Is Gerald Flurry Purging Ministers As PCG Starts Imploding?

The COG's most important man, after Dave Pack of course, is Gerald Flurry.  His angry jowl flapping face rages continually against his members and the world around him.  Flurry has always held always held his lower echelon members in contempt:

The Exit and Support site has several letters from former members that have been detailing upheavals in the Trinidad PCG and of various PCG ministers getting canned.  Apparently the Turgeon and Culpepper clans are waging war against those they perceive to be disloyal.

Cal Culpepper has been given Aaron Eagle's duties by GF. This means that Culpepper is going to have to move to be more centrally located in his area. Culpepper is more dictatorial than Aaron, and members are dreading him taking over. They are expecting him to "clean house" on the members once he takes over. --Informer

With his rapidly falling income, disgruntled members, and rebellious ministers, Flurry's cult is on a downward spiral.  All is no longer glorious or righteous in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Recent PCG ministers canned/or told to resign have been Aaron Eagle - who "...disfellowshipped members right and left"; Craig Winters, Regional Director Florida and Bryan Weeks, Mail Processing Manager.

Other letter writers talk about the abuse they have been receiving from various COG ministers with one person even detailing how Brian Davis disfellowshipped their 13 year old son.  Brian Davis has a long track record of spiritual abuse towards members.  One write to E&S says:

Then they sugar-coat this reality by saying that these ex-ministers are "still a member in good standing." My source recently informed me that Gerald Flurry is cutting back on the Performances at Armstrong Auditorium. Apparently future plans to produce/bankroll any of Ryan Malone's Musical extravaganzas now takes a back seat in Flurry's mad quest to buy a used private Jet. The recent crash and burn of "The Widow's Mite" and it's poor box office proceeds and public interest has convinced Flurry to severely cut back on the Edmond Elites River dancing fun. Could the negative Publicity surrounding Flurry's River-dancing excesses exposed by Anti-PCG blogs/websites be finally taking its toll on the troubled Prophets mind? Is this a good excuse to drop a embarrassing money drain that is not all that popular with the exploited non-Edmond PCG sheep? Why fund musicals to half empty auditoriums? 

Flurry had also said in the Sermon that the PCG has some qualified church members who work or have worked in the field of Aviation and that they would serve to maintain Flurry's private jet. There maybe a possibility that the PCG will have its own PCG pilots to fly Flurry around the world and PCG ground crews to maintain the Jet in flying order. Of course there will be no shortage of potential Stewardesses (Armstrong College coeds?) to serve the top ranking PCG male leaders as they take their message around the world. This use of only PCG members to man Flurry's Jet will apparently reduce the cost to the Church as they would not have to contract out with a "worldly" firm. 

The Key of David will also be axed from some "unproductive" stations. It seems the PCG rates the productivity of a TV station by how much money and solicitations for Literature they receive. As some have already said Gerard Flurry's is no Garner Ted and his very poor, uninspiring, and lackluster pretense as the main Key of David presenter is the chief handicap to getting more interest in the show worked up. 

There are whispers amongst the PCG members on Flurry's recent demand from the Pulpit. Most of the more sensible non-kool aid drinking people are asking "How can we afford a Plane"? However the hard core Flurryites are ecstatic that old 6-pack will be following in HWAs footsteps and will be the catalyst for the PCG to finally go to their Petra reward. Flurry was wise to throw the PETRA bone the the PCG members at the same time he asked for a Private Jet. Carrot and a Stick?

Cut-Off Policy Regarding Non-Baptized Children Can't Stop the Flow of Information:

The cut-off policy regarding non-baptized children is just another way for Gerald Flurry and company to believe they are in control. 

This is directed primarily at the non-baptized, underage children who have been able to maintain a relationship with those who have left PCG. 

Does Gerald Flurry and PCG really think that they can stop the flow of information? 

What are they really trying to hide? I thought that PCG was to have a message that would reach the "Laodiceans," and preach the Gospel to the whole world. 

Instead, they have been in existence for nearly 27 years (and still remain paranoid that people are out to get them). 

The facts are that the PCG is hemorrhaging, and they are blaming others for their failures. 

Here is a small list of what is going on there: 

1) By their own admission PCG is currently experiencing a 25% drop in income. How long till the cut backs, and layoffs come?  

2) They "reach out" on their college radio station (that about 300 people, mostly PCG members and co-workers) listen to. 

3) They are seriously considering buying and operating a private jet. 

4) When you consider that, despite their critical financial position, a multi-million dollar dancing facility is being built. Jude Flurry (Stephen's son), is one of the top Irish dancers in the world. 

