Pasadena was an exception because WCG/AC bought up as much property around the campus as they could plus the "freeway homes" (houses on a proposed freeway route that the church bought at bargain prices). In Big Sandy many ministers lived on campus on Faculty Row but I had neighbors who were ministers who owned their own homes. When I lived in other church areas, all the ministers owned their own homes or rented from a third party.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-38156878044616401982016-01-12T02:10:45.907-08:002016-01-12T02:10:45.907-08:00Do the ministers own their homes or are they owned...Do the ministers own their homes or are they owned by LCG? In the past WCG used to own the ministers homes and they were not officially permitted to buy their own home. That's a great way of making sure the ministers tow the party line. Any deviation and you're out. He took his watch off and held it up. He then said, "This watch cost about $5,000. When you hear that I have sold this watch and given the money to the church, then perhaps you can think about mortgaging the family home or farm for the benefit of the work. Remember that you have a responsibility to provide for your family and yourself." I respected him for that statement, perhaps the most reasonable thing I ever heard a minister say on that subject.

GlennAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-64964301119111999412016-01-11T20:42:39.736-08:002016-01-11T20:42:39.736-08:00April is early this year.April is early this year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-34041560167865208082016-01-11T16:49:32.085-08:002016-01-11T16:49:32.085-08:00No2HWA said, "In our dreams..."

What exactly is this wealth that members 'very rarely touch'? Is he referring to peoples pension money, the interest that they live on? Or the houses that the widows and grannies live in? Will he convince them to sell up and move to trailer parks or one room apartments. Isn't this what the Pharisees did, but for the 'work' of course:
Luke 20:47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers (long, coworker letters): the same shall receive greater damnation.

Why not go all the way and make Soylent Green biscuits of the elderly, widows, and grannies. It's a Mark 10:21 thing. Unfortunately ACOG ministers would probably respond just as the young man who had approached Jesus.

The funny thing is, if they deeded their homes to LCG, they'd most likely still be able to live in them. The church would have the equity to apply to getting the Armstrongite gospel out.

They're probably saying to themselves, "But, that's different!"

BB
Byker Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602697337552385535noreply@blogger.com
