No one ever said Armstrongites were not creative in their thinking! Eating mice for Halloween? I feel so left out all these years!
Is Isaiah a reference to the ancient pagan festival now called halloween with a
different spin on it where the kids go trick or treating?
Isaiah 66:17 Those who sanctify and purify themselves to enter the groves, imitating one in the center, eating the flesh of the swine, the reptile, and the mouse, shall one and all come to an end - declares the Lord. For I know their deeds and purposes.--------The church has never stated that. In the histories, when Jeroboam (I think) set up a golden calf in the north in Israel, it's been said that was at Halloween time. In any case, it was a different time than FoT, which it was made to replace.--------I've also heard that this particular holiday was moved from May 1 and that originally it was a remembrance of the dead when Noah & family came out of the Ark. Imagine how they must have felt, knowing every other living soul was dead... This is how dead became associated with the day. Perhaps.
Hallow Ween...hello! "Hallowed be thy name!" hello!! Jesus originated Hallow Ween in the Gospels during his ministry. A "Ween" must be Hewbrew for "be thy name."
ReplyDeleteAnyone can see this if they humble themselves, go with the spirit and believe me!

suateMore evidence that if one wants good, valid information, the last place we'd want to do our research would be within the resources of Armstrongism.
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder why we ever found any of this anywhere near credible!

Happy Hollows day!

Saint Herbie? The permanently dressed in Trick or Treat garb, looking like a rich and prosperous rotund Business Man?
ReplyDeleteSure was a good costume. Sure fooled me.
You don't mention that in this comment you ripped off a private forum, the answers from other members of the church explained to the questioner that this scripture had nothing to do with Halloween.
ReplyDeleteHey Ann, Welcome!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you please tell me as to WHY there are so many silly speculations on Elijah forum that have no relevance to anyone's spiritual life and why none of you ever talk about Jesus? The only thing I ever see is talk about the law and keeping it perfectly, but nothing about Jesus. I look forward to hearing your answers here as I am not allowed to communicate with you on the Elijah forum. I look forward to hearing from you! Again, welcome!
Mary
You are obfuscating Mary. How about answering my question first. Answering a question with a question is an old ploy.
ReplyDeleteDid I miss a question that Ann asked Mary?
ReplyDeleteAnd Ann, why are your knickers in a twist?
Mary, or whatever your real name is, you are one disturbed individual who may be in need of some serious psychiatric help. For someone to take posts from a private forum and then put them on a blog out of context for whatever your sick purposes are, is just downright evil. You talk about your pagan Jesus (the real Jesus kept the laws of God and the sabbath and holy days)and grace and all that love, love, love, you are really going to need God's grace for your hateful doings. Perhaps you should read the book of Esther to see what happens to people who mess with God's people. God does look after His own.
ReplyDeleteWhy are legalists sooooooooooooo bitter?
ReplyDeleteMary, or whoever you are, you should read through Jeremiah. God's covenants with Israel and Judah are irrefutable. The covenants with them still stand. Which means that God's laws that He gave to Israel and Judah, which you hate with a passion, still stand. The difference between the covenant at Sinai and the new covenant to be made with Israel and Judah did not involve changing the law upon which the original covenant was founded. Where the first covenant involved the law being written on stone tablets, the new covenant is written on their hearts and in their minds. The law truly becomes apart of the person. And as Jeremiah plainly states, the new covenant is made with the Houses of Judah and Israel. Why do you try to replace Israel and Judah with a bunch of pagan keeping Christians? God is not making the new covenant with pagan Christians, no matter how you try to twist the bible or how hard you wish or dream. And furthermore, as the Torah states, there is to be one law for all. The laws that God has given to Israel and Judah are the same for anyone else whether you like it or not. Go ahead, keep misleading people with your lies. What ate you going to tell God when He asks you why you purposely misled people?
ReplyDeleteNO2HWA: I would rather be a legalist, as you so like to put it, any day than to bow down to your pagan Christianity with all of its fakeness and fake meaning.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not bitter. I'm just tired of the lies that are being perpetrated by pagan Christianity, teaching that God's laws have been abolished or somehow morphed into some strange thing to where we no longer have to observe the sabbath and holy days or they are to be observed differently because Jesus did it all for us and now we don't have to do anything. Such nonsense. Go ahead and celebrate your pagan Christmas, your pagan Easter, your pagan Halloween or whatever pagan thing it is that floats your boat. I do not care. But stop with the lies and be honest and admit it is all pagan. Stop misleading people who are confused about things and looking for answers.
Thank you Ann for inspiring people to celebrate Halloween, Easter, and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThey are nice occasions that bring people and families together in a spirit of love.
Norm
What the heck is a "pagan Christian"?
ReplyDeleteAnyone who would casually or flippantly use such a term without knowing what was in the prayers and heart of individuals could only have come from the Armstrong cult. It's a major shibboleth.
I'd like to remind Armstrongites that NOBODY and NO ORGANIZATIONS have total 100% truth, regardless of what you might have been taught.
It is all a function of percentages. Could we say that an individual who is calloused and automatically dismissive to anyone outside of their immediate group has the truth? By their fruits ye shall know them. I've met numerous evangelicals and Baptists who pray more than Armstrongites do, experience healings and other miracles with more regularity, and treat others as Jesus would treat them.
When God came crashing back into my life about 5 years ago, He had many surprises waiting for me. One of them was a better understanding of grace, while another was more precise knowledge of the Holy Spirit and how He works interactively with us to transform our hearts and to reconcile us to Father God and Jesus Christ.
It was not the Holy Spirit who kept Armstrongism unified for so many years, it was in fact HWA's irrational and unpredictable temper and tantrums. Now that he is gone, we see the evidence that this is true by the continual splintering of the original group. Meanwhile, the gospel is getting out, very powerfully, around the world. It's just that Armstrongism has nothing whatsoever to do with it.
BB
Thanks Ann for proving once again how spiritually bankrupt Armstrongism is. "Pagan Jesus?" What a mockery you make of real Christians around the world who are the hands of Jesus in this world. This is pretty ripe coming from a "woman" who cannot even talk about Jesus or anything he taught. Pathetic! So how do you really operate with out Jesus and the Holy Spirit in your life? I would think it would be tiring to be such a miserable person all the time having to never be quit good enough for your vengeful god who is sitting up there constantly judging you.