5) The PCG taught that the WCG (under Joe Tkach, Sr.) made Ambassador College the focus, and not the message, and now PCG, especially Stephen Flurry, is doing just that. 

The majority of the information that I (and several others have found out about PCG) comes from their own websites, members writing to ESN ( and other related sites), and PCG members social media accounts. PCG Makes It Offical That They Dumped 4.5 Million In Tithe Money On Edstone House UK

Just as Jesus supposedly walked the hills of England, so thinks the PCG that Shakespeare might have walked the hallowed grounds of Edstone - as if any PCG student or member would read the pagan Shakespeare's possessed writings!

The Philadelphia Church of God has now made it official that they bought the property in England in order to establish another Herbert W Armstrong "college."  Rumors have been swirling around for a while now abort the PCG looking into buying property in the UK.

The PCG cult had hoped to buy the former Bricket Wood campus of Ambassador College.  That fell through when local zoning ordinances stopped the current developer from building condo's and restricted the sale of the mansion and other buildings.

The PCG was not happy that word had slipped out that they were negotiating with millions of dollars of tithe money for this property.  Now they have admitted that they have bought a new property that we previously reported about here:

The PCG News has this to say today about how their god has been working behind the scenes on making this property available to them.  Just like the printing press and jet airplanes, this house apparently was built in 1939 to be specifically bought by Gerald Flurry in the end times.

EDMOND—The Philadelphia Church of God officially purchased a new campus in England on November 12. United Kingdom/Europe Regional Director Brad Macdonald received the keys today from a Sotheby’s real estate agent, marking the official closing of the deal and opening of a new chapter for the Church’s work in Britain and Europe.

The estate will serve as a new location for the Church’s regional office in England. A handful of students from Herbert W. Armstrong College will also travel to England to support the Church’s work in the region.

Edstone Hall, a 24,000-square-foot mansion in the Warwickshire countryside, contains more than 30 rooms. Built in 1939 in the art deco style, the building has an oak double-door entrance into a stained glass vestibule, stone mullion windows, stone fireplaces, balconies, a 5,500-square-foot Georgian cellar, a Cotswold stone roof and a detached garage. The 22-acre campus sits among the meadows about 4 miles north of Stratford-upon-Avon.

The parkland surrounding the hall includes meadows, pastures and woodland including mature oak and beech trees, as well as walking paths, gardens and a cedar of Lebanon; it also overlooks a large pond. The property also includes planning permissions for a 10,000-square-foot additional building, and an indoor swimming pool and a leisure complex.

“I believe God has long been preparing Edstone for His Church,” Mr. Macdonald said. “Edstone is ideal for the pcg—a perfect combination of majesty and functionality. It’s dignified and impressive, yet practical and sensible.”

It will be interesting to see how the neighborhood react to having an American cult in their midst that is going to be staffed by the elite of the Edmond compound.

Assistant dean of students Eric Burns announced on October 29 that 11 Herbert W. Armstrong College students and graduates from Edmond—Christopher Eames, Jessie Hester, Samuel Livingston, Kiall Lorenz, Brooke Davis, Victoria Lancaster, Nick Irwin, Emmanuel Michels, Kaitlin Eames, Anya Trietsch, Paris Turgeon—will transfer to Edstone to serve in the pcg office for the spring semester.

UK office staff and contractors are currently renovating Edstone Hall, updating fixtures and appliances, and installing new flooring, partition walls, paint and a computer network. pcg chief operations officer Andrew Locher said the technology should increase website performance, create a secure connection to the Church’s headquarters campus, and facilitate broadcast production.
Meanwhile, the Church’s regional office operations will move from a 900-square-foot facility in the Northampton town center to approximately 5,000 square feet in Edstone Hall devoted to office space.

PCG members will soon be able to look forward to mass appeals for more offerings and financial donations towards the upkeep of this financial boondoggle.  As the PCG shrinks in membership money is also starting to shrink.  How long will it be till either Edmond or Edstone is closed down and sold to the Catholic Church or Scientology?

Gerald Flurry And How He Is Justifying Ripping Families Apart

A few days ago a person with PCG ties sent this blog, Silenced and a couple of others a copy of the latest Royal Vision.  In this issue is an article that was approved by Gerald Flurry for publication, Preserving Unity God's Way written by Brian Davis.  The particular story the person wanted publicized was the on on unity.  

Unity is a huge issue today in the Churches of God.  After the melt down of the Worldwide Church of God in 1996 and onward, numerous splinter personality cults formed and took tens of thousands of members with them.  These harlot daughters of the WCG have never recovered from the dissolution of the church and have never been able to maintain unity in their groups. 

