PCG Women: Submission is something to be enjoyed but a rebellious or resistant wife hinders God!

I guess we will never see any "brawling women" in the Philadelphia Church of God! Such a shame.

King James Bible
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Proverbs 21:9
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Key 1: The wife should transfer to the husband the responsibility of final decisions.
She has an obligation to provide him with the benefits of her perspective, yet always leaving the final decision to him. A wife should never nag at her husband. If she feels he is making a serious mistake, then she should take that to a higher office—God—or, when applicable, God’s ministry.
When a woman gives her opinion, she should strive to ensure emotion is not leading her. Proverbs 31:26 shows that the law of kindness needs to be in her words.
Key 2: The wife should give her husband due respect.
Any of us can focus on faults—we all have them. From time to time, strive to pay compliments, thanking him for his efforts in providing for you and the family.
Hardly anything is too big for a husband to achieve if he has his wife’s support, admiration and respect, and her backing his role with her own.
Key 3: The wife must use wisdom in handling family finances.
Study Proverbs 31:11, 16, 24. When money is in short supply—as indeed it can be from time to time—a wife’s attitude toward the problem is very important. Here is when your supporting role is so necessary. Ensure you do not enter the credit card trap—spending tomorrow’s money today—to “solve” the problem.
Key 4: The wife should ask herself, “Do I assume leadership that is not within my role?”
This can be a trap due to not fully understanding each other’s responsibilities. Ensure you encourage your husband’s leadership. Let him know you enjoy his masterful handling of the family affairs with love. Always endeavor to make your compliments sincere and heartfelt.
One of the most important ways to encourage your man to lead is to be a good follower.
Key 5: Be determined to obey God in your role.
Carefully study 1 Peter 3:1-6, 8. When you submit to your husband, you are in fact submitting to God!
Consider the fact that God, in placing your husband in the leadership position, had your total interests as well as your husband’s in mind.
A rebellious or resistant wife hinders God!
God is in final control; He will not allow any harm to come to you as you submit.

The way to have a happy marriage ladies - go tell the ministry all about your husband.
I knew of one sad case where the man divorced the wife who loved him because of D&R, then married a woman who worked in the church office - who then complained to the ministry when she disapproved of his behavior.

Better to treat each other as co-heirs.

When the ministry is encouraging and demanding that the husband destroy the family finances then I am sure that God will intervene and put a stop to it, right? NOT! Is she supposed to just sit by and let it happen, knowing that if they had their way then she would be on the street along with him because he didn't have the sense to say no? A wife's job isn't to agree with everything he does, her job to is help him, sometimes that help comes in the form of No, don't do that. Taking things to God's ministry would help I suppose if in fact they really were God's ministry.

No.. In my case, taking it to the ministry did not help. They ALWAYS sided with the man and basically told me to shut up and obey. He was the ruler, I was the cook and maid. Even when my ex admitted to me that everything he told me were lies just to get me to marry him. After we were married, he was a totally different person and I was stuck by the rules of the cult.

TLA jests surely ?

The way to a happy marriage is to marry for love and not arranged church marriages.

Tell the ministry nothing.

Unfortunately, most if not all of these concepts are well laid out in the scriptures from Genesis to revelation. Genesis dethrones the Goddess aspect of women worshipped in the nations surrounding Israel. The fertility symbols of agriculture, rain, seeds, new life etc, (The point of the Cain and Able acceptable and un acceptable offerings) were out (Matriarchy) and Priests, temples and meat offerings were in for worship (Patriarchy) . Women were to have babies painfully from now on and say "yes sir" to their husbands. This is the whole purpose of Genesis 1-4 and the original audience knew it.

The rest of the Bible gives women typical Middle Eastern status. One can find the occasional unique Bible woman such as Deborah, who must have taken no shit from anyone, but they are rare. Even in Jesus geneology the four woman Rahab, Tamar, Ruth and Bathsheba are not there for their glorious reputations. They are there to show that God can bring about Jesus EVEN through women of questionable reputation so get off Mary's back about Jesus being born of fornication and being a bastard etc.

The NT Church attitudes reflect Middle Eastern concepts for the most part with regards to the "role", a term woman just love in their relationships.

All to say, any nutcase ministry can find plenty in the Bible to keep women in their roles and in their place in service to the man. It disturbs these types that as a fetus, they started out as a female because female is the template on which men are built. It's why they have nipples. Only with the appropriate shot of hormone in the womb at the precise time do men become "men". It's kind of like telling the Klan or White Supremacists that if they take a cheek swab and get their gene mutations traced, they originated in East Africa with the rest of us.

No - this really happened to a very nice man in my local WCG church when I was still new
I married for love and still love her. Kids still love us despite sparing the rod - the thing to remember with your children is they will be adults one day and be able to decide if they want anything to do with you.

7:33, I guess you are an atheist and you have that God-givin' right. But thankfully you don't get to boss me around like those Armstrong loving ministers used to do when I was in his cult. If it wasn't for my Lord Jesus, who I accepted into my lonely heart after escaping from Armstrongism, I would be dead. It took a suicide attempt to wake me up & realize that without Jesus I am nothing and can do nothing. If Jesus doesn't exist, and I know he is real in my soul, I would rather be dead.

I started out with a Y chromosome --- a male from conception. You can be a girl if you want to; that's your problem.
