I personally believe that if the occupants were praying for protection, God could have answered their prayer. I believe, however, that most Christians would not only be praying for the protection of their own family, but also for the protection of everyone else in their community, or at the very least, their friends and neighbors.

Tornadoes are fairly unpredictable in their paths, and the damage which they do, so it's possible that a house still standing is part of the natural phenomenon.

Personally, if I were in a house in the tornado's path, were praying, and the house was spared, I would be thanking God when it was all over, going out to help my neighbors who were not so fortunate, and using my home as a comfort station to help as many neighbors as possible. And, I wouldn't be bragging or inviting the neighbors to my church. That sort of behavior smacks of elitism, and is almost guaranteed to cause resentment.

BB

Byker Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602697337552385535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226103369043606765.post-50431659462303170562013-06-03T08:45:49.149-07:002013-06-03T08:45:49.149-07:00Hey, I have a great idea!

She says things such as, 'We have always had this or that, so why pay attention?'

I acknowledge that yes we have always had this and that, but we have not had this vast number of them or had so much in a small time frame.

The point of the matter is when should one pay attention? At what point should we caught ourselves and say that we need to sit back and take a serious look at this?

Is it wise to simply ignore what is happening around us? Is what is happening around us, normal? When in your mind or mine, is it wise to acknowledge that someone is trying to get our attention?

What does it take? A city block? Half a city? A whole city? What about an entire State?
