Right-U-R 6:43! The point you make is appropriate to just about everything that exists. The problem is that the COGs which we label "A"COGs (so that folks have a clue regarding their origin) make a Federal out of their own subset of specific pecadillos. These act as shibboleths enabling us to identify comments made by Armstrongites! And, of course, these shibs invalidate anything else they say in their comment.
Not all COG criticisms of Xmas are valid. Many are. Those that are not valid do not invalidate those that are.
