The Havirs are MARRIED MEN! This is not about some kind of May/December relationship amongst two single people. No real man of any Chrisitan honor or integrity that I know of who is married, is "jealous" of the above described situation but is AGHAST IN SHOCK against such behavior. They are all in the same camp. His journal articles are a whitewash of a corrupt church meant to deceive people into sending them their money with the idea they are not corrupt like RCG, PCG, UCG, CCG, LCG and others are. There are serious issues going on in the church right now with the inappropriate actions of Havir's son and others. These men should not be around teenage girls at any time without another person present.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-75758668619624589282017-08-08T09:19:14.208-07:002017-08-08T09:19:14.208-07:00The sticks after their names can be confusing (I, ...The sticks after their names can be confusing (I, II, III). However, up until this inappropriate incident, the only thing I've known of the ACOG-BS has been through the regular front page articles by a David Havir in the Journal each month. They have been good PR, because he appears to be the voice of reason and moderation, doing articles as opposed to taking out farcical ads in the Looney Toons section. And, now we find out that apparently all is not sweetness and light. Who'd a ever thunk that of an Armstrongite church? Aren't they usually known for their unwavering honesty and integrity? Do they no longer go by the standards originally professed by Herbie? Or have they lapsed into the standards as actually practiced by Herbie? See, that's the problem with mixed standards and messages.

BBByker Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602697337552385535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-14898155623260606642017-08-08T09:06:03.572-07:002017-08-08T09:06:03.572-07:00Unfortunately, prudent fiscal management appears t...Unfortunately, prudent fiscal management appears to be a challenge with several Protestant groups, according to Christianity Today

Robbing God, Literally: 1 in 10 Protestant Churches Experience Embezzlement
Survey finds 1 in 2 only has enough cash for four months of services.
BOB SMIETANA - FACTS & TRENDS AUGUST 03, 2017

Churches and other faith groups collect tens of billions of dollars in donations each year. But not all of it ends up where it’s supposed to.

About 1 in 10 Protestant churches has had someone embezzle funds, according to a new survey of 1,000 Protestant senior pastors from LifeWay Research.

That figure isn’t surprising, said LifeWay executive director Scott McConnell. Most churches rely on volunteers to handle their finances, he said.

Those volunteers are usually honest. But churches often lack systems to catch those who aren’t. As a result, he said, money that could have been used for ministry goes missing.

“Churches run on trust—but they also know people are imperfect and can be tempted,” said McConnell. “That’s why safeguarding a church’s finances is an important part of ministry.”

Overall, 9 percent of pastors say that their church has had funds embezzled, while 91 percent say they are not aware of any embezzlement.

Churches of Christ ministers are more likely to say their church had funds embezzled (16%) when compared to Baptist (7%) or Presbyterian/Reformed pastors (6%).

Pastors of mid-sized churches—those with 100 to 249 members—are less likely to say funds have been embezzled (6%) than those with 250 or more members (12%).

LifeWay’s survey echoes a smaller 2012 study of churches in Kansas and Missouri, which found that 13.4 percent of churches had experienced embezzlement or other fraud.

A study of more than 2,400 fraud cases at businesses and nonprofits by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners found 2.4 percent of cases involved churches or other charitable groups. The average loss was $82,000. When they contribute to a church, they are entering into a informal contract to the effect that the money will be spent in a certain manner. So these churches can't just say 'mind your own business and go else where if you don't like it.' They are morally accountable to their members.
Perhaps these church leaders can hide behind the letter of the law, but it's not moral. Consider how open the church was in the book of Acts. All members had a detailed knowledge of church activities.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-12281217725213039372017-08-07T23:00:39.694-07:002017-08-07T23:00:39.694-07:00well, it's a church, and not obligated to allo...well, it's a church, and not obligated to allow anyone in to audit anything.

if the membership doesn't like the way the money is handled, they can leave and the problem will be solved, the church will "go out of business".

no one from the outside (especially anyone on this site) has any authority to demand anything from them...if you don't agree with what's happening there, don't go there.

think back to when Charles Grassley was trying to get financial info from some of the crooked mega churches....they all ignored him and there wasn't a thing he could do about it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-74870780954442162792017-08-07T21:45:02.255-07:002017-08-07T21:45:02.255-07:00Do I sense envy here? If David III was a contract worker receiving more than $600 in income, then the Church should have collected a w-9 from David III and issued a 1099 transmittal.

Oh, of course David III and the Church would comply with all IRS rules and regulations.