Its no wonder unity cannot be preserved when these groups when the very founders were the original ones causing division.The Royal Vision rag is a for the members of PCG who are in good standing with everything Flurry teaches.  Thankfully that number is shrinking more and more each day as the PCG looses control of its members

In this article Brain Davis seeks to justify the PCG's perverted reasoning as to why they label all exCOG members as Laodicean and why PCG member should cut off all contact with them, including family members.

Countless horror stories have emerged from people who have witnessed the appalling actions of PCG members towards family and friends.

Notice that the article cannot even start with Jesus and any mercy that he was constantly showering on people.  Instead the article immediately starts out with big bad meanie Satan who seems to be the most powerful person in Armstrongism.  Never ones to rest in the safety of Jesus, the Armstrongite groups, and PCG in particular, cower in fear.  Satan is the ultimate god of the COG.  That is all they seem to be able to talk about and give power to.

 

The article immediately starts out by mocking PCG members who question Gerald Flurry's personal teachings on this subject.  Many have refused to stop talking to relatives and friends and Davis is not happy.  His god would NEVER allow PCG members to do such a thing.

Gerald Flurry has never been known to come up with anything original so he has to revert back to the failed utterances of Herbert Armstrong concerning wayward members.  This was the only way Herbert could keep the membership ion line so Gerald has to do the same thing, Its was and still is a control issue. 

Herbert Armstrong always loved to call church members "dumb sheep."  Church members are naive and unthinking and apparently the dumbest creatures on the face of the planet.  So stupid that they give Satan power to corrupt them.  Maybe part of that problem is that most church members know noting about Jesus. Again, that's another story.

Next Davis warns PCG members to NOT even allow these disgusting vile ex-member family members into their homes.  Their mere presence brings in the doctrine of demons.

As you can see Davis also warns members that these disgusting people can enter their homes in ways other than the front door.  Pretty soon PCG will be banning cell phones, televisions, Internet and email.   Evil people such as this are spiritual fornicators.  Even though certain individuals at the PCG compound are fornicating, that apparently is not as bad as exCOG members.  Like every single COG leader in charge today in all the various groups, they pick and choose what they beliefs and doctrines the elite will practice while having another standard for the membership

Since they cannot actually PROVE this doctrine from the Bible, no matter how  hard they try, they have to resort to REVEALED information from Gerald Flurry.  God apparently speaks to Gerald all the time.  From revealing hidden books, to how to build a mini-me auditorium, and how to dream up aberrant doctrines.

 

Read below Flurry's take on Herbert's "dedication" to the youth of the WCG.  All of those thankless children turned their backs on Herbert just like they are turning their backs on Gerald.


Flurry now has taken upon himself a new title - "breaker."   But who is leading this "breaker?"  It certainly is NOT God.  Its not Jesus because they cant even utter his name 99% of the time.

Like all other COG leaders from HWA on down, it is always someone else's fault.  Its not Flurry's fault that he invented this disfellowshipment/shunning doctrine.  It is the xCOG members fault.  It was THEY that departed from the one true, holy, apostolic Church of God.

The ironic thing that is disturbing a LOT of PCG members in the Edmond Oklahoma area is how they are forced to cut off contact with friends and relatives because they are considered unclean, but have to watch as Flurry and crew hobnob and court rich old Christmas/Sunday keeping ladies from Edmond in order  to keep their concert series afloat.  Its no problem dealing with these pagans, but it is perfectly OK to ignore your children or parents.

Lil'Joel Hilliker Says No To Immigrants, Body Graffiti and Bad Hair

No millennial lion and lamb tattoo's for PCG members!

The PCG has an article up about God has preserved "pure religion" in the PCG.  One of the ways PCG's god preserves pure religion is in marriage. Its rather odd to see this article considering how the PCG has a horrible track record of breaking up marriages (see here.)  Even when non-believing spouses desire to live with PCG member spouses, the goons in charge in Edmond tell the member to divorce their spouse and take all the money they can from them.

Why the PCG trots out Lil'Joel Hilliker, who has absolutely no qualifications to be discussing "pure religion" and marriage other than reading PCG booklets on the subject, is beyond most peoples comprehension.

Jumping from marriage Lil'Joel lets the world know that the Philadelphia Church of God is anti-immigrant.  Never mind the FACT that this entire nation was populated by immigrants. 

God’s laws reveal His desire to protect Israel from the idolatry that saturated the surrounding peoples. “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues,” Revelation 18:4-5 say. “For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” That is a command to us as well, which is why the specific laws God gave Israel on this point are so relevant today.

