I remember his articles from the church lit too....always enjoyed them and considered them a cut or three above most of the other stuff I was reading out of Pasadena. He was the principal---or only?---author behind the "human mind versus animal brain" series that was a moderately coherent attempt to undercut evolutionary theory's claim that we follicle-challenged apes arose via natural processes the same way our more hirsute cousins and all other life on Earth did.
Even then, light years beyond what most creationist/intelligent design proponents today are trying to sell.
As far as his show goes, well, it looks like he talks to all the right people: Kaku, Dennett, Rees, Tegmark, Krauss et al. so maybe I'll give him a listen.

But ditto what Miller Jones said above about Kuhn's shuffling some dough RCM's way: hope it ain't true. The sooner outfits like Meredith's, Pack's Flurry's etc. cease to exist, the sooner it'll be a slightly better world.

BTW, Minimalist: do you really think RLK is---or ever really was---"stupid"? Deluded, maybe, as most of us were to one degree or other. But stupid?
Well, I guess a respectable argument COULD be made that delusion is a form of stupidity...

Okay, I've spent enough of my valuable Facebook time here now. Take care.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12575543111473653972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-26485579895460303272015-06-15T10:30:17.668-07:002015-06-15T10:30:17.668-07:00Reading at the link that Anon of "June 13, 20...Reading at the link that Anon of "June 13, 2015 at 7:32 PM" left, I was rather amazed:

There were those awful Jew bankers.
There was the Illumaniti.
There were conspiracies galore.
There were the shape-shifting 'Anunnaki' aliens.
The Anunnaki are working to start a New World Order on this planet.

Hmmmmm...

But, you know what?
A person who has left "Herbieville" often has a brain-state that is ripe for falling into crazy beliefs like these.

Heck, even the Christian megachurch near me is run by a total asshole, and it isn't good for it's parishioners..., although I know of an ex UCG-er whose wife is concerned about his invovment there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-75345255813795904302015-06-14T15:29:39.184-07:002015-06-14T15:29:39.184-07:00OOOPs! Radar replied, "GO-TOH" as in "GO TO HEAVEN".

Anyone versed in Armstrongism knows the Church believed in "soul sleep" and that heaven was not believed to be the reward of the saved. So Radar's comment, even though it was meant to be humorous, didn't go over very well at the time with the rank and file church tithe slaves.

RichardLake of Fire Church of Godnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-65314584956070953562015-06-14T10:23:15.975-07:002015-06-14T10:23:15.975-07:00We wondered who this enigmatic classmate was who d...We wondered who this enigmatic classmate was who drove to class in a Porsche, and somehow got out of the P.E. classes the rest of us were required to take. I really had no clue as to his real status or background until the HWA "spirit of man" articles began to emerge a couple of years later. He lived off campus, so was not part of campus life and the impromptu "bull sessions" we used to have in the recreation areas of the dorms.

Osamu Gotoh was similarly enigmatic, and was part of our freshman class.

That's one of the interesting aspects of being young. You never know who and what various classmates are going to become as life progresses. With some, in retrospect, it should have been predictable, and with others, there isn't even a clue. Some become prominent, and others hit the skids. Most of us become relatively average, salt of the earth types, just slugging it out trying to raise and feed a family.

BBByker Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602697337552385535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-27868959421040149682015-06-14T07:34:07.108-07:002015-06-14T07:34:07.108-07:00I saw Robert Kuhn as a guest on CNBC's Squawk ...I saw Robert Kuhn as a guest on CNBC's Squawk Box a couple years ago talking about China trade. I don't know which one comes off looking worse as a result of this: Meredith for divulging confidential donation information, or Kuhn for being sentimental/gullible enough to donate to old Spanky?
