A Father Writes Letter to His Children in the Dangerous Philadelphia Church of God Cult: "Tell my children I love them."

The following is a letter that a man on Facebook who has written to his children who are members of the Philadelphia Church of God personality cult.  Gerald Flurry, the leader of the Philadelphia Church of God, has a long and deadly history of enforcing the vile polices that he has created to keep his members under control.  PCG members have committed suicide over these policies, parents have thrown teenage children out on the street, parents have turned their backs on the children and children have turned against their parents.  One family was even encourage to take their disabled child to the mall and abandon him so that the State could take care of him.

Gerald Flurry has long held himself up as the Elijah to come and God's personal representative on earth today.  If Flurry was truly an Elijah then he would be doing the following COMMAND from God:

5"Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. 6"He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse." Malachi 4:5-6
Or

Luke 1:17
And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
Here is what Dan Moffett wrote to The Edmond Life and Leisure Facebook  page:

I'm going to post it on as many Edmond and OK city pages I can find, and send it to the local news papers

Tell my children I love them.

I wish I could hear from them on Father's day.

I haven't heard from them in 3 years. They are in the Philadelphia Church of God. A controlling cult that cuts children off from parents and parents from children. The dictatorial leader Gerald Flurry has issued an edict that says members can have NO contact with family members that are not in the church. Members have committed suicide because of this evil family destroying ruling.

My oldest son Nathan Moffett and my youngest daughter Elise Moffett are in the cult and have been prevented form contacting me, my youngest son, my daughter and granddaughters. The cult has destroyed my family.

When my oldest daughter and her family were told that they could have no contact with me and when they were told I was not allowed to see my granddaughter, they left the cult.

When you attend events at Armstrong Auditorium you support the family destroying cult. They don't allow interracial dating or even dancing. They believe they are God's ONLY TRUE Church and Gerald Flurry is THAT PROPHET, he is THE APOSTLE, god on earth.

TELL MY CHILDREN I LOVE THEM, PLEASE!"

MY COMMENT - This is another oxymoron. Everyone knows Gerald Flurry has no personality...at least not until he has consumed a six pack. Then the personality comes out!

Gerald Flurry has blood on his hands.

True Christians should be sensible and decent, or should at least be working towards becoming sensible and decent.

Gerald Flurry is teaching his followers to be stupid and evil, if they were not already that way to begin with.

Puts me in mind of the occasion when my mom called me, just after I wrote that I left WCG.

My dad got on the phone to talk, too – something that hadn’t happened in YEARS! This was my assurance that I had done the right thing!

That anyone would sacrifice the opportunity, held out by a loving dad like the gentleman shown here, to stay with ANY man’s organization is beyond rational belief. But OMG this is Flurry!

Gerald Flurry thinks he’s HWA, and has somehow convinced a few others he is just as good, by repeating the same old phrases and rehashing the same old arguments for what he calls “the truth.” When Flurry’s local group, in my area, began to syphon away from local WCG, it was an alarming thing. But now it’s more than 25 years later – what worthwhile is there to show for all those years? Sticking with Flurry, at the expense of family relationships, only too ably demonstrates the HUMAN CAPACITY FOR STUPID.

Yes, YOU, PCGers! And no, I don’t have a demon.

I wonder which is more difficult-

1) Members of PCG going outside their guidelines to connect with "non-PCG" family members,

...or...

2) "Non-PCG" family members taking the effort to try and connect with their PCG-member parents, etc.

In the handful of examples I've witnessed, it's always been #1, and never #2.

I realize this is a small sampling (about a dozen examples that I know of), but wonder if this must continue.

After all, things do change. Even the conservative Governor of South Carolina has asked that the Confederate battle flag which was placed atop the South Carolina Statehouse Dome in the 1960s as an official protest against the civil rights movement, and after mass protests was moved to the Statehouse grounds in 2000 as part of a compromise, is calling for it's removal now.