When God brought the Israelites into the Promised Land, He used them as His instrument of judgment against the idolatrous pagans. Contemplate His command in Deuteronomy 12:1-3. Consider how this precisely parallels what Christ is going to do when He returns to this Earth (e.g. Revelation 19:11-15). At the same time, this command was also meant to protect the Israelites and preserve the one true religion.

He next trot's out the old catch phrase of the Church of God movement: "We are in the the world but not part of it."

The people of God’s Church are in the world but not of it (e.g. John 17:14-16). We must be careful not to get wrapped up in the activities, business, customs and practices of this world. We all must examine ourselves individually and consider things like our dress, our language, our music and entertainment. Consider: God gave Israel specific laws about hairstyle, of all things. Clearly, God does care, and He wants His people to maintain high standards even amid a degenerating world.

Apparently some of the PCG women are having some hairstyle issues.  Gerald Flurry was none too happy when this was taken at the Feast of Trumpet's dance this year:

 Read Leviticus 19:27 where God forbade hairdos that were popular among idolatrous priests. He didn’t give this law so His people would look freakish—but to prevent them from looking freakish. Read verse 28 where He outlawed cutting your own body out of grief, as well as tattooing or making marks on your body. These practices all have pagan origins. God wants us to treat our bodies with respect and to avoid disfiguring or harming them. God says your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. He doesn’t want you making permanent marks on it any more than He wants you defacing His house with graffiti!

 Next Lil'Joel whines about PCG members reading dissident literature:

These laws directly correlate to New Testament commands about what to do when a Church member embraces dissident material or tries to pollute the true religion (see, for example, Romans 16:17; Galatians 1:8-9; 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 14; 1 Timothy 3:5; 6:5; Titus 3:10-11; 2 John 10-11). God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is just as concerned about purity in the congregation today as He was anciently—and, spiritually, He deals with the problem today the same as He did anciently.

Well...I'm glad to be part of the dissident material that upsets PCG so terribly. I know PCG is mad at me since their servers regularly check out this blog.  I have Rod Meredith mad at me.  Dave Pack is mad at me.  Wade Cox is mad at me.  I must be doing something right!

Anyone who was in the PCG 10 years ago can tell you that never would a Michael Jackson song be used. Never. Nor would it even be played at a youth camp dance because they disagree with his lifestyle and what he stood for; i.e., “Jesus Juice”; etc. It was common for PCG to shun any sort of music, artist, etc. who had their sinful lifestyle out in the open. This is common knowledge to anyone familiar with the PCG. 

 

The fact that they have now used MJ’s song, which was clearly permitted by Stephen Flurry, indicates to me that when SF finally gets to completely take over he will “liberalize” the PCG. I think he can look at PCG’s trajectory: financial records, membership numbers, and recognize that something needs to change if he and his family are going to continue to be supported financially by the PCG. He is not going to be able to continue the ruse as his father and HWA before him. PCG has already lowered their standard for who they invite to services and they still attempt to block out those they deem too strong-willed and uncontrollable. But other than that it’s “come as you are as long as you tithe.”

I just watched that YouTube clip [about “Man in the Mirror”]. It seems to me that quite a large number of those singers in the youth choir aren’t really all that enthusiastic about it. Some faces seem, to me, to be bored with it all. They are stuck in the PCG by their parents and have no way of escaping unless they are prepared to be cut off by their own parents should they decide to leave. Also, they will lose all of their close friends if they decide to leave the PCG. Cutting off family and friends is a known cult tactic designed to keep members from leaving a cult. 

 

In spite of that, people do leave and then have to suffer the consequences of their actions sadly. “Liberalism” such as having the choir sing a Michael Jackson song won’t stop PCG members from leaving if they have a strong desire to get out. Those young people are not of that generation that knew of Michael Jackson [or The Beatles] but their parents were. The PCG, just like the WCG, have to always be a generation behind in following fashion trends so that they are not considered to be “worldly.” However, worldliness catches up with them eventually as a generation moves on, so they actually become worldly anyway, in spite of being so careful about being so. –Australia

PCG Adults Switching Smartphones For Kids Troomi Phone

 

Imagine being an adult in the Philadelphia Church of God having just bought the latest smartphone and are enjoying the features that make your life more interesting and rewarding. Then the following Sabbath, your Grand Poohbah walks out on stage and plops his fat ass down in his comfy chair, and starts lecturing you about all of the things you are doing wrong as a PCG member. You are used to it though as this is what Sabbath services have been like for several decades. You know you won't hear anything about Christ since you will usually be raked over the coals for some misdeed the Grand Poohbah claims you are doing.

This Sabbath isn't much different until the Grand Poohbah says that loyal followers of God and himself should not be using or even owning smartphones! Well, CRAP! Double CRAP!!

