Philadelphia Church of God: "... most of these ministers had a copy of Hitler's book, Mein Kampf in plain view on their desks or in their bookcase."

This not so shocking statement was on Exit and Support:

July 28, 2016
The recent letters concerning Gerald Flurry's new ruling about the no-contact with unbaptized children should be a serious warning to all families that have any idea of joining the PCG or any other offshoot of the WCG. During the many years my family and I were in the PCG we were invited on numerous occasions to dine with ministers at their homes. It was horrifying to note that most of these ministers had a copy of Hitler's book, Mein Kampf in plain view on their desks or in their bookcase. [Note from ESN: Read letter: HWA Used Mein Kampf as a Guide in Controlling People]

Flurry claims to be preaching the Gospel to the world which is full of unbaptized people. What gospel is he preaching? Has anyone ever heard Flurry, or any minister in the PCG, preach a sermon on the Gospel of Grace or the New Covenant?
Flurry, to the best of my knowledge, has never referred to Deuteronomy 4:13; 44-45; 5:22 & 31. The Old Covenant is completed, and Christ Himself introduced the New Covenant and the New Commandments. John 13:34; 14:15; 14:21 & 23; 15:12.& 17.
It is amazing how so many people who have left the PCG and other offshoots continue to keep Saturday as the Sabbath and all the holy days throughout the year.

Be warned, stay away from the PCG and all other offshoots preaching the gospel of Herbert Armstrong, and which continue to demand tithe after tithe, and all the holy day offerings. --Former PCG member

These PCG ministers are emulating Herbert Armstrong.  He had a copy that was kept in the safe in the basement of his house along with books on Mormons, Adventists, JW's and other subjects.   Since Gerald Flurry is incapable of ever having an original thought, he yet again has to imitate his idol.

Ah, yes. As a young student of Amballador Cossage, I felt prompted to go to the campus bookstore, and to purchase my own copy of Mein Kampf! The bastards had already shown us the Neuremberg trials at SEP, and Hitler's official documentaries of the Third Reich at AC. To make things worse, part of my teenage years were spent in a largely Jewish community, where some of the old folks still had tattoos of their numbers from the death camps. In retrospect, it makes you want to join the JDL, and to stand up to tyrants everywhere. These fiendish Armstrongite leaders became very like the people that they considered to be the punishers, and they employed similar tactics. A pox on all their houses!

Which explains the ACoGs version of Hitler's Youth.

I've long seen the connection between WCG and its splits and nazism/fascism. It's also just like the mafia which is totally fascist in its setup. Democracies and republics usually end up being swallowed up in fascism of one type or another. We're well on our way there in this country. In fact, I'd say we already have a de facto fascist oligarchic setup.

What is next for the PCG? Is the PCG headed for some kind of conflict with the state of Oklahoma so they can be just like the WCG in the late 70's when a receivership took over the church? I wouldn't put it past Flurry to do something dumb to cause a similar situation just so he can be just like HWA and claim that Satan is trying to destroy his cult!

This man is crazy. I watched a few minutes of his telecast the other week and his delivery and how the set is set-up looks so much like HWA. He even made his jowls shake just like HWA's jowls when he spoke.

A Former PCG member wrote: "...Flurry claims to be preaching the Gospel to the world which is full of unbaptized people. What gospel is he preaching? Has anyone ever heard Flurry, or any minister in the PCG, preach a sermon on the Gospel of Grace or the New Covenant?..."

That's a lot of questions about the gospel. What is the gospel? And is that gospel really "good news," and if it is "good news," then who is it good for?

Flurry must be preaching "another gospel," then!

Is good news only for Flurry? God forbid!!!!!!!! Ministers only? God forbid that too!!!!!!

Only those who repent? Repent from what? Only for a few chosen to become part of some Bride of Christ, composed of 144,000 sealed Firstfruits?

Is that how good it gets, or does it get "gooder" (yes, bad English)? If it isn't "good news" for everyone, then what is the bad news? If God is not a respecter of persons, then why can't there be "good news" for all human beings, not just some few?

If we're all sinners, with only one exception of Jesus Christ, and sin dwells within each of us, and evil is present with us, then how does some gospel get around all of this to become really "good news?"

