IBM is on the record for stating that world wide market for computers is 5. When IBM came out with it's 1980s PC, they outsourced its CPU to Intel, even though they were the largest manufacture of electronic components (only for internal use) at the time. Steve Jobs messed up by not licensing the Mac computer when it came out in the 1980s. Steve Jobs, the visionary? Ha ha ha. As a consequence, it now has only 5% of market share.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-74984652613669314862017-01-28T19:25:15.343-08:002017-01-28T19:25:15.343-08:00... and here you are posting anonymously, Anon 11:...... and here you are posting anonymously, Anon 11:47. For them, this is the scientist as Antiocchus. It would be a sign of the end times just as severe as the oft speculated about corruption of mankind in Noah's time.

The fact is, though, man is as ceremonially unclean as the unclean animals! You don't eat his flesh, he doesn't have cloven feet and chew a cud, and there are implications for handling his dead body. Human fat, in Antiocchus's time, would have contaminated the oil just as certainly as did porcine oil.

The GMO thing, and genetic solutions to disease represent a shift in control. You can't avoid what you don't know about. Scientists are now working with the basic building blocks of living things, often on a cellular level, rendered, purified, and handled in clean rooms. This goes way beyond reading "lard" as an ingredient of Twinkies in the supermarket, and simply not purchasing that product. It's not even like avoiding Neosporin in Flurry's group so that you will be "worthy" to take Passover. To those hung up on Old Covenant rituals, genetic engineering is "the day the music died".

BBByker Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602697337552385535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-61746685012476886722017-01-28T07:45:08.933-08:002017-01-28T07:45:08.933-08:00Looking at the pictures of Herbert Armstrong, it&#...Looking at the pictures of Herbert Armstrong, it's tempting to say that science is late to the party.

Thankfully, to his credit, Robert Thiel is relatively lean and fit.

The major problem I see with Robert Thiel is he seems to be a borderline narcissist: Someone who makes frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment, so he needs a narcissistic source in the form of followers to convince him that he is worthwhile and even important -- and he's desperate to have people show him respect... and honor.

In this aspect, he seems rather close to Herbert Armstrong who had a gnawing need to have people treat him as though he was important. This seems to take different forms. For Herbert Armstrong it was photo ops with prominent world leaders -- he really wanted people to think others who were important thought well of him. For Robert Thiel, it looks as though it has taken the form of "I'm a prophet and important to God". Only, Bob Thiel needs other people to validate him and respect and have enough people following him that he can 'prove' it.

It all gets back to maximizing dopamine levels. Different people have different ways in achieving this. Some, though, have rather, shall we say, inappropriate methods. Such people are labeled as having 'mental disorders'.

[Personally, I do not need external validation. My successful projects speak for themselves, particularly the technological / professional ones, and particularly the ones which have continued without a single error for years.
