Let's Party!!!!! COG False Prophet Declares That Tribulation CANNOT Start Till 2020

It is always such a relief when Church of God prophets declare that the end is not going to be happening by certain dates.  This is in sharp contrast to the many men in the COG who for many decades have been entertained us with one failed prophecy after another.

With our two Canadian frauds, Malm and Henry, making their worthless declarations recently we are now blessed to have Bob Thiel give us the RIGHT information.  Thiel is much more enlightened than any of the other COG prophets are and therefore has the CORRECT timeline direct from his god.   Ever since he bamboozled Gaylyn Bonjour into "doubly blessing " him, Thiel has let the world know that God is only working through him and a few hundred African members.

Because Thiel is now the sole possessor of all things Godly, he has left Rod Meredith, Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry quaking in their HQ's with embarrassment.

Thiel's latest declaration was made on July 6, 2015. He says that the tribulation CANNOT start until 2019.

When is the earliest year that the Great Tribulation can?

Various ones seem to feel that it can begin in 2015 or 2016 or that it already started some time ago.

Those who believe and understand what the Bible actually teaches realize that the Great Tribulation cannot begin before 2019.

At this instant, unless we see more major conflict in the Middle East between now and the end of the Summer, it is unlikely that the Great Tribulation can begin prior to 2020.

When the Black Gentile (in COG righteous British Israelite eyes) was elected to the office of President in the United States COG prophets went into catatonic fits.  Even Thiel had to weigh in with this:
The Great Tribulation is coming, but it will not begin in 2015. And, as I announced within days after Barack Obama was re-elected, I did not believe that it would can begin until after his second term ended. And as of July 7, 2015, I do not believe that it can begin prior to 2019.
Now that we have a few more years to party and enjoy life, lets not waste it by following these duplicitous morons.

When is the silliness of Bob Thiel/James Malm/et al going to end?

Where can they find "The Great Tribulation" in the entire Bible?

Now, Jesus Christ told us this:

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Now, that was told to those who were to become sealed Firstfruits almost 2,000 years ago! Those of God's Church will have tribulation so long as they are in the world.

And if the truth were known, all humanity has been undergoing some sort of tribulation since the very day Satan was introduced into the Garden of Eden to infest/infect the minds of both Adam and Eve.

Silliness? All I say after hearing so many false prophecies and lies for decades from Thiel, Malm, et al, regarding "The Great Tribulation" is "Duh and go read about the father of lies in John 8:44 who has infected/infested each of their minds to one degree or another!"

If it weren't for you, nobody would know about Thiel, LOL. Is he still doing crooked little videos from a crooked little desk in front of a crooked little bookcase and a crooked little curtain?

While it is true that it's impossible for the "tribulation" to start prior to the 2019-2020 apocalypse season, it's also not true that this is the earliest it could happen, since the earliest it could happen is year ∞.

In early 1975, some friends and I were at the Long Beach Arena for the "Farewell Humble Pie" concert. Supposedly, an early version of Journey opened the show, but I only remember enduring Iron Butterfly's session while waiting for the Pie to take the stage.

Now remember, we didn't have a forty year cushion of additional failed prophecy in March or April of 1975, so you've got to forgive the young Caucasian for halfway wondering if somehow ol' Herman had gotten the calculations a bit off, and just maybe the Germans were still going to come. So, somewhere, in the middle of the awful gothic noise that was Iron Butterfly, I started fixating on German tanks rolling through the Long Beach Arena, where we had previously endured the Feast of Tabernacles services of the old WCG! Finally, I realized that if that ultimately ended up happening, it really didn't matter! I'd already been through the tribulation of spending my teenage and young adulthood in Armstrongism, and there really wasn't a heck of a lot "the Germans" could do to us that hadn't already been done by the supposed "Church of God".

There really is no excuse for the persistence in bogus prognostication now having gone on longer than the supposed two time cycles which HWA had taught us that he would have to get the work done, one of the three math equations which had been given to support 1975 as the end. Perseveration is usually indicative of brain damage! These false prophets are just coo coo for Cocoa Puffs!

John, you should read Matt 24:21, Rev 2:22, and Rev 7;14. While I don't endorse Thiel or Malm, ignorance is not bliss.

Thiel is a sad person.
Can you address some of the weirdness of the church sometime? Like why it was okay for HWA to be baptized by a trinity believing Baptist yet he declared they were not real Christians at all.
Was he really as insincere as he seems from what I have read?

Keep in mind that those who persist in setting dates will in the end set a date that is too late.

These days, if the Great Tribulation started, would anyone notice?

Q: "Was he really as insincere as he seems from what I have read?"

A: "One time I was going to, there was an open house, over at Jet Propulsion Lab and I was being taken over there by David Antion who was Shirley Armstrong's sister's husband, and there was a couple who were not in the church, from back east, and they knew that I was Herbert Armstrong's grandson. And they just asked me, 'Well, is Herbert Armstrong the wonderful, caring, loving, kind, gentle, Christian kind of man that he seems to be?' And my answer was a single word, 'No' ... It was embarrassing, but I just had to tell her the truth. No, he wasn't as he appeared at all. And so if people are basing their beliefs and their desire to be in that church upon the character of its founder, they're making a mistake." —Larry Gott

Was he really as insincere as he seems from what I have read?

