LCG's Simplistic View On Depression

You can learn more about depression in these 4 minutes
than you ever will in the LCG or reading one of its booklets.

Remember that this quote comes from a church that produced Terry Ratzmann who murdered several LCG members when he became depressed over hearing Rod Meredith's end-time hopelessness.  This is also the same church that has caused numerous suicides of members and teenagers who became depressed at their unworthiness after hearing endless sermons brow beating them. This is also the same church that refuses to speak out against abusive COG leaders of other splinter personality cults who have directly caused suicides of members.

Davey Crockett on The "Black Dog"
If you suffer from the “Black Dog” of depression, you may need professional or medical intervention to bring it under control. However, the eternal truths found in the Bible can bring peace of mind. Paul wrote to the church in Philippi, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
The cure for this is to write in to get LCG's booklet.  Hopelessness will disappear and warm fuzzy world tomorrow thoughts will immediately fill your head ending your depression.

On our website you will find our free booklet entitled What is a True Christian and other resources, which will be helpful if you or someone you care about is dealing with this widespread condition. Don’t delay; obtain this information. You will be glad you did.

Instead of advertising one of its nonsensical booklets Davey Crockett should have referred people to these resources:

Black Cats and Black Dogs ... unite against this racist and prejudicial treatment that they are receiving from society. By using there innately God created black characteristics as labels for negative human experiences, black cats and black dogs are suffering from increased persecution, animal cruelty, and false impressions.

This is "ministerial malpractice" at its finest.

I have family working at LCG HQ. I can assure you that depression is a MAJOR problem in LCG. There are many people trapped in that cult, who gave their whole lives to Armstrong and Meredith, and who would leave if it didn't mean abandoning their families, friends, and sometimes their livelihoods. The problem is that while they hate their present lives, and know they are living a lie, they don't think they have any better alternative. So, they tear themselves up inside, repressing their doubts and their sadness, until they are DEAD inside. "Living" Church of God is indeed a most ironic name for Meredith's cult.

The solution would be for the Flurrys and the ministry all become depressed and commit suicide.

It may cause problems at first, but in the end, people in the LCG would have much better mental health.

The Mafia leaders in the LCG are probably going into the Lake of Fire anyway, so this will shortcut the process and prevent prolonging the misery.

So there you have it — the Psychopath checklist.

It isn't necessary to apply this to just the LCG leadership -- we can save a lot of time and apply it to all the Cult of Herbert Armstrong Mafia leaders.

MY COMMENT - About 5 years ago, my mother died a faithful member of LCG after many years in WCG dating back to the the 1960s. As far as I am concerned, the moment she passed, Living Church of God became "a dead church". I sent Rod Meredith a letter informing him of my mother's death, asked him to remove her name from his mailing list, and put him on notice that his income stream would be going down as a result of her demise.

On a positive note, I will say that I am thankful to all the brethren and ministers who came and visited her in her final days. It was comforting to her and the LCG minister who performed her funeral was outstanding. No complaints there.

My mother believed in the Bible and the spin placed on it by Herbert W. Armstrong and Roderick C. Meredith. My mother and I were sometimes estranged because I left the Church in 1976 and never returned. I am an Ambassador College applicant reject - AND ALMOST 40 YEARS LATER, I AM PROUD OF IT!
