Dave Pack: My Church Members Are So Electrified By My Sermons That NONE Are Leaving The Church

Superfantabulous Dave,
the most electrifying COG minister ever!

Well Dave should have kept his mouth shut.  He has lost many member since stating this, including family members.

I learned the truth that Ambassador College. It was fairly well established by the mid-1960’s God called me, as I often say 50 years ago now this month. Next week 50 years since I began to learn the truth. We heard things ahead of the brethren—but it’s been a difficult thing for our ministers. We’re learning so much, so fast, and I know everybody has riveted. I ought to just tell you, it’s been weeks, quite a number of weeks since even one person, anywhere in the world has left the Church. That tells me that the reports I’m getting that people are just riveted, and electrified are real (if you will), and there’s going to be much, much more again, including today (of course).

I love his logic "no one has left in the last few weeks". What about all those who have been leaving in droves for months up until now. His great sermon series is why my family and I finally woke up to his deception and recently left. The few who are still left will probably never leave, no matter what he says, or what office he will claim next. (Although not much left to claim, that he isn't already.)

Look's like the Trump administration will have to deal with the Pack cult. Let's hope they do a better job that the Clinton administration. This guys sanity can only hold out for so long.

I'm quite interested in hearing some details about why you left.
I wonder if you might share with us (readers of Banned) a synopsis of your story?
Some of the thought processes that led you to wake up, as you put it, how you got around to getting where you are.

In addition to being interesting, it might prove helpful to others here...

It would be better if he claimed the members were electrocuted.

That way, some of them might have blessed relief....

NEW REVISED CURRENT STATEMENT FROM PACK...

If you are a Pack Member, do you get a choice? Electrocuted, Shot, Hung , or Lethal Injection?

This reminds me of the TV series, Fear the walking dead. The people in Daves and similar churches, are the living dead, and the outsiders are the healthy, uninfected ones. There are parallels, since the ministers are constantly waging a war on independent thinking, and demand blind obedience.

Connie, you know very well, Armstrongist members have no rights and that includes the right to choose your style of abuse to be used on you.

It keeps things fresh and interesting.

Hello Michael,

I will explain in as few words as possible, I could write more later. But the basics for leaving were that with his new teaching on the "first dominion", everything that HWA taught in WCG for over 50 years gets thrown out the window. There were several other doctrinal changes also leading up to this point, none of which, my wife nor I, totally bought.

For instance common, Elijah, etc. Actually one of the final straws, however, was when Pack claimed to be "that Prophet." We searched the scriptures, and even Pack's own words, in his "Is That Prophet Alive Today" book, proved to us that he could not be "that Prophet". That title belongs to Christ, no matter what he says.

Not to mention that he cannot even keep his story straight thru the series. Like for instance, one week we were to be carried to Jerusalem by angels. The next week, we would be "resplendent" and take ourselves. His logic, "we would be burned up in the atmosphere if angels carried us." You've got to be kidding me right. Mighty angels cannot transport someone to Jerusalem. What about Elijah riding on a fiery chariot, and by the way, not burned up!

Just one small example of the confusion thru this series. There are also many other things that he went back and forth on. Of course, he said it was because he is slowly learning the new truth himself, and it will take time to sort out. However, God is not the author of confusion, as Pack himself likes to point out, so why so much confusion in his new understanding? And why are there no fruits in RCG, or why his false prophecy about three men dying over three years ago? Not much growth at all, if any, in RCG in recent history. If anything, probably 30 percent attrition, at the least. (I don't know exact numbers, of course, just guessing by what we knew while still in.)

Overall, I do not believe this new teaching, I cannot see it in my Bible. So I must be unconverted, or possibly/ probably Pack is a false prophet. I hope if I am wrong that God will be merciful, but I do not feel like it. Time will tell if the first dominion comes, or not...

The RCG members are not electrified by Dave's sermons. They are SHOCKED by them! SHOCKED, I tell you!

