Is God Punishing the LCG Leadership With Strokes?

Bob Thiel had a comment up today about another leader in the Living Church of God who has had a stroke.  This is apparently the third leader to suffer a stroke.  You can see from Thiel's comment below that he feels his god is punishing the LCG leadership.  Thiel has been bragging over the past few days  that his "work" is the ONLY Church of God group growing and actually preaching the gospel. Theil feels that LCG is rife with sin.

Bruce Tyler is the third high-level LCG leader that comes to mind being hit by a type of stroke. LCG's Presiding Evangelist Roderick C. Meredith and his assistant, his son Jim, are the other two. Bruce Tyler

Does this mean God gave Bob Thiel a retarded, developmentally disabled child as a sign of God's favor?

People who live in glass houses should NOT throw stones, Bitter Bob!

Bitter Bob indeed. Vindictive too!

This is so juvenile and laughable! These people are aging. As we age, we become vulnerable to things that the majority of us didn't have to worry about when our physical bodies were young, supple and energetic, but it can happen to some younger people as well. I, for example have to take a baby aspirin everyday and a couple of pills for high blood pressure, but I'm 81, for crying out loud. Nothing like that was necessary until just recently and all it means is that my "drive train" isn't what it once was and the warrantee has just about run it's course. That's life.

And if a God induced stroke won't do it, then God will smite them with bad weather...in season.

Dave Pack is a bit vindictive as well. He has stated that everyone who has ever opposed him has either died or will die someday or something like that...

Thiel just gave Dave Pack some ammo. 3 strokes? Dave's only problem now is somehow spiritualizing 3 strokes into 3 fiery deaths to fulfill his crappy false prophecy.

Three! A significant occurrence! A TREND! A fulfillment of ...

The deluded desire of some self-important ass to 'see' God's hand, see it doing what he (the ass) thinks God should do.

Remember when just ONE 'world event' had Herbert saying, "Prophecy is speeding up!"? Not much later, it slowed down again -- the world went on as before -- but that was never acknowledged.

Sheesh. Isn't there anything REALLY DIFFERENT or NEW any of these guys can say?

I wouldn't mind knowing if these stroke victims have a history of exercising. Often when people become 'important,' they come to believe that exercise is just for the peasants.

Unknown said...

They must not be following HWAs advice from the autobiography, which stated that exercise was not necessary, just a brisk daily rubdown with a "Turkish Towel".

It's easy to grow any work, if you start with small numbers. If l have 10 members and then l grow to 15 members, wow, a 50% increase. God must be blessing me.

No, much to Bob's chagrin, God is too busy right now helping Russell Wilson win football games.

David C Pack: "Everyone who has challenged me has either died, been seriously injured or has been eliminated from the work."

While these threats of David C. Pack's might seem scary to some people, it is still best to resist and oppose him. Everyone who fully SUPPORTS him will end up being deceived, robbed, emasculated, seriously injured, made destitute, then eliminated from his Restored Cash Grab (so they cannot request any third-tithe assistance after being made destitute), and finally left to die alone anyway.

David Pack attracted former Worldwide Church of God people by claiming to be holding faithfully to everything that Herbert W. Armstrong had taught at the time of HWA's death in January 1986. However, all the tithes (including misappropriated third tithe), offerings, building fund donations, fundraisers (now mandatory for everyone in DCP's RCG forever) were still not enough. So DCP “restored” the idea of “common,” which meant that everyone was required to turn over to him everything they had--“or no salvation if you don't.” Since DCP had supposedly restored HWA's teachings PLUS this new “common” teaching, DCP reasoned that he (and not HWA) must be the one prophesied to come in the spirit and power of Elijah to restore ALL things.

Many of the people who went with DCP, and proudly thought that they were solid followers of HWA's teachings, were suddenly required in 2015 (after three two-hour sermons full of 130 mind-numbing non-proofs) to switch and believe that DCP was the Elijah, and that HWA had been wrong and was not the Elijah after all. Any solid followers of HWA's teaching on this matter, as they were required to be over the previous 14 years in the RCG, had to be flexible enough to go along with this sudden complete doctrinal change or else be called “idolaters” and risk being put out of the RCG and losing everything that they had actually already lost anyway.

The TERRIFYING SIGNIFICANCE of this MAJOR DOCTRINAL CHANGE is that David C. Pack is now totally free to “restore” (that is, to make up and/or change) whatever teaching he wants to. DCP's past history suggests that his non-comforting assurance that he has probably already restored just about everything that needs to be restored could actually be the SIGNAL to God's people that his massive doctrinal changes away from what HWA had taught are just getting started.

While it is natural to feel sorry for people with these unfortunate and tragic problems, you must be very careful. The error, confusion, division, and disaster that such people can bring is very scary when you think about it. Do you want to be around such things for the rest of your own life?

