The LCG has been one of the churches being slammed on here in the last little while and maybe rightly so, but this article here which is simply a hate comment is of no value at all, it only opens the door for more more hate comments, it's as if there's nothing or no one else to talk about, everyone else must be doing a good job.

Anon@11:10. I don't know why you are upset with this picture. It illustrates very well the condition of the church. As an LCG member I find this is what is currently happening. Those at the top live lives of constant denial while we struggle to maintain some threads of sanity as we work our way out of this sinking ship. I have spent well over 40 years in the church having grown up in it so I know well it's inner workings. It's a mess and the leadership of the church refuses to do anything about it, even after they read the discontent of members here. I see no hope for this church to continue on untill there is massive repentance of the leadership. That repentance needs to start with Mr. Meredith himself!

If you watch the ministers in the chain of command of most COG, you will see this is true. They say don't do as I do, do as I say.
An few examples comes to mind. In WW we sold oranges a few times, I noticed the minister JK, did not help the members sort and load vehicles. As we worked he took his and left. Ever notice at meals or events they only hang around with other mucky mucks.
But they shall get there reward.

Anon 4:16 AM,

You wrote: "...That repentance needs to start with Mr. Meredith himself! ..."

Since Rod Meredith left his ministerial credentials behind in Pasadena, which may well be an excellent demonstration that God is not working with Rod at all, here is a verse to further demonstrate Rod has not been granted repentance.

Repentance does not start with Rod: the individual. Here's a proof:

"Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" Romans 2:4

One must be led to repentance by God...by God's goodness; it's not Rod's choice!

How about repentance of Israel? Same thing:

Acts 5:30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins."

God did not even begin to grant repentance to Israel until "Christ our Passover" came on the world's scene was murdered, resurrected 3 days and 3 nights later, left earth to be accepted by His Father and then, like a second coming, returned to earth for a 40 day period before leaving again.

If Rod is to demonstrate repentance, then God must give it.

"In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;" 2 Timothy 2:25

Rod's lack of repentance appears, so far, to prove God has not been working with Rod Meredith while he was in WCG, Globaal, Living......and time will tell, if it hasn't already done so. It appears God must really be working elsewhere with others...

In the early 1980s, when I was attending Worldwide in Pasadena, I was hit with a stomach virus and couldn't seem to shake it after a pretty rough couple of days. I regained enough strength to make a trip to the store for some Pepto, juice, etc. and decided to stop at the Hall of Administration to be anointed. It was a Friday afternoon.

I entered the local church office and was face to face with one of the pastors who now chairs the council of elders of one of the splinters. He was dressed casually and was sitting on the corner of a desk in the lobby, talking to someone in a side office. I knew him, said hello, told him I'd been ill and asked to be anointed. I was shocked at his response. He said they were getting ready to leave for a department camping trip that afternoon and that he was too busy, and referred me to the Church Administration office upstairs. I stared at him for a moment with, I'm sure, a look of disbelief on my face. He just looked back at me. I thought, we're supposed to call on the elders of the church, and that's what I'm doing, so there's no way he could be saying no, is there? So I asked again if he could just take a minute to do this for me. He reiterated that he was too busy but that someone upstairs would be able to help. He was doing nothing, just sitting there shooting the breeze with someone else in the office. Even the look on his face let me know that he couldn't be bothered with my request. I was stunned. I turned around slowly and left.

I very nearly walked out of the building and out of the church. Instead I went upstairs to the Church Administration office, and was able to be anointed. But the attitude of that Pasadena "pastor" was not lost on me. It was, from my experience, consistent with the attitudes of so many pastors and Pasadena department heads who regularly lorded over people with a lofty view of their titles and offices.

Over the years I began to realize that it was not possible to separate such attitudes from the doctrines and practices taught by HWA and Co. The hierarchy, the control, the capriciousness, and the downright shoddy scholarship had everything to do with what was taught and why. It appears that it continues today, which I guess shouldn't come as a surprise. Personally, I moved on 20 years ago. It's sad to see that people remain under the grip of such controlling tactics in the various COG organizations.

That can't be Lil Jimmy's sinking boat. His would be much larger.

Hey that gave me an idea... Maybe NCIS Jim needs to buy a yacht with tithe payer money. That way he could sail to Hawaii 3-4 times a year instead of taking all those pesky flights in business class. He does so love to selflessly serve the brethren!

It reminds me of the Titanic. There are some in LCG that are keenly aware the ship is sinking and looking for an escape/ life raft. Others continue to play music on the (poop) deck acting as if nothing is happening while the chaos unfolds around them. While still others are like the Billy Zain character (RCM, Jim and McNair) who are willing to step on the backs of and drown others just to keep themselves afloat for a little longer.

Has anyone else noticed that the LCG posts on this blog rise to the top of "most popular stories today" and stay there the longest (over stories of other ACOG groups)? Has anyone else noticed the crazy onslaught of visits in NC and MO (the states with the largest LCG congregations)? And yet Meredith continues to say "all is well, we are pure and unified". I'm not sure if he keeps repeating that to more convince himself or his sheeple.

Wake up Spanky! The people have seen your character and the character of your SS henchmen and are appalled. Mean and vendictive isn't Godly. You will reap what you have sown.

I could be wrong, but my first guess would be, well, I don't want to say his name, but his initials are Robin Webber.

Whoops! My bad.

My guess is John Kennedy or Ben Faulkner...now there was a total self-righteous ass!

Not to worry, 11:10. The attitude of elitism and entitlement runs pervasively through all of the Armstrong groups. Unfortunately, it is caused by the very doctrinal approach. The only way to eliminate it and still keep the doctrines, is to avoid the authority structure completely, and just practice the beliefs by yourself, at home. The minute as few as two or three families agree to worship and fellowship together, someone always seems to need to be in charge, and it's all downhill from there. Ever notice that you can't just be friends on equal terms with your ACOG minister, deacon, or even assistant deacon? He'll always let you know. At some point he'll pull rank on you!

It is not just Jimmy that gets a big salary... His half brother David gets a big salary too and gets his education paid for by the church.
He does little for the church and lives in Louisiana now. Having been asked to leave HQ because of some sex problems. But they still pay him (he works from home) and goes to expensive seminars so he can learn a trade so Daddy does not have to support him anymore.