What is a loyal PCG member to do? Keep the phone anyway and use it only when no members are around and leave it in your car when walking into church or getting rid of it and get another phone?

Apparently many PCG members are ditching their smartphones and flocking to buy a phone designed for children. This way they cannot inadvertently open a program and accidentally read all the negative publicity about the PCG! How convenient!

These are some things the Toomi phone restricts for kids, which actually isn't a bad idea, but is foolish for adults that should have the ability to use their god-given mental functions to make their own decisions.

No internet access so PCG members can't read about the negative things about the church or the heretical doctrines it teaches. Best of all though, at $19.95 a month, there is more money to send into The Grand Poohbah! Even better than all of that is if PCG members sign up on the private PCG member page they can get a free phone!

Sadly, even though this is a child's phone, many PCG members who have switched to it do not know how to use it! Wut?

Remember those Bible Story books from the halcyon days of the Worldwide Church of God when the church had some slight relevance and meaning in peoples lives?  Remember those idyllic nights cuddled up in bed and your parents reading you cute little stories about Noah's ark and all the soft furry creatures that miraculously made their way to it?

Children in the Worldwide Church of God were scarred for life by these images.  Of course this was deliberately done.  It was a subtle tool to keep kids and members compliant to the church.  If you sinned or screwed up you would die just like these poor miserable souls, though your death would be more horrific, thanks to Rod Meredith and you would die like this:

Now you will get to relive those memories all over again.  The dark and twisted cult of Gerald Flurry and The Philadelphia Church of God are republishing this crap for a new generation of people.  Just one more tool in Flurry's arsenal on keeping the kiddies in line and submissive.

Living Armstrongism is reporting that when the PCG claims to have bought the publishing rights to The Bible Story.  LA notes that this set of books was NOT in the original number of books and booklets that PCG dished out over $3,000.000.00 for when they lost the court trail over their plagiarizing of Mystery of the Ages.

So Joel Hilliker says that PCG bought the copyright to The Bible Story. He made this claim that PCG has purchased the copyright for The Bible Story, a retelling of the Old Testament by Basil Wolverton made for HWA's WCG in 1958-1972.

In this particular segment of PCG's Trumpet Hour Hilliker talks with Brent Nagtegaal about PCG's Bible Story. While introducing this segment Hilliker makes the following statement:

Well, for several years now the Philadelphia Church of God has been working on a multi-volume project called The Bible Story. This was actually started by Herbert W. Armstrong back in the 1960s. We bought the copyrights to it and we're printing it again. (20 minutes.)

Really? PCG bought the copyright for The Bible Story? It was not one of the eighteen booklets PCG purchased in 2003. I was aware that PCG was publishing their own version of The Bible Story but this is the first time I have heard that PCG has purchased the copyright for The Bible Story.

What is going on here? Did PCG purchase the copyright without going through WCG? Did they give even more money to Tkach's WCG?

Surely Grace Communion International (WCG) did not sell more books to Flurry?   The fact that they did it in the first place raised a lot of eyebrows considered they believe everything that Herbert Armstrong taught was heresy.  But I guess money still speaks louder than integrity.

PCG Member Ignores Relative On His Deathbed And Chooses To Go To The Feast Instead

 

The utter depravity of Armstrongism rears its ugly head now and then, particularly in the more aberrant personality cults like the Philadelphia Church of God. Leaders in these groups pretend that they speak for God and have restored truths never understood for 2,000 years. God supposedly speaks directly through them and the members lap it all up as divine truth.

The PCG has made a huge effort over the years to break up families and destroy marriages if any of their members associate with former members and family members and have left the church. In many documented cases there have been suicides due to the heavy burdens placed upon the members.

When you read below the accounts of PCG members turning their backs on family members it is appalling. Utter disgust is the only word for these people.

My grandpa is currently on his deathbed and his son will not come and say his final goodbyes because there is some sort of PCG feast going on in another state at the moment. I am at a loss of what to do. Our family is devastated. Is there anyway I can help them break free of this cult or is the reality that they will not leave unless it’s initiated by themselves? That’s horrible about the son in PCG refusing to visit his dying grandfather during the Feast, but not surprising. Some PCG members actually look at a situation like this as a “badge of honor” for not leaving the FOT for any purpose, even a death in the (non-member) family. My mate in PCG has told me about PCG members’ non-member spouses dying, or being critically ill, yet they brag about still attending. If that’s not sick and twisted, I don’t know what is. I remember being told about a PCG member whose spouse (also a member) who died right before the FOT. The member had his spouse’s body stored frozen in the funeral home’s freezers until he could return home and take care of the arrangements. –Impacted by loved one in PCG

...it appears that Gerald Flurry has given his privileged and elite grandkids Grant and Paris Turgeon prestigious “Air Steward” jobs paid for with the tithes and offerings of the “sheeple” of the Church. They went on an all-expenses paid trip to Florida to attend an expensive Flight Attendant Training school. Gerald Flurry wants the best for his own family of course. Not only were all of Grant’s and Paris’s expenses paid for (Travel, Food, Lodging) – but they were PAID for their time as well as Church employees. This is in stark contrast to the common lowly non-Edmond/HQ sheep class of the PCG who had to stay in a Motel 6 or Day’s Inn at the 2017 Feast because they could not afford the rooms listed in the Feast Brochure.

