Thiel says you MUST be open to correction by himl and his minion ministers, then starts discussing fools, thieves, children, dating, speaking, and "not" pride. Then there is wealth, linen/flax processing, clothing and cotton. It doesn't take much thinking by a COG member to know where he is headed with this malarkey. He then covers the prophetic ramifications of Proverbs, ignoring the fact his prophecies have been epic failures.
Just imagine 10 weeks of listening to this crap with him bouncing all over the place. No focus on a specific topic, but on hundreds and hundreds of things that almost all in the church could care less about. As he preaches about these issues through the lenses of a privileged American, the Africans in his group could care less.

This is the tenth part of a ten-part sermon series covering the Book of Proverbs. In this sermon,. Dr. Thiel covers all the verses in the 29th, 30th, and 31st chapters of the Book of Proverbs. He goes over why Christians should accept correction, dealing with trials and temptations, being a Proverbs 31 wife, being a Proverbs 31 husband, and other aspects of Christian living. He goes over verses related to fools, thieves, children, dating, speaking, and not pride. He goes over items that God’s word says to do as well as not to do. He mentions Solomon, Agur, Ithiel, and Lemuel. He even discusses work, wealth, linen/flax processing, clothes, and cotton. He also discusses prophetic ramifications of some of the verses in the Book of Proverbs. Furthermore, Dr. Thiel ties in various passages in the New Testament to show that the scriptures in Proverbs are also intended for Christians in the end times–including items related to the Beast and Antichrist.

Horrible! You can't deliver a message that people would begin to even remember if you're covering two dozen points in one rambling diatribe!!! Did he EVER go to Club? Did he EVER give a Sermon in a COG before he got butthurt?
As soon as I saw the clustermess he was expounding on in his omniscient wisdom, I thought to myself: Where is the Specific Purpose Statement (SPS) in this? You don't take three chapters of a book of the Bible and cover the many points covered in a book like Proverbs. It's just a horrible way to attempt to teach.
Expound on a specific purpose. Use three, maybe four points to convey the root point. Use scriptures IN CONTEXT to validate your message. Be on point. Be specific. Don't overdo it. Avoid any crooked bookcases in the background. Don't overdo your gestures - it's no different than taking the lectern and throwing it - it distracts from the foundation of the message. There's a method to this. Whatever he's doing here sounds confusing, garbled, and impossible to remember.
If I was his evaluator in Club, I don't doubt for a second that I would fail this - and start him over in regular Club, at speech one.

I've been reading about the Roman Catholic Church and how the people are so dependent upon the priests for: baptism to cleanse you of original sin, the mass, confession, last rites, etc. without which you will spend more time in purgatory. The RCC has placed the priest between you and God. The WCG has done the same thing in the sense that you cannot know, on your own, how to live. It isn't enough that we have the Bible and the Holy Spirit, the minister, acting like a priest, has to come between when he has no right to do so. It seem to me to be all about control, in both groups.
The first cartoon shows that this site is hostile to Christianity in all its forms, despite what person who wrote the article pretends to be.

Anon 7:44AM's comment shows that he considers all forms of Christianity to be hostile to intelligent and rational thought. Many devout Christians, however, do not believe that God would give us the ability to think rationally and then demand that we NOT use the ability God gave us. Certainly there are wrong ways to use one's rational intellect, just as there are wrong ways to use one's sexuality. However, it is just as Satanic for a preacher to demand irrationality of his flock as to demand celibacy.
From early on in this sermon, it became evident that Bob was giving some advice he doesn't follow himself. Well, Doctor, heal thyself...
Club/Sermon
In one of Bob's early condemnations of American Tackle Football, he mentioned that had been the topic of one of his Spokesman's Club speeches. He said his speech was not well received.
Early in the history of CCOG, Bob also mentioned giving a sermon on Deuteronomy in the LCG. I vaguely remember (and don't feel inclined to search his website) that this was somehow significant, and perhaps the sermon was given seven years prior to the start of CCOG, and that it was the only time he knew of when someone in WCG/LCG gave such a sermon.
