Christ's "call no man your Teacher" and "call no man your Master" is a condemnation of coercive control. 1Thessalonians 5:21 instructs Christians to "prove all things," so we don't need no mental seeing eye dog like HWA telling us what's the truth.
Reminding me of the old radio broadcast "Echo of Prophecy" with Pastor Roosevelt Franklin of Macon, GA. Franklin sounded like he was in the middle of the Macon Coliseum, with an echo effect.

Yes, 12:43, people starting up new Armstrong projects should check out my comment in the thread concerning the latest UCG focus group! Back in 1975, when the end failed to materialize, (to paraphrase Bo Diddley) many of us threw Armstrongism into the garbage!

People are trying to resurrect the Church of Herb because during that era, if Herb said 2 + 2 = 5, members were expected to believe him. And many did, since they were new to Christianity and had transferred the trust they had in their school teachers onto Herb. Many are still in love with his distortions and half truths, and so hanker for those 'good old day.'

Hey anon 6:39:47 PM PST, Let’s all hold a minutes silence for all the victims of the Worldwide Church of God. The broken and destroyed families. Marriages. The failed prophecies. The deeply flawed theology like BI.The list is enormous. Many of us ‘hide’ behind anonymous comments here because we may have family and friends still tied to Armstrongism, but also because of our own experiences, realise the abuse that may follow us if we reveal our identities.
I hope he won't just spend people's tithe money on snack foods!