We used to have a saying in the machine sales industry, and that is that whenever something adverse happens, like a bad merger, or a negative change in management, the best people are usually the first to leave. They're the ones with the brain power, and the bankable skills. One would have to wonder if it was the best and brightest who have left Pack's church. Those are also the people who tend to have a problem with the "my way or the highway" managerial style.

There is no need to wait for time to tell you anything. I will tell you everything right now. The only thing that is coming is the false prophets that Jesus warned about. After the apostate Tkaches had openly turned against everything in January of 1995, and later only repented of doing away with tithing, former WCG members wondered where to go next. Unluckily for them, Satan had already prepared wicked and malicious imposters like Gerald Flurry (PCG started 1989) and David Pack (RCG started 1999) to attract these former WCG members by falsely pretending to be faithfully standing up for everything that HWA had taught. Then both Gerald Flurry and David Pack went on to call themselves That Prophet and to totally change and pervert everything that HWA had taught. Some unlucky people went through the PCG and then later the RCG too.

False prophets like Gerald Flurry and David Pack do all their evil in the name of HWA and God so that when people finally grow tired of all the satanic abuse that gets passed off as the government of God they will wrongly blame HWA and God for it and reject them. Gerald Flurry and David Pack are more cunning, deceitful, and cruel than most could imagine. Unfortunately, sincere people who meant well will find it extremely difficult to survive and overcome Satan's double whammy of Gerald and Dave.

Uh-oh, the scent of burning "hair" is in the air.
Maybe ECT(electroshock therapy), is Gauwd's way to solve Dave's unsolvable problems?

Question: What do you do in Armstrongism if you have ministerial aspirations, and nobody wants you because it's well known that you don't play nicely with others, are difficult to get along with, and everything must be done your way? Well, you do the only thing that is left for you. You start your own group! And you apply all of the manipulative language that you learned from the larger group you left to your own little start-up. God's Church. Philadelphian Christians. The end times. God's ministers. God's people. And especially, God's tithes!

The poblem is, most of the guys who do this do not realize one critical fact: In a dominance-submissive relationship, reality is that the submissives have all the control. They decide how long they will allow the process to continue! It's sort of an automatic checks and balances system to keep things from becoming too weird. Problem is, tyrants fail to perceive such finer points. With them, it's "Damn the torpedoes..."

Thank you. I see that part of your reason involves his changing HWA doctrines (as he indeed clearly seems to be doing.)
I also have to agree with what another Anon said above, that you don't necessarily need to wait for time to tell about Dave's prophecies, as so many have demonstrably turned out to be complete bloviation by someone obviously intent in finding himself mentioned in the Hebrew scriptures...

I don't want to press too far here, but from the above I assume that means you still believe that HWA's doctrines and the Bible are/were correct.
One could point out that HWA also had numerous, numerous claims throughout his 50+ yr ministry that turned out to be no better than Pack's.
(For example, check out his writings during late 1930's-40s, his claims about 1975, how Christ's coming was always 10-15 years away, and so much more.)

You've made a wonderful move by leaving Pack's group, congratulations, and all the best from here on!

It's been amazing to learn about all of the similar behavioral patterns that happen in the Church of Scientology, the ways in which leaders and members behave towards one another. Again, one of the most devastating aspects to these cults is the area of normal human relationships. The cults cause situations where you can't really get to know your fellow members, because all you can see is their facade, which is based on the "approved" opinions and reactions coming back in response to you.

One thing I enjoyed about working at Ambassador College is that it gave us a window to get past the "sabbath facade." Spending 40 hours a week with people, you got to know who the fairly nice people were, and who the nasty, mean-spirited monsters were. Sometimes this was painful, because there was too much information. You would never have known from superficial "sabbath best" who had drinking problems, explosive tempers, beat their kids or their spouses, etc. But, it all came out over the course of several years of daily work in close quarters.

Especially an intrusive authoritarian like Dave Pack would get things concealed from him. People become very adept at creating their "walking on egg shells" personna. He's probably passing through the calmness of the eye of the storm, and doesn't even know it.

Yes, the narcissist's masquerade, the fear of being found out, and the building of a "false self". They, and I used to be like that too, vainly try to build character through hypocrisy.

Be "true to myself", first.