It looks like God had also previously given Bob Thiel's father a retarded, developmentally disabled child. Bob Thiel studied pagan Mayan, Kenyan and Catholic prophecies thinking that Satan and his Demons know the future and can reveal true prophecies to the pagans. Bob Thiel now claims to be a prophet himself and to be leading the true Continuing Church, as he calls his new splinter group. Bob Thiel got a Living Church minister to anoint him for some ailment and then retroactively claimed that he had been anointed by it to the office of prophet. Some would say that, “You can't make this stuff up.” But, obviously, someone can make such stuff up.

This really is all very sad, tragic, and unfortunate. Some people do not hate Bob Thiel. In fact, they feel sorry for him and his predicament, some of which his own dishonesty got him into. Even Roderick Meredith tried to tell him gently in a letter that he had begun to think of himself in terms that are “not realistic.” Now that is certainly a mild way to put it whenever another retarded, developmentally disabled, demon-influenced, false prophet pops up on the COG scene!

The only thing that prevents this from being an even bigger disaster is that Bob Thiel does not have very many followers. Mostly, he just has black people in Africa trying to take advantage of him, while he is trying to take advantage of white people in America. If he had more followers, he could do more harm, like other false prophets with more suckers do.

If you were ever to listen to his ideas, get fooled by them, and waste your time, energy, and money supporting his rubbish, you would have plenty of reason to feel very sorry for your own self!!!

All these church leaders giving themselves fancy pants titles such as Armstrongs 'The Chosen Apostle,' or the Elijah or The Prophet etc.
Didn't Christ say 'call no man your master.' These titles are obvious substitutes for Master. This smells of stealing Gods responsibilities. These are brave or foolish men.

"Is God Punishing the LCG Leadership With Strokes?"

I don't know, is he? I'm serious. I really don't know. I am agnostic about this.

Neither does Bitter Bob. And yet, by posing this leading question, he is, in time-honored tradition, suggesting that he has some clairvoyance, some insight into the "esoteric" that you do not have, such that the answer to this stupid question is "Probably yes." He is pretending to know things he doesn't know.

Any survey of actual human "knowledge" however, shows the answer to Bob's latest Hail Mary guess is "Probably no."

Bob has been doing this for years now, throwing out wild guesses, hoping that statistically something will stick, and declaring victory and authority for himself when, statistically, something could possibly be construed as sticking, meanwhile conveniently forgetting the overwhelming majority of things that didn't. He's a little, unimportant man pretending to be something he's not.

These strokes--- Did Thiel speculate by any chance that they might be punishment for watching NFL football games on TV??? I know he's always had a bug up his butt about that.

Heh. One thing you are not going to hear from ACOG preachers this sabbath is: "Well, it is so sad that David Bowie has passed away, and please remember his wife and family in your prayers, but at least we know that now he won't have to go through the tribulation!"

"Is God Punishing the LCG Leadership With Strokes?"

Yes.
God is punishing Bitter Bob and the LCG with Diff'rent Strokes.

Arnold is climbing on Bitter Bob's Bookcase- toppling it over- while Willis is running around during UCG's Sabbath services telling everyone he's the new Terry Ratzmann.

(Blessed is the occasional deaconess who confronts the New Ratzmann, and chases him away by saying, "What you talkin' bout Willis?")

The "God must be punishing " so and so is simply superstitious baloney on the part of Bitter Bob. Anon 5:06 was spot on. When my brother was born at six months, weighing 1.5 lbs oxygen was poured on to save him. It managed to burn destroy his sight and hearing and thus his ability to speak as well. The Presbyterian minister implied to my young parents that "you must have done something for God to give this son to you." He made my mom especially feel dirty and she spent the rest of her beautiful life proving him wrong by being proper about EVERYTHING and taking wonderful care of herself to where dad, in his 60's at the time commented to me in the car as he watched her walk across the lot to the store, "a women shouldn't look that good". I'm not sure what dad felt about that minister's bogus view but I know how it affected mom.

I suspect my brother's circumstances lead me to feel as a child I had to fix the whole world after growing up visiting him weekly in the State Hospital. It's all connected.

If I were a family member or loved on of those who have suffered these strokes, which simply occur as part of living for some, and read Bitter Bob's comments and opinions, I'd either give him call or drop by his world headquarters and have a "little chat" about it.

The compassion of some prone to being God haunted as Bitter Bob can be quite lacking. "He will have no mercy who shows no mercy"

Actually, Bitter Bob and Apistol Pack need to apologize for their ignorant, rude, judgmental and self absorbed selves. They need to find out the vast difference between Gospel Jesus and Revelation Jesus who they tend to like so much more. They aren't the same character