ReplyDeleteDear Mary, you obviously can't read very well. It was a different poster, Anonymous, who used the term 'pagan Jesus'. But either way, they are right. You should be ashamed of yourself carrying on the way you do. But I doubt that a Jesuit like yourself is ashamed of any of the evils they do.
ReplyDeleteJesuit??????? LOL! I love it, but sorry to disappoint you. Nothing of the sort. I however am NOT an Armstrongite, which is FAR worse that being a Jesuit!
ReplyDeleteSo tell me who is this impostor 'jesus' you claim to follow. Since you don't talk about him how do you even know him? What good is he to you since you have all emasculate him into a created creature status below Herbie?
Those pictures of your 'Jesus' that the Roman Catholic church displays, they are none other than satan, satan looking like a long haired feminine man...
ReplyDeleteSo, maybe Jesus is a tranny who gives out hot rod trannies on Halloween?
We gave out Snickers bars.
It's the "way of give", and as Mr Armstrong would have wanted.

PS: Hey NO2HWA, when are you going to blog about the UCG/COGaWA cattle rustling in Zambia? Last I heard, the police ordered the COGaWA rustlers to return five of the rustled oxen to UCG members Armstrong and Willard. No word yet on the fate of the other oxen.
Norm:
ReplyDeleteI had a blurb about the UCG/COGWA cattle rustling episode just before the Feast on October 7. There are two posts. One from UCG's perspective and the other from COGWA's as they hit back at Kubic
Jesus was created by the most High God. He is God's first spirit son to be brought into existence.
ReplyDeleteHebrews 3:2: He was faithful to the one who created him (Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament).
The Vetus Latina, which are the first translations made from the Greek manuscripts, also translates Hebrews 3:2: poiesanti auton as creatori suo: created him.
Christ was not created a man, he was begotten. He was the only subordinate elohim/theos (angel) to be begotten.
John 1:18: God no man has seen never; [the] only begotten God the [one] being in the bosom of the Father that one declared [?him] (Marshall's Greek-English Interlinear).
Scriptures show there are other subordinate elohim/theos
Psalms 8:5: For you have made him a little lower than elohim,
Jesus the son, as all sons are, is younger than his Father - which tells you in and of itself that he is not Eternal because he has a beginning point. In fact, according to proverbs 8:22, Micah 5:2, and the apostles, Jesus was the very first of all that has come into being, being the very firstborn of all creation.
Proverbs 8:22
Yehowah made as the first or beginning of His way,
before His works of old. I was brought into
existence during the days of eternity, from the
beginning, or ever the earth was.... Blessed [is]
the man that heareth me, watching daily at my
gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For
whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain
favour of Yehowah. But he that sinneth against me
wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love
death.
Micah 5:2
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be
little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of
thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be
ruler in Israel; whose goings forth / birth / orgins
occurred long ago, during the days of eternity.
Rev 3:14
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans
write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful
and true witness, the beginning of the creation of
God. Jesus is the first or beginning of all
creation.
Col 1:15
Who is in the image of the invisible God, he is the
firstborn of every creature:
Paul admits he is a
part of creation, calling him a creature like us
humans, for as we are made in the image of the God
of Israel, so is he.
Psalm 45:6-7
[6] Your divine throne endures for ever and ever.
Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity;
[7] you love righteousness and hate wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness above your fellows;
This elohim has an elohim. Christ has a God.
---Isaiah 53:11
"My righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities."
1. Jesus (the Lamb) and his Father have different names.
2. Holy Spirit has no name and is not a person.
Revelation 14:1: Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.
1. Jesus has a God.
2. Jesus worships his God.
Revelation 3:12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.
John 17:3
3"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent
1 Timothy 2:5
5For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
1 Timothy 6:16 states that only God is Immortal and no man has ever seen him or ever can see him. He dwells in unapproachable light. So also does John (1:18; 1Jn. 5:20)
There is more but you can find them yourself.
Once more you disgusting fools mock God's people! God's TRUE Body does not keep this Jesuit filth! You are going to pay for this big time!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, what Jesuit filth are you referring to? Jesus being created? Well the bible indicates He was. And furthermore the TRUE body of believes keep the sabbath and holy days, not the Jesuit filthy Sunday and their nasty pagan holidays - Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Lent,...
