COG Prophet Claims that During the Feast God Requires You to Attend a Church Service or Watch it Online.

God watches his doubly blessed apostle online, as you should too!

Almost Arrested, Doubly Blessed, Elisha, Elijah, Joshua, Amos, Apostle, End time witness, world  renown Mayan authority, Chief Overseer, Prophet and Naturoherb peddler (a blogger who claims COG ties, but who makes a lot of inaccurate prideful statements, improper accusations, and biblically- impossible speculations) once again has posted more nonsense directed towards those few people attending his cultic festival site.

Look at his convoluted reasoning on how he interprets scripture.  This of course is the standard for Church of God false ministers.  Thiel, like most of the others, twist things around to conform to his theologically bankrupt understanding.
What should you do if you wish to obey God and keep this festival?
If you are at or near one of the Feast of Tabernacles’ Sites for 2015 (sic) you should attend church services every day.
But if you are not able to physically attend those locations, what should you do?
The Bible teaches that the children of Israel were to have offerings for every day of the Feast (Leviticus 23:36. And while we in the Continuing Church of God do take up offerings on the First Day of the Feast and the Last Great Day, we do not take up financial offerings on the other days. But one way for you to fulfill what God expects is for you to attend or at least watch church services each day.
The doubly blessed apostate then uses a verse by Paul to justify requiting people to watch his pathetic sermons online:
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
Do you see in that verse any directive to sit and listen to a live version of a false prophet or even to watch one online every day during the Feast?

This is how he twists that verse to fit his perverse teachings:
Viewing services each day is a way for you to offer yourself as a living sacrifice which is your reasonable service. We have sermons posted at the www.ccog.org website and past year’s sermons posted at the link Feast of Tabernacles’ Sites for 2015. If you are not able to physically attend, hopefully you will be able to watch at least one sermon and other message every day.
Just imagine sitting there for EIGHT DAYS watching Apostate Thiel wave his Bible and arms in the air as if he has any authority or wisdom to impart.   The lake of fire would be a welcome relief to listening to one of Thiel's sermons.

Certain holy days are commanded convocations. However, that is not the same as attending church services ('commanded assemblies' according to Herbie in his writings). The commanded convocation is with the Ekklesia, ie, the called out ones, which can simply be fellowshipping with God and Father and Christ in prayer and bible study.
Church attendance is optional, determined by whether it is a constructive or destructive experience. Considering the immoral state of the churches, church attendance can be a deadly trap.

I left WCG in the summer. The first rumblings of "Feast time" coming up may have started by then, but among many very pleasant realizations that came immediately post-cult - er, post-WCG, was that I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO ANYMORE. Nor did I have to PLAN TO GO with all the fuss that entailed.

In time, I began to think about Christmas shopping instead.

Among the boasts one's fellows in being deceived directed at you, after coming back from the Feast, was who they got to hear preach a sermon. It was some Headquarters minister or, at least, someone who'd been around since before 1960. (No such expectation this year for that, is there?)

If I think about the whole going-to-the-Feast thing now, I think of a vague feeling, inwardly denied over and over, that we were acting strangely, exhibiting ourselves among the people around us, and not in a good way. They were happy to take our money, but did anyone, anyone at all, get interested in joining after seeing us perform our peculiar rituals? (What an appropriate word PECULIAR is here.)

Part of that vague, bad feeling was that it was all kind of a waste, and now it can be clearly seen as eight days, every year, of needless self-indulgence with NO MEANING we care to hang on to. And I haven't said anything about risking a job to go, or straining family relationships by ridiculously insisting that GOD TOLD YOU TO.

Incredible. Bob doesn’t seem to know the difference between “present an offering” (in this case, a food offering) and “take up and offering” (pass the collection plate). Even so, he’s saying the CCOG doesn’t do it the way Leviticus says how to do it.

Of course, since there is no Temple in Jerusalem, you can't "present an offering".

How can anyone sit through the sermons of any of these men for eight days year after year after year? Maybe boredom is an effective mind-control method. What else could explain why these people come back year after year after year. They have been programed by their masters well.

Bob's a loser in every sense of the word. He will fail in his pursuit towards greatness and shall be reviled by those who are not deceived. Thus says James:3:5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

In the end, the believer must understand about false teachers and the penalty that goes with following them. Here's a hint: James 5: if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

Yes, the penalty is death for following false prophets. It seems the lake of fire might need reservations among the acog's.

Why is that Bob Thiel strives to be more righteous than God?

Bob wrote: "...If you are at or near one of the Feast of Tabernacles’ Sites for 2015 (sic) you should attend church services every day..."

Where in the Bible does it say that? Nowhere! Bob, like so many of the xcog leaders, made it up.

Leviticus 23:34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

That's it! Services are not daily, but only on the 1st and 8th days......and on the weekly Sabbath if it is not one of those 2 days.

If Bob Thiel disagrees with God, he should take it up with God and see if God is willing to follow Bob Thiel's thinking. Will Bob do that?

Time will tell...

John

In order to buy into this, there are a few important requirements:

1. God must exist;
2. The Bible must be God's Word;
3. New Testament Christians must obey and keep Old Testament Law;
4. The Feast of Tabernacles must be kept by Christians;
5. Offerings must be taken 7 times a year and not 3 as specified in the Law;
6. The Feasts are kept as God intended;
7. The Feasts must be kept on the exact days God intended, which means,
8. The leader of the cult sect must have the calendar exactly right;
9. There must be a way for Levite priests to make animal sacrifices at the Feast as specified in the Old Testament Law;
10. Christians must listen to each and every service message on each and every day;
11. That the cult leader is specifically chosen by God to be the only source of all that takes place at the Feast.

Once you establish all 11 criteria, the rest is easy.

Thankfully, since I managed to walk out of the group at 15 or 16, I never had to deal with the planning aspect of FOT. That must have been insanity for you who were adults at the time.

I have a diamond ring to drop into the offering basket, yet because I'm taking care of kids, I couldn't make it there.

In the time of the Temple in Jerusalem, all men living in Eretz Israel are to go to the pilgrimage feasts, Passover, Pentecost, and the FOT. The first day and the eighth day are the days were attendance at the Temple are required. The four species of branches are to be waved. For the seven days of the FOT they must live in sukkot. There are daily korban (offerings).

Modern Jewish practice is to attend synagogue services, at least on the first and eighth days. Unless you want to stand, you better book a seat. Wave the four species, and there is a sukkot in the synagogue so everyone can spend some time living in it. No offerings (there's no Temple) and no collection (there are no Levites).

For COGs, you must go to your assigned FOT site and attend services every day. Since you are staying in a hotel, motel or other temporary accommodation, it substitutes for a booth. And there will be two collections for tithes, offerings, excess second tithe, etc. Four species? What's that about? Never heard of it!

Compared to the original command, and the Jewish practice, about the only thing the COG way has in common is attending services

And even though Passover and Pentecost are also pilgrimage festivals, you don't go to a feast site, but there collections of tithes, offerings, etc.
