UCG: Victor Kubik Has Successfully Guided Us Through Difficult Times And Brought Peace To The Church

United Church of God is finally ready for regime change. Will they elect a younger man who does not look backward at the glory days and actually has a forward-thinking vision? 

Don't hold your breath! 

We will probably see one of the same tired old men we have watched UCG keep in their upper echelons over the last 27 years.

Len Martin, Chairman of the Council of Elders, writes on February 28th:

After nine years of a successful presidency directing the United Church of God, an International Association (UCGIA), through some difficult times, the Council of Elders has decided in its normal three-year reaffirmation process it is time to plan for a transition to a new president. The Council will be discussing transition details with Mr. Kubik. 

 

Thanks to God, the Church has enjoyed a time of peace under the leadership of Mr. Kubik. He was instrumental in the foundation of UCGIA in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served on the Council for many years, and was the operation manager for Ministerial and Member Services before serving three terms as president. 

 

Victor and his wife, Beverly, have served the Church with many projects—directing UCGIA in all its facets. The LifeNets foundation they started 22 years ago has been very helpful to many people, and they will continue in those humanitarian efforts.

Why Bob Thiel Will NOT Be Fasting and Praying For Ukraine on March 2

Gentlemen —

I saw that many so-called/self-called “Christian” churches are calling for a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Ukraine on this coming Ash Wednesday. I also saw that some silly people are suggesting that the various Churches of God join in. Whether those suggestions are totally serious I leave for others to decide.

But there is one reason why this cannot happen. It’s on “Ash Wednesday” which is associated with Lent which is associated with Easter, and is therefore pagan through and through. (Forget, for a moment about those Old Testament Folk who went around repenting in sackcloth and ashes. The King of Nineveh being a prime example among others: “Who knows, God may yet change God’s mind so we don’t perish? *)

If doing something loving on the 14th of February is to be avoided — making love with one’s spouse for example — as was recently suggested, then the same logic applies here. Or suppose that you have a long standing tradition of giving flowers to your spouse and going out for dinner every Wednesday. On those years when 14 February falls on a Wednesday you can’t do it lest God get confused and think you’re doing it not because it’s Wednesday but rather because it’s Valentine’s Day.

Same here. Asking True Churchers to do something good (fasting and praying for Ukraine) but on a bad day (Ash Wednesday) is a non-starter. Even if satan’s own bishop, Francis, hadn’t suggested it —- suppose the idea had spontaneously arisen from the people and the Pope merely seconded the idea — his association with it is the kiss of death.

But all is not lost. The COGs can easily cancel Sabbath Services and have their members fast and pray for Ukraine at home this weekend. I expect that’s what they’ll do. But if Gary suggests it on that site of his, The Prophet will probably have an apoplectic fit as he sputters a reply.

* There is much worth considering in the short Book of Jonah, but I’ll save that for some other time.

Will the COG's Join Day of Prayer and Fasting for Ukraine

 

Various Churches of God love to declare days of fasting and prayer several times a year. They also love boasting about it and how by fasting and praying they can cause God to do something they want to happen.

Fasting and praying for something, especially during times of war, are common throughout Christianity. However, the Churches of God, particularly the Thielites, discount these actions as empty, shallow, and useless. God apparently ONLY listens to COG members' prayers and honors their fasting.

The Church of England is asking for a day of prayer and fasting, as is Pope Francis. Will the Churches of God humble themselves on their knees on this day and join in this worldwide event? Will Bob Theil set the example and shut down his homeopathic drug peddling shop to join this? Will Gerald Westin have Living Church of God members do the same, especially since Westin loves to declare days of fasting and prayer several times a year in LCG? Will Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry join in? Will the United Church of God? This group above all others should be joining in this event since they love to boast about the Ukrainian Sabbath-Keepers they are associated with there.

Fred Coulter Creates A Second Organization To Deceive COG Members

 

The Church of God is filled with so many self-important vain men who have set themselves up as new potentates of splinter groups all claiming to accurately represent first-century Christianity. Fred Coulter, the COG resident phrenologist, rebelled and left the mother church to form the Christian Biblical Church of God. The CBCG is another do-nothing church that has made no impact upon the world even after Coulter reorganized the Bible and started selling it for $175 USD.

Not able to draw in new members these guys then try to reach out to the scores of COG members who stay home and listen to tapes and recordings each week, Coulter set up the Church at Home organization. There is an untapped field of potential tithe payers sitting out there who send money to different groups as they wish and various COG leaders have continually been unsuccessful in drawing them into their groups.

In reality, this second group is nothing more than a shell front for the money-making con games of another COG leader, much like Bob Thiel's CG7 website which imitates the legitimate COG 7 Day and diverts people away to Thiel's improperly named "continuing" Church of God.

The current issue of Biblical Archaeology Review has an ad that I found interesting. I immediately figured out it was for one of the WCG offshoots, but “church at home.org” was not familiar to me. Gary, of course, would have known immediately that “church at home” was an alias for the unChristian unBiblical Church of God.

Where would the Church of God be without the British Israelism myth that it uses to support its shaky foundation? Without this myth, which has so much evidence against it, the entire system of Armstrongism collapses into a moldy heap of nothingness.

Witless Witness Knows How The Dinosaurs Died

Isn't it great to have so many intellectuals in the Church of God who know nothing about science, anthropology, theology, archeology, etc., and yet think they are instantly authorities upon everything? The church is sooooooooooooooooo blessed to have sooooooooooooooooo many amazing men as its leaders!

Ronnie Weinland, CURRENTLY the only COG leader to be a convicted felon, imagines himself a highly intelligent minister of old covenant theology and thus capable of weighing in on the destruction of the dinosaurs and plant life.

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the multitude in them. On the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it [set apart for holy use and purpose], because that on it He rested from all His work which He created and had done” (Genesis 2:1-3). 

 

Although it is explained in much greater detail in the literature from God’s Church, many people think that this account of creation being spoken of in Genesis 1 and 2 is about the time when God created the earth and universe itself. That is simply not true. The earth was created at least hundreds of thousands of years, and perhaps even millions of years earlier. That should be easy to understand by scientific evidence itself. 

 

Living creatures and plant life existed on the earth after it was first created, and there is an exceedingly vast amount of fossil evidence to this truth that exists all over this earth. However, people have not known that Satan at one time destroyed all life on earth after he had rebelled against God. The devastation he brought happened in an instant as he tried to destroy the earth itself. 

 

Satan possessed the power to rip apart vast regions of the earth, shaking it off its normal orbit and rotation, as well as completely darkening the atmosphere itself. As a result of what happened so quickly within the atmosphere of the earth, temperatures dropped so low that plant life and animal life froze completely within an instant.
