Dr. Bob Concerned That Potential Suicides in 2012 Will Result In Lower Income For LCG

Chiropractor/naturopath/COG apologist/author, and all around important person is worried that the chance of increased suicides in 2012 because of idiot false prophets will cause a drop in LCG income and the prohibition of LCG preaching it's warning to the world. (One can only hope.....!)

French Worried About 2012 Suicides: A Prelude to Interference of the Work?

The Mayan 2012 flood prophecy will be proven false.  But 2012 will affect the world in ways that most who have discussed it publicly have not mentioned.

While I have many concerns about the ramifications of the December 21, 2012 prediction (including an increase in prophetic scoffers, see 2 Peter 3:3-9, when the world does not end then), a relatively new one (for me) is that if there are massive suicides or other disturbances, this may result in governments calling for restrictions on making “end of the world” predictions.  This is especially feasible as in Malawi someone was arrested this year for pushing Harold Camping’s May 21, 2011 rapture date (see Arrest in Malawi and Stroke for Harold Camping).

This type of government action may restrict the ability of the Living Church of God to get its warning message out just prior to the start of the Great Tribulation.  Yet, for a short while it appears that we will get a lot of notice, and do the “short work”.  The late LCG evangelist John Ogwyn wrote:
God states clearly: “He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness” (Romans 9:28). Who will He use to do it? According to Daniel 11:32 it is “the people who know their God [that] shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
… Today, the Living Church of God continues to do the Work of God, proclaiming the true Gospel to a world spiraling toward destruction.  (Ogwyn J. God’s Church Through the Ages.  LCG booklet, p. 58)
We in the Church of God have tended to believe that something would stop our organized ability to proclaim biblical truths including prophetic ones:
I have personally believed that when people like I explain who the final King of the North is and that he (who many will believe is an ally of the USA and UK) will actually invade and destroy the USA and UK, that I and others in the Living Church of God may be accused of treason, hate speech, or some technical violation of some rule in order to prevent our right to proclaim the truth.

With US FCC “net neutrality” rules (which they were approved to start to use in late 2010), Malawi’s arrest, and the French government’s public concerns, we are getting close to that time when governments will be too offended by the truth and some will take steps to stop it from being proclaimed.

The organized work may be stopped by government officials (like on the internet, television, etc.) and persecutions began because people of the holy covenant are warning the world of the results of their sins (which they will not want pointed out) and teaching that the King of the North is fulfilling these prophecies in Daniel 11. The faithful may be saying things that are not “politically correct” to the point that one or more governments will take action.

And if there are problems caused by the failed 2012 prophecies, governments (including the USA one) will feel more justified to taking steps to prevent small groups (like the Living Church of God) preaching the truth about the gospel of the kingdom and the end of the world as we know it.  The French statements may be a step that will lead to that.

Does all this mean I will miss the Olympics?  :-)

  1. Ha! I bet old spanky just loves his puppet Bobby. Do you see the same ole pattern here? The Herbsters have always blamed the world for their undoing...and still will try to. Yet, the unraveling of the cult has seemed to always come from within, hence, Ratzman, split after split, failed "prophecies", authority hangups, minister worship, ad nauseam. You think maybe their god is getting fed up with them?

  2. Anyone forget about the 2012 United States elections?

I will now again make my famous predictions who will win those elections: For 35 years I have accurately predicted the outcome of every election. I expect everyone to wait and watch and see for themselves that my prognostications are 100% accurate and never fail. And my prediction is:

The Scoundrels will win and if they aren't, they will be.

It is obvious to the most unobservant observer that my predictions are much more accurate than, say, those of Roderick Meredith. Yes, we remember them from the 1960s. Dr. Bob can be an apologist all he wants, but all the apology in the world is not going to take away the championship Liar's award from Dr. Spanky. Those false prophecies are written in stone -- or at least in the old issues of The Plain Truth.

The LCG should shut the muck up. They are just so wrong. They don't have to worry about other people's false prophecies causing suicides to cause people to stop paying salaries in the LCG -- they very well better worry about the truth about British Israelism getting out. All of the Armstrongist CoGs had better worry.

When the truth about British Israelism and the fake church history hits the street in 2012 (well, maybe a little before then), all of the Armstrongists will have to rethink their strategies as the destruction, devastation, doom hit them and they have no place to hide. They may be hiding in caves, calling on the rocks to fall on them (at last! the reward of the false prophet! to be stoned to death!), but they shall not escape.

    That's not a prophecy. That's a promise.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

    No?

I guess you don't remember what I told the UCG in 2005, do you?

    Judgement, if any, awaits.

And just look what's happened to them.

    Karma is a bitch.

  3. Why would they be complaining about persecution and a possible "famine of the word"? Isn't this what they said would happen all along?

Oooohhh, because they know it's all bullshit and could derail the gravy train, that's why.

  4. The French and the Germans have kicked out Scientology.

Maybe they can finish the job and kick out the nutty Armstrongist religions.

And maybe the rest of the world could follow their good example.

  5. Once again, we witness those who want to insert themselves and their little group into the Bible.

Why do people need to do that? Why not be content to allow God to do it, through His support, witness, work, and fulfillment?

If indeed the endtime prophecies reach fulfillment in our lifetimes, I don't believe it's going to have anything to do with any of the ACOG splinters. There is no unity, their collective voice has been minimized and marginalized by endless splintering, and they are experiencing negative net growth.
Meanwhile, against the backdrop of their little soap opera, the gospel is going around the world in great power, and lives are being changed in powerful ways, but those in the ACOGs do not recognize it as such.

    Anyone can fantasize!

  6. IDIOTS, don't these COG preachers see that the only growth they are having is internal and even if the internet, TV, radio, and news papers... all got shut down it would not make any difference. They aren't growing now, they won't then. Unless they Pope-it-up and ban birth control. Mo' babies, mo' eventual members.

People can read their Bibles and can see that the garbage the COG's are peddling is just not there, does not match what is clearly written in the Bible.

People are more educated today and less gullible so Herbert W. Armstrong would never be able to grow a church today like back in the 60's and 70's.

The rest just don't care, they are too busy with Facebook, Twitter, and U tube, and video games.

Unless they play the time proven trump card - FEAR - that seems to work best especially when the income is dropping and the minister's might loose their retirement or even their pay check. What would they do - they have never done an honest days work - how would they put food on the table or pay the rent?

  8. When the time comes, the Painful Truth will use Google commercials (LATE NIGHT TV BROADCASTS) to proclaim the real truth. The Painful Truth about the Armstrong cults.

With a grasp on history dealing with apocalyptic cults, a white shirt and thick glasses, along with my ancient slide rule, I will proclaim to the world the fallacies of any of the brand(s) of Armstrong-ism to the world.

The TRUTH sets free the discerning mind. It also drives the "True Believer" further into the hands of the guru.

Let them support their guru until the day they can no longer feed their family, nor themselves. Let death be their final teacher. Let death set them free.