That Former PCG member's last question stated above was: "...Has anyone ever heard Flurry, or any minister in the PCG, preach a sermon on the Gospel of Grace or the New Covenant?..."

If there is some "Gospel of Grace or the New Covenant," then surely the following reconciliation by God has to become reality and be part of that gospel/new covenant, or God is a liar:

"To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them..." 2 Corinthians 5:19

And the Apostle Paul would also be a liar! If Paul did not lie, then his words, which are good news to my ears, ought to be part of the gospel, part of the new covenant, but could never be part of "another gospel," or "another new covenant."

And time will tell...

Yep, Trump or Clinton are the only options. We are well on the road to serfdom!

John the Confused, your 'we can't be sure of anything' rant is the reason God tells us to prove all things. Personally, I'm not the least bit confused.

Just goes to show you how "racist" that the COGs are. Not one of Mao's "Little Red Book" to be found anywhere!

I'm curious about the whole fascination with Hitler and the third Reich. The church was very much into the beast powered arising from Germany. There were endless sermons on the evils of Nazi Germany and how we would suffer even worse if we didn't make it to the place of safety. (So much so that my mother has a bit of weird pride that she doesn't have any German blood in her family tree)

I don't doubt HWA was influenced by his reading, I just wonder if it was seen by him and others as an attempt to get in the mind of the enemy. Only it backfired into shaping his his patterns of behaviour to be similar to the enemy. The level of hubris makes it possible.

July 31 4:32 am A receivership in Edmund? Won't go Flurry's way. Doesn't have a Ralph Helge or Stanley Racer to pull it off for him.

It's a good thing that HWA didn't have any personal habits that eveyone knew about, like say cracking his knuckles, or picking his nose and eating it, or perhaps having legendary and embarrassing problems with intestinal gas. There are perhaps numerous people who, in their attempts to find deeper meaning to life, would cultivate such habits in imitation. Fortunately, the sort of HWA worship to which we were accustomed was confined to using Brylcreem and combing the hair straight back, usage of HWA's favorite words, like hogwash or balderdash, or assuming the furthest right wing political positions possible. And of course, it was always hilarious watching skinny dudes attempting to flap their jowls.

Why was AC showing Hitlers official third reich propaganda films. I bet they never showed Charlie Chaplins Great dictator film.

How silly is all this talk about Hitler's book. If one wants to control people all they need do is read the Christian Bible like Armstrong and company did and do. Tell me, what book is still being heavily quoted on all these absurd controlling spin off cults. It ain't Mein Kampf!

I was an elder in the WCG for 25 years. One of the interesting parts is the understanding I received about Nazism. And don't forget, Hitler was a Christian contrary to what your handlers have said. Look it up on the internet. (You'll have to read facts, not Christian propaganda). There were 25 points to the Nazi party. Number 24 is the instruction for all party members to be Christians. In Germany that meant being Roman Catholic or Lutheran. Freethought was an enemy then in Nazi Germany as it still is now in the many hundreds of
Armstrong spinoffs. It is most difficult to control people who think for themselves. That is how I was a walkaway in 1992.

I used to own a few pieces of Nazi memorabilia as I have an interest in history. One of the items I owned was a Nazi Party belt buckle. Of course the Swastika was prominently displayed and surrounded by the party slogan, "Gott mit uns". Translated God is with us.

Christian propagandists never mention the facts above.

Jim Baldwin,
Yes, Hitler was a Christian. The belt buckles don't even begin to enter into evidence of proof of that fact. The evidence goes FAR beyond the belt buckles.
It goes to many many proofs of historical fact.

Sadly and of course, many people spin this. Heck, many groups today that support Donald Trump have SWASTIKAS prominently displayed on their main pages.

That reminds me of the relatively recent movie "The Book of Eli". Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington,..a good movie!

In the early 90s, I was living in Africa and attending PCG. For the feast of tabernacles (92 or 93), we received VHS tapes for some of the festival messages from HQ. I kid you not, but the Opening Night message was taped over a Nazi concentration camp video. For a majority of us in Kenya, this was the first time we actually came to see footage of the horrors from these camps. Fortunately, it ended up with footage of the Allies moving in and taking as prisoners some of the guards.
When I read all the comments about the Hitler propaganda books being displayed by the ministers, I wonder if the taped over VHS was a mistake or it was actually intentional.
