Crackpot Prophet On "What God Expects"

Leave it to our favorite crackpot prophet and his so-called ministers to lecture the church on "what God expects" when they themselves do not do what He expects. They have added so many extraneous rules, beliefs, and other nonsensical things that no one in their right mind could ever do and believe everything they demand.

Of course, as usual, the sermon was really all about supporting the only "work" that is doing a "work" on earth today. Support the Great Bwana, or you are NOT doing what God expects of you! Your salvation depends upon!

  1. This might be a good time for a little history. Way back when HWA's kids had pet dinosaurs, he invented or applied "Cancel Culture". Of course he called it "Disfellowshipping", but when you think about it the two are very close synonyms. The two political parties of today, as flip sides of the same coin, have both practiced, and complained about cancel culture. There has been Democrat cancel culture, and we have recent examples of Republican cancel culture. These two parties are about as original or innovative as the mini-Herb ACOGs! People frequently arise from political cancel culture, although in some cases it sticks, and diminishes the targets' lives.

What's true, is that Armstrongism and certain other notable cults have been pretty much cancelled by the internet. Just as there are still Branch Davidians, and disciples of Jim Jones, there are still Armstrongites. This is also true of the once numerous followers of L. Ron Hubbard. These groups have all been checkmated so long as the internet continues to be governed by freedom of speech. Alas, nothing is forever. Even the First Amendment is vulnerable to attack.

  2. Extraneous rules are common in other denominations as well. The bible instructs to acquire wisdom, but Christian groups have chosen to substitute endless rules in its place. The Borg route. For instance, the bible has something like 330 laws and rules, yet the Jehovah's Witnesses elders book has over a thousand rules.

  3. I don’t think that description would pass spokesman club SPS rules.

  4. Quite so anon 1:20:46 and anon 2:53:29.
The internet is the greatest enemy of Armstrongism and its cultic brothers. It exposes the dark side of their public facade.
As to rules and regulations, Orthodox Judaism sets a high standard for many cults to aspire too lol. I lived in Israel for a number of years and saw first hand their closed societies. But a word of caution. Many in these ‘cults’ are perfectly happy with their lot. And I have friends tied to organisations that are perfectly cultic in their practices who are generally nice folk. Until you engage them in ‘meaty’ theology that contradicts what they take as ‘law’. Such is life. I think engagement is important though. But you can see the Borg influences ha ha. As to Thiel and his group, they will pass from the scene in due course as not even a footnote in history.