All this is in stark contrast of course to the recent letter posted on Exit and Support Network which tells of the common non-Edmond class of PCG member who are stying in "Fleabag" motels and bouncing checks because of their own dire financial problems.

Flurry Uses Guilt and Threats at Feast Time:

Hello to Mike and all of the workers at Exit Network Support™. I have been out of the PCG for 5 years. I came into the PCG in the '90s under Dennis Leap and Wilbur Malone. Things were kind of strict back then but now....boy, it is hard to believe.

I do read your letters section to try and keep up with what has been happening since I have been out. I have been reading your postings from 2018. I was told by someone in the know that Flurry in November of 2017 gave a corrective sermon to the PCG people. 

Apparently two things happened connected with the 2017 FOT. (See November 30, 2017 letter: Some Members Not Staying at Designated Hotels at Feast) One was that people are starting to rebel against the strict hotel reservation commands given out from HQ. So many PCG people are finding it hard to pay for the over-inflated prices at these ritzy hotels that people are going to Motel 6 and Day's Inn, Ramada, etc., without telling their local ministers. With prices on the Feast brochures of the cheapest rooms around $80-99 dollars a night (budget rooms) people have disobeyed the orders of Flurry and have booked non PCG approved accommodations. 

Well, Flurry said that there were so many rooms not used by the PCG members that HQs had to pay thousands of dollars in fees/fines to all of the hotels per contract. This hit into the PCG budget as it costs even more to fuel up Flurry private jet. He said that from now on people have to counsel with the minister or they will have to be corrected. 

Also, Flurry said that after the Feast was over and all of the personal checks from the members were cashed, quite a few checks bounced. Flurry was very upset because the HQs had to pay fees once again--this time to the bank. Apparently, a lot of pressure was put on the membership this Feast to pay up. I suppose the usual guilt and threat of eternal death was dangled in front of their eyes. So a lot of people gave more money (wrote checks) under that influence than they had to give. 

I remember in the mid/late '90s that we had some wonderful Feasts. I know it was all a lie but back then we had money to spend. We stayed in some nice hotels and ate steak and drank nice wine. We even bought whole bottles of wine for the table. I never heard back then of checks bouncing like that or rooms not being used. I think things are so hard on my friends still in that they are trying so hard to please God/Flurry that they are doing things that they never had to do before, like staying in nasty flea bag motels. So many are old and retired and on fixed incomes. They are not getting in any new members and the young singles are fleeing once they turn 18--some even before they reach 18. I have quite a few dear ones that have died after I left. I never got to say goodbye.

A member told me that they do not care anymore about "getting a lot of members" anymore. They prefer to be small and stay small. They are "God's Elite" and only a small elite are going to be stationed in the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem. Flurry has told them that God is separating out the chaff from the wheat and only those totally loyal will be allowed to go to the Place of Safety. I know of one old couple in their mid 70s who have cut out eating little luxuries like ice cream and sending the money to Flurry so he can fly to where he wants to go. 

I hope the whole PCG collapses and I can see my friends again.

Dennis Leap: All Children Outside of the PCG are Cut Off from God

Of all the people in the Philadelphia Church of God for some reason, Dennis Leap is the one who writes about children the most.  This time his is expounding on the PCG's stance on children of members and their standing with the god of PCG.  Like almost every article that PCG publishes, Leap uses old worn out comments by Herbert Armstrong is if they were some kind of "gospel truth."

Unable to ever make a theological decision on their own, they have to rely on HWA's public library training as the foundation for their "truth's."

PCG believes that their children and only their children have access to God.  All other children who have the misfortune of not being born into the PCG are cut off from access to God, or at least the god of the PCG.  Even then there is a qualification for PCG members, only children of TRULY CONVERTED PCG members have access to that god.

All of those cute little babies of UCG, LCG, RCG, COGWA and the improperly named "continuing" Church of God are damned to utter destruction during the end times for not being PCG.  The god of PCG only loves PCG babies and none others. Even Bob Thiel's double blessing cannot save his follower's children.

