"Although if They Disrespect ME, They Disrespect God" and too..."I am the Elijah to Come"

….and may as well throw in, That Prophet

David C Pack
December 12, 1998

SAID.....

"I hope you'll remember it enough to quote it right back to me"

Note:  Can do...
 "I want to make a statement about...me...

Note:  Now there's a rare topic...

"Now, if I became deceived, I will never tell you what I'm going to tell you now.."

Note: But since you did tell us in '98, it is time to repost  it again

"I am telling you  if I go off into strange ideas,  misconduct, rebellion, you name it, don't follow me."

Note: That's why I am reposting this

" I want to tell you that now, because if I start doing that I'm gonna try to get you to follow me! I'm gonna come to you and tell you it doesn't apply, it doesn't mean me, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's OK to follow me because ABCD and XY and Z. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Note: Evidently not...

"Listen to me now, when I tell you don't follow me if I go off into weird ideas, or if I get off into other things that are total absolutely unscriptural conduct, because if I do I'm gonna paint it with a different face and try to get you to follow me. Do you understand what I'm saying brethren?"

Note: Evidently not...

" Please remember that, because I promise you that if I become deceived, I'll forget it, and I'll want you to forget it...And  I hope you'll remember it well enough to quote it right back to me..."

Note: I am quoting it right back to you Dave. Is anybody listening there in RCG?

But I'll tell you what, I'm not going anywhere."

Note: I disagree....and yes you have

I wonder if there's a ghost writer in the background. This would explain the contradictions in Dave's writings and behavior.

while I am sure that some of the young men he has surrounded himself with feed him some of this crap, he is too big of a narcissist to let anyone write words for him to say.

When credulous investigators do research, the results usually corroborate the credulous view.

When skeptical investigators do research, the results usually corroborate their view.

Armstrongism directed members with an amalgum of both. Be credulous when you research what the ministers teach you. Be skeptical regarding everything you hear from "worldly" sources (other religious teachers, all scientists, historians, educators, doctors of medicine, psychology, and psychiatry, philosophers, logicians, and especially salesmen).

Case in point: This is why Dave's members give him a pass. They credulously single source Dave for all truth, and skeptically reject the sources which would counter all of the ridiculous things he has to say. In other words, they willingly allow him to deprive them of their safety net. And, this makes sense to them.

It would be helpful to have honest insiders give us a more detailed description of the inner workings of Dave's looney bin church.

Pack is proof that there is a spirit world! He is obviously DEMON POSSESSED!

Dennis said...

Or Tonto he can simply have a personality disorder common to man without the need for demons or goblins

Yes, the best truth is found by discovery and not some truth dictated by an authority.

Dave Pack is too sure of himself, he needs to heed the scripture warnings about the high standards preachers are held to by God.

Calmly refering to himself as Elijah and THAT prophet is a very strong statment to make. Not one that should be taken lightly.
Does he think God, the real God, does not hear?
If anyone pretends to be the prophet promised in Deut 18 prophecy, such a pretender will incur God's displeasure, and will meet death and defeat.
You dont mess around with God.

Men like Pack prance about the COG movement as if they have no fear of God, as if they think God does not exist.
They are gods in their own little world, similar to hollywood celebrity gods with their flunkies.

When I started reading the bible, I experienced the occasional 'drilling' feeling of something trying to drill into my brain. I later heard from church members that they had similar experiences. It's demons trying to possess a host.

1:38. It was common sense trying to get in touch with you

Heard it all now, demons trying to drill into baptised? Christians minds whilst reading Holy scripture.
Maybe if they looked for God and layed a love of God on their hearts they would not have to fear demons.

Standard COG mentality - any thought that comes to you while reading the Bible that disagrees with the COG teaching must be from demons. Can’t be the Holy Spirit (or even common sense) trying to wake you up; must be demons if it disagrees with what the minister said.

The drilling sensation into the brain is unique. It's not just some thought or common sense. Perhaps I shouldn't be throwing my pearls before mocking swine.

"Founder and Pastor General of The Restored Church of God, Editor-in-Chief of The Real Truth magazine, and voice of The World to Come program, David C. Pack has reached many millions around the globe with the most powerful truths of the Bible—unknown to almost all. He has authored 80 books and booklets, personally established over 50 congregations, and appeared as a guest on The History Channel. Mr. Pack attended Ambassador College in Pasadena, California, entered the Worldwide Church of God ministry in 1971, and was personally trained by its founder, Herbert W. Armstrong." from Dave Pack's RCG web site.

Dennis - when did HWA have time to personally train a student from 1967 to 1971? Was HWA still teaching classes then?

Dennis said...

He didn't. HWA only shied up once in a blue moon for any class. Dave Married HWAs secretary Shirley Ichs and made his JWA contacts there. Mostly by phone I imagine when in the field ministry. What Dave means is he knew HWA through Shirley. I seriously doubt he thought much if Dave. Just as when Dave says he studied evolution at AC. He means he outlined Witcomb and Morris's horribly mistaken "Genesis Flood" for second year Bible. Sad class..terrible book

Dave is following adman Herb with his photo shopped resume. Reality doesn't count. All that matters is marketing. Perceptions are everything. The truth be dammed.

Who is mocking?

Anon said...

No one is saying that Brian. Typical strawman attack = They that believe, demonize those who don't. Not true.

@ 11:01 AM, that "drilling" sensation is also commonly reported by schizophrenics.
