Wayne Turgeon On Being United With The Rock

The True Rock In Its Place Of Rightful Honor

Wayne Turgeon, the ever present king of nepotism at the Philadelphia Church of God cult compound penned a letter today for the PCG blog. He attempts to try and prove that the PCG is founded and stands firmly in Jesus Christ.  His article is laughable considering the fact that Herbert Armstrong is discussed and worshiped more than Jesus Christ has EVER been spoken on.

They named the cult compound's unaccredited "college" after him, they built a 20 million dollar monument to HWA imitating Ambassador Auditorium, they dug his supposed prayer rock out of the woods in Oregon and hauled it back to the cult compound where people pray and meditate in front of it. After losing the lawsuit for plagiarism they paid millions of dollars for the rights to publish HWA's booklets. They bought various items at auction that HWA had purchased like the candelabra's and Steinway piano.  The idolatry of HWA worship far exceeds any mention of Jesus Christ in the PCG.

United in the Rock

“[Y]e that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn …” (Isaiah 51:1). Abraham and Sarah are great examples of looking to the Rock from which Israel was cut. The picture here is that of a rock being chiseled out of a quarry. The same God who caused this royal couple to bring Israel into existence as a nation through the miracle birth of Isaac will cause them to flourish once again.

How solid is your foundation on the Rock? How cemented is your relationship with the Rock, our Husband, the foundation of this Church?

In Mr. Flurry’s first Feast of Tabernacles 2010 sermon, he gave the Church new revelation from Genesis 28, which describes the origin of the stone of destiny. The stones Jacob used for his pillow became united as one pillar stone. Mr. Flurry said this miraculous event was analogous to us becoming married to Jesus Christ—the Rock!

We are going to become one stone with Christ! We should be growing in unity with our Husband even now. Then, at our birth into God’s Family, our incredible future together will begin in earnest!

From the old Paul Simon song "LOVES ME LIKE A ROCK" (with background from the great black gospel group "The Dixie Hummingbirds") ...

Sing Along!...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3BJl5Zy7HQ

"Loves Me Like The Rock"

When I was a little boy
And the Devil would call my name
I'd say "now who do ...
Who do you think you're fooling?"
I'm a consecrated boy
Singer in Sabbath choir
Flurry loves me, he loves me
I give him 3 tithes and he hugs me
He loves me like the rock
He rocks me like the rock of ages
And he loves me

When I was grown to be a man
And the Devil would call my name
I'd say "now who do . ..
Who do you think you're fooling?"
I'm a consummated man
I can snatch a little purity
My Flurry loves me, he loves me
I give him 3 tithes and he hugs me
He loves me like the rock
He rocks me like the rock of ages
And he loves me

If I was an apostle too...
And the Congregation called my name
I'd say "who do ...
Who do you think you're fooling?"
I've got the Philadelphian Seal
I'm up on the Philadelphian Podium
My Flurry loves me
He loves me
I give him 3 tithes and he hugs me
And he loves me like the rock
He rocks me like the rock of ages
And he loves me
He loves me, loves me, loves me, loves me

Bravo, Connie!

Scripture is said to, is supposed to INSPIRE us . . . but what need of quoting the Holy Bible, or doing it very much, when we can refer to an old sermon, talk more about that, and especially one made by the man to whom we offer praise and adulation -- so we can keep our job and be part of the elite group that SPENDS the money.

Wayne is repeating suck-up comments made directly TO the man right after the sermon was just given, I'm sure.

Not comfy with getting stoned with Jesus or being married to him being male myself... Pluse he'll be married to lots of other so I'd feel so cheap, unspecial and unloved

Just sayin...

Those people(PCG)emphasize that "government is everything". I was told this many times by a member (male)whom used this PCG saying to get me to OBEY a certain minister, which only lead to lies, deceit, divorce and disfellowship.

The truth is...
Wayne Turgeon has to go along with everything Gerald Flurry commands because he is married to GF's daughter. And why wouldn't he? Wayne Turgeon has it made with the position he has at >headquarters<.
He and his are living their "Kingdom of God" now.

Supposedly the PCG's commission is to warn the Laodiceans, you know those that are "lukewarm", headed for the lake of fire, ...all the followers of HWA that are not in the PCG now.

warn them?...seriously??

Such an ego trip!

Jesus was not on an ego trip, so that ROCK they are referring to is just that for them...a rock they are idolizing and praying to.

All this talk about how Jacob took several stones and they were changed into one stone actually comes from Herman Hoeh. He says that in the July 1953 issue of The Plain Truth, p. 9.

The "new revelation" Wayne Turgeon talks about seems to be Flurry's gloss that this is symbolic of PCG members uniting in Christ (which he says can only be done in PCG.) This is very typical of Flurry. Most of his "new revelation" is either himself repeating what he said in Malachi's Message or something fairly simply hidden under a mass of verbiage to make it sound impressive.

PCG uses HWA to promote themselves more then Christ. Their booklets often talks about how great HWA was, how great the reader supposedly will be if they "just" join PCG, but little about Christ is actually there in PCG. They use HWA's image and an idealized, nostalgic memory of him to unite PCG members together and to condemn the other COG groups in order to lure members of other COG groups into their fold (and take their tithes money).

Many COGs tend to not emphasize HWA so much in order to pretend that all their doctrines came from the Bible. The fact that they are just imitating HWA tends to be hidden to the non-COG reader. (Of course HWA plagiarized many of his ideas from other sources as is well known.)

I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

I guess Wayne and Gerry hate God.

Maybe they need a brazen snake on a pole. You never know when you'll be bitten out there in Oklahoma.

Or worst case scenario, they could drive off poisonous snakes with rocks -- maybe even using The Rock.

Because when you are in trouble, we all know, the ends justify the means.

'Course, the poisonous snakes may leave them alone as a professional courtesy (but you'd better look around The Rock before you pray before it, just to be sure).

But the Stone of Scone was actually broken in the 50s. What does that say about the marriage?