We need to take in the significance of what Christ has established through Mr. Armstrong. This truth holds incredible meaning for our children. Our children are not cut off from God. They have access to God. This means that our children are in a different category than all other children on the planet! Of course, God loves all the children in this world—John 3:16 tells us that—but God is only working closely with our children at this time.

Mr. Armstrong wrote, “While other people—not members of the true body of Christ—and all other children are cut off from access to God, your children—if you are a truly converted member of God’s Church—can believe in Christ—are not cut off from God—and much of God’s truth, even though as yet too young to be converted. But they are a special treasure to God!” (ibid). Do we get what Mr. Armstrong is teaching here? Children of members can have a relationship with Christ and come to understand God’s truth because of their parents’ calling. Mr. Armstrong adds that they are a special treasure to God. How inspiring, exciting and thrilling! Do we realize what a sacred treasure our children are? Our Sacred Children: How well do you understand what God has given His Church concerning child rearing?

Part of the reason so many children are cut off from God is that Satan entered their mind as soon as they were born and now controls everything they do.

Here is the revealed knowledge necessary to deeply understand child rearing. Mr. Armstrong continued in the same article, “To understand, you need to know all about the spirit in man and how it operates. You need to know precisely what is human nature. You need to know how Satan operates—especially on children. You need to know in what manner God has set you—and your children—apart from this world.

“You need to know at what age Satan gets into your child’s mind. You need to know whether your child has access to God ….” You will not find these truths explained in any book from a bookstore. These are the deep thoughts of God that have been graciously given to us to use (1 Corinthians 2:10-12). We must study, believe, think about and learn to apply each of these in our family life.

The "deep thoughts of God?"  Seriously?

Mr. Armstrong stated, “Now see how that applies to the children of converted parents. It does not mean they may be converted while still too young. It does mean they are not, like children of unconverted parents, cut off from God. It means that they may be taught about God by the believing parent” (ibid). Teaching about God and His purpose for mankind is the most important aspect of child rearing. Let’s expend some effort to understand the magnitude of this statement.

Here’s the point. Why should our young children be taught about God? Because God makes it possible for them to understand the truth! Do we get it? Our children can grasp the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Our children can know that God is a family into which they can be born. Our little toddlers can be taught to realize that God is offering them the opportunity to rule the universe. People in this world have such great difficulty accepting these wonderful truths of God because their minds are full of religious error. When parents faithfully do their part, a little child is able to grow up without being subjected to Satan’s religious deceit. Keeping our children’s minds free of error gives them an incredible edge in preparation for the Kingdom of God.

Mr. Armstrong continued, “Your children are in a special (consecrated) category. You may teach them about Christ—about the things of the Bible. Their chances of being converted when sufficiently mature are multiplied!” (ibid). Are we giving our children the full advantage that God wants them to have? We must never leave this kind of teaching to chance, or expect that our children will somehow get it by themselves. It takes vision, preparation and effort. All parents must have an organized plan for instructing their children.

I guess no parent outside the COG can teach their children about Jesus and God.  More idiotic malarkey. I know a gay couple who's kids know more about Jesus than 99.9% of the PCG members do.

Even with all of their self-righteous chest thumping, PCG admits it is unable to keep all of its youth in the church:

From time to time we are confronted with young people who leave the pcg. This is a hard thing for parents and the ministry alike. We must all examine ourselves to see where we can do a better job. It is true that every child will not necessarily come into God’s Church. God has given every human the freedom to make a choice. Yet we must ensure that our teaching is not the cause. We are the last-hour generation. It is the time of Satan’s greatest wrath (Revelation 12:12). We witness the evil of man coming to its full expression, bringing tremendous pressure on us and our children. It is not an easy time. This is reality.

Their solution to this is to publicly mark the children or teen or tell its parents to take it to the mall and leave it behind.

Yet there is still marvelous hope. Mr. Armstrong wrote, “Although Satan is going to influence your children, almost from birth, toward his selfish and rebellious attitude, you may counteract this by teaching your children the truth about God! And when sufficiently adult they will be called. None of this is true of children outside truly converted parents!” (ibid). We should be as positive as Mr. Armstrong. Let’s never forget that we have the power of the Almighty God behind us and our children!

Being the last-hour generation gives us some incredible advantages. With so many prophecies being fulfilled and such excitement in the Work, we are not at a loss for rousing examples to teach our youth. We can easily demonstrate how God works both in this world and in His Church. Do you see that we have a unique opportunity to make God real for our children?

How can a personality cult like PCG claim to make God and Jesus real to their children when they ignore Jesus as a church?