I would answer that by saying YES. HWA was a con from the very beginning. He spent six months in a library studying the doctrines of various religions and took as his own the ones that made sense to him. Was Yahweh involved in his choices? I would have to say yes, at least for the main ones.

The main ones being: heaven, hell, soul, death, spirit in man, no trinity, the Sabbath, the holy days, no easter, and no christmas, etc., etc. Now this is my opinion. What he found and accepted as truth, as per above, is what I also proved to myself to be correct.

Where HWA failed is in: government of God, tithes, positions of leadership, and the big one, in prophecy. He blew it here by accepting some weird ideas of Germany and a resurrection of a 'holy' Roman Empire. This part is pure nonsense. Germans can be proven to be Nordic rather than Assyrian.

HWA (Hebrew meaning 'covet' was a coveter and egoist from the beginning. He admitted his obsession in his books, but failed to state and prove that he was truly repentant. His actions prove otherwise. How does one go on for 10 years comitting incest and still be converted. He was also a quick tempered hot wire that blamed the flock for his lack of financial management. In addition, he lived like a king and cared little for the flock who struggled to get by. This is not the actions of a converted person. He lacked compassion and showed very little wisdom in his decisions. Surely Yahweh was not at the top of his list. His own family turned against him. Surely he was not turning any hearts here, as was prophesied for the coming Elijah.

But Yahweh did use him. He used his ambition to build an assembly and to proclaim the gospel. This he did and could be said to be the only feather in his cap. HWA could be better understood when one studies Zech.11 where it speaks of an idol sheppard. HWA fulfilled this to a T. No one else even comes close.

The church was scattered and it was prophesied to happen. Those that are hoping that the church will some day come back as one, are going to be disappointed. The prophecy shows that it isn't and it isn't Yahweh's will.

Anon 5:27 AM,

All verses you cite refer to "great tribulation:" not "THE Great Tribulation," which so many people believe and preach is going to happen any day now (and that has been cited for more years/decades than we want to even think about.

I suggest you read the scriptures regarding what Satan will do to this entire earth AFTER that vile, evil, thing is loosed from the bottomless pit.......and that is over a 1,000 years from today! If you do that you may discover "The Great Tribulation," which will be far worse than anything this earth's inhabitants will experience just prior to Satan going into that pit.

Humanity has been experiencing "great tribulation" for thousands of years now.

Virtually every day now, approximately 30,000 to 40,000 children die daily b/c of lack of food and proper sanitary conditions. That alone is a "great tribulation" happening daily right before our very eyes/ears.

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years ARE EXPIRED, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

And that worldwide deception and battle is yet to occur AFTER the 1,000 years!

You may want to ask yourself, if you believe those 2 verses and the great tribulation that will spew forth from Satan, and answer:

"Where was/is Jesus Christ during that time of great worldwide tribulation?"

And I do agree with you: ignorance is not bliss....

Sorry, John, but Matt 24:21 reads "for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." This is a worst-ever event to never be equaled according to Jesus Himself. That is what has lead to the phrase "the great tribulation." While many people individually suffer "great tribulation" and the horrors that occur in our world is devastating and appalling, they are nothing in comparison to the scope and events of what will happen during the time period described in various places in the Bible. If you want to get hung up on the phrase, "the great tribulation," then you can quibble over words. None of us want to go through it and experience it. It will be worst time in the history of man.

Anon 1:41 PM,

Exactly, you are correct in what you are saying; however, that particular unique tribulation time you believe is going to happen soon, BEFORE Satan's enters the bottomless pit.

And I believe that unique tribulation time occurs AFTER Satan is loosed from the bottomless pit and Satan realizes just how SHORT his time really is as that vile, evil, thing approaches its time when it will no longer exist. That thing will not again go into some bottomless pit.

"All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." Ezekiel 28:19

Satan has a lot to do with the deaths of human beings:

"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;" Hebrews 2:14

Death is the last enemy. Until that Devil and death are taken care of by God's victory over them both of the following verses can/will not be reality:

Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God."

:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

The victory over the Devil and death must first occur before verses 3 and 4 are fulfilled. Satan knows that and when that thing exits, is loosed from, the pit, with a short/little time/season, it is going to bring about "the great tribulation" that you have in mind...a very unique time in humanity's history yet to occur.

We need not quibble over words. You may believe what you wish. Time will tell...

"...however, that particular unique tribulation time you believe..."

"...And I believe..."

"... You may believe what you wish..."

Hmm. Not to single any single person out here, but "beliefs" sure are convenient, self-validating little things, aren't they? I believe in Zeus and Thor because they do a better job than Yeahway at stroking my ego and making me feel better than other people, more righteous than you, and more correct in general on whatever topic might come up for discussion.

Why don't y'all come back and write some more when you KNOW something, instead of just "believing" things. I sympathize, however. Knowledge takes work, while "believing" just takes reclining in your la-z-boy wishing upon imaginary stars.

I am not familiar with the La-Z-Boy wishing, nor the "believing" you have in mind.

The "believe" I had in mind was based upon the following knowledge:

"And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power," Ephesians 1:19

Sorry, "believing" one ancient "holy" book (to the exclusion of other ancient "holy" books) is not knowledge. It's just more of that "believing" you say you're not familiar with, with a dollop of special pleading to boot. Sorry, not trying to single you out though. You're not alone in making these (serious) errors.
