being manipulated through prophecies and guilt trips need to at the very least send a clear message to their leaders. That message needs to be, for starters, we will absolutely not continue to support you if your prophecies fail! We also demand accountability. No horrendously conspicuous or ostentatious luxuries! Jesus did not find these things necessary to make people respect him, and neither should you! You want us to sacrifice, then set the example! No more arrogance and oppressive authority! There needs to be fair and impartial due process in all interactions with members. No more my way or the highway over inconsequential personal matters.

The problem is, people will not stand up for their Biblical rights, let alone their Constitutional or Magna Carta rights. They allow people who are supposed to be servants and guides continually abuse them, because the self-appointed wolves tell them that that's what God wants. What they need is some sort of spiritual "Clint Eastwood". Hopefully, we here partially fill that role!

Joe, be sure to tell your own UCG preachers to go get a job too. Fix your own house before telling Malm what to do. Or are you too much of a giant chicken?