Dennis Leap's nonsense is just as big a lie as the one promoted by HWA and others that claim there are no real Christians outside the Church of God movement.  Sadly many COG members to this day still believe this malarkey.

Dennis Leap / Philadelphia Church of God: Our Child Rearing Practices Are The Only Reliable Way To Raise A Child

The Philadelphia Church of God has a new article up about how "sacred" their children are.  It is an article by Dennis Leap, PCG's right hand code enforcer.  One would think by reading the headline that PCG values their children as a gift from God.  However, their actions towards children and the demolition of familial ties bear a striking alternative to this deceptive article.

Leap starts his article off with a blatant threat towards any true PCG member.  Any questions they may have about PCG's child rearing practices are NOT to be questioned. PCG's understanding is a DIRECT revelation from their god.  How dare anyone question that!  Even though Flurry and crew made it all up, it is still directly from their god.

God’s Church’s teaching about child training is unique. Why? It has come by special revelation from God. How well do you understand what God has given His Church concerning child rearing?

Only God’s Church has knowledge about child rearing given directly by God. What God has revealed to the Church is the only reliable knowledge that gives the desired results. Herbert W. Armstrong was personally very excited about the new revelation given on child rearing. We should be too. But are we? If we are, then we will be putting what we’ve learned into practice.

Proper child rearing in the PCG cult can only happen when proper chain of command in a marriage takes place.  Submission to government is the entire point of the "whole truth" that PCG is trumpeting.  Subservient wives raise subservient children.

Today we must make sure that we do get the whole truth on marriage, family and child rearing. God is helping us do that in a remarkable way. How? The Philadelphia Church of God must fight to preserve God’s truth. God knows that humans treasure what they have to fight for. But we don’t fight for the truth just so we can put it on a shelf. We fight to apply it! Jesus Christ not only used Mr. Armstrong to reveal His truth, He used Mr. Armstrong to show us how to put it into action. The end-time type of Elijah knew that coming to a full understanding of God’s revealed truth takes much hard work, which includes study, constant and consistent review, strong teaching on the part of the ministry, and daily practice.

PCG "fights" to preserve marriages by kicking out spouses, breaking up marriages where a spouse is a non-believer or worse yet, an EX COG member.  That alone ranks right up there with the unpardonable sin in the PCG cult.  Marriages have been ripped apart by the church telling wives to leave their husbands, or husbands to leave their unconverted wives behind.  Because they are unconverted then they get special dispensation to remarry within the church, usually to PCG members approved by the hierarchy.

Even though the PCG only has "true" marriages, these marriages produce children that are almost immediately taken over by Satan.

PCG accomplishes that by corporal punishment.  Beating children into submission so they sit for two hours on a blanket.  PCG accomplishes this by telling parents to kick teenagers out onto the street if they are the least bit rebellious.

Flurry goes on to quote HWA about his concerns in the early 1980's that huge numbers of young people were NOT continuing on in the church.  Flurry and HWA blamed the parents.  Never mind the fact that these youth saw the abuse, experienced the abuse, and lived the lies that the church was fostering off as "truth."  When its very own leaders, from the top down (including Flurry), were corrupt to the core, why would these youth remain in a fraudulent organization?

In the early ’80s, many young people who were raised in the Church, did not grow up to become members of God’s Church. Mr. Armstrong was greatly disturbed by this trend. He placed the blame where it belonged—on the parents. He wrote, “Brethren, God’s Church is not showing even half the growth it should have from the oncoming generation of our members. This shows we have neglected the teaching of our children! When God has called you for special service in loyally backing the proclaiming of the gospel to the world by God’s Church, He intended that your children should also be called and enter into the Work of God’s Church” (ibid). Besides teaching our children about God, we must also teach them about His Work and show them how to back and support the Work. If our hearts are truly in the Work, this will not be difficult to accomplish.

Remember, as Flurry states above, children are in the church for the express purpose "entering into the the work" of the church, or in other-words - tithe paying money machines.

Flurry quotes HWA again,

“Although Satan is going to influence your children, almost from birth, toward his selfish and rebellious attitude, you may counteract this by teaching your children the truth about God! And when sufficiently adult they will be called. None of this is true of children outside truly converted parents!”

For a church that claims to be the only true church to ever exist in over 1,900 years, it has an INTENSE fear of Satan.  They have given the Satan power over them by their fear. Most Christians (except for dispensationalists) do not live in this fear, only "true" Armstrong do.

The Philadelphia Church of God has a disgusting legacy of child abuse since its creation.  That abuse is mental, physical and spiritual.  It has lead to many suicides over the years. It has ripped apart marriages and families.   How many more need to die before the sheeple wake up?
