God's Most Highly Favored Prophet INCENSED That Some LCG Members Celebrate Birthdays

God's most favorite end-time prophet to ever exist (sorry Davie Pack-it's not you) is getting bent all out of shape over some Living Church of God members who DARED to think for themselves and voice the opinion that it is not wrong to celebrate birthdays.  HOW DARE THEY!  Don't those heathen laodiceans know that the minute they cut into the cake they allow Satan a portal into their mind?

Ended up getting some type of a link to a Facebook discussion of claimed (mainly) LCG members who were discussing and basically advocating the celebration of birthdays. This has been a problem in LCG in the past, and apparently this is growing--that is disturbing.

While I was in LCG, some would complain to me that various ones there were celebrating birthdays and I told them that LCG taught against the celebration of them (which it presumably still does, though not all there realize this).  Bob Thiel

He also has a funny article up where he claims the departure from whole corn caused pellagra in the Southern states, which is not true. Its not whether you use whole corn, stripped corn or GMO corn... its whether A) you are consuming enough niacin from other sources or B) the corn has been nixtamalized.

The discovery of maize in the New World actually caused issues when colonists tried to use it as a staple food. Without knowledge of the nixtamalization process, they began to contract pellagra and wondered why the local Indians (who know better) didn't.

Sorry Bob.

Gee. What does one do, as a birthday-celebrating ACOG member, if one's birthday falls on the sabbath or Day of Atonement? Would it be OK to fire up a nice Sancho Panza on the DoA?

I think that if I had my choice, I'd want to have my birthday during the F/T! You could rent a Ferrari 458 or Porsche Panamera, foreshadowing what birthdays will be like in the Millennium. If you happened to be Joel Hellacre, you could even fantasize about who your passenger might be!

By outlawing birthdays and doctors, Herbie pretty much elliminated the possibility of conflict between these things and the sabbath or offerings.

Dear Bob:

Happy Birthday to You!...

Your Church is a Zoo...

You preach like a Monkey...

and you SMELL like one too!

Herbie celebrated birthdays and ate on Atonement.

Rod celebrates birthdays, eats on Atonement and has shared an occasional cigar with a friend.

Why do members shackle themselves to more troublesome lists of "thou shalt not" than their leaders do?

Hey, Bob Thiel:

Shouldn't you be prophesying about ebola or something? You know, tying it into the gay community or others to whom you object?

Don't much celebrate birthdays, but will be happy to celebrate death dates, such as Roderick Meredith's when his number comes up.

I do find it a little funny that Rod was the one writing about not celebrating birthdays in WCG and I think he wrote an article in Global, but everyone knew his family celebrated birthdays.Do as I say and not as I do.

Any significance to the fact that he wrote, and still writes, so much against homosexuality?

I took 1st yr theology under ol' Rod, and found it disturbing that he constantly referred to homosexuality & Charles Atlas (famous body builder of Rod's youth). Rod yearned to have Charles's bod, yet bragged that he was wiry strong for his size & a Golden Gloves boxer. His fixation on Atlas was weird even at the time. Wasn't til yrs later that I decided Rod was a narcissist & possibly gay as well. Also remember that in 1970 he suffered a detached retina (handball injury) & got special dispensation from Herbie for surgery, from hence came Herbie's modification of the healing doctrine to widen the "repair" definition. Up til then, the sheeple in the field were being told that retina repair surgery was WRONG & to trust God to fix it or learn to live with a blind eye.

Rod has always over compensated for his lack of masculinity.
