Six-Pack Flurry $7 Million in the Red

Armstrong Delusion has taken the latest Co-Worker letter from Gerald Flurry and dissected it rather well.
It seems old Six Pack is in a snit because members pledged a lot of money to help build the Mini-Me Auditorium in the middle of Oklahoma and now aren't sending in the money.  Their lack of faith has resulted in the PCG owing over $7,000.000 for Six Packs monument to himself.  Six Pack is pissed!

Armstrong Delusion includes this excerpt:

…our building fund donations are $700,000 less than they were last year. I want you to think about that.
Before we built Armstrong Auditorium, we sent a letter to our Church members only, asking for pledges to the building fund. We used those pledges to determine how much we could invest in construction and loan repayment until all the construction costs were repaid in full. We’ve enjoyed using the auditorium for over a year now, but we still have a big balance left on the loan–over $7Million.
Have we kept our pledge to God that we would contribute toward this project until it is paid off?

I won't get into the maniluptaion that Six Pack is pulling on his members.  It's the blame game all over again.  Faithless members who are not relying on God to provide them the money to send it.  It doesn't matter if you have lost your job or have had an income reduction.  You still are required to send it in!  Your salvation is at stake for your unfaithfulness!

I know this is a difficult time financially, and we do have unemployment problems among our members and supporters. But as Mr. Armstrong always said, God blesses us as our ways please Him. The needs of the work have never been greater. And if our ways are pleasing God, no recession or depression could make a bit of difference.

  1. He is saying that members should give until it hurts even if your kids go to bed hungry and are not clothed properly. This is dispicable!!
Just so he can have his monument to Herbert the pervert.

Ah, the doctrine of health & wealth is still alive and well. Yes, it is true that you can always measure how happy God is a person by how much money he has given them. But wouldn't that seem to indicate that this downturn in income must be the result of some recent fault with Flurry? Or does that doctrine not actually apply to everyone equally? And that means that God is a respecter of persons. And this chain of logic could extend on and on showing how these guys contradict themselves at every turn.

COG leaders like Flurry have to violate logic in so many ways in order to keep the money coming in. How these con artist's brains can continue to operate for years and years without shorting out is one of the big puzzles that science has yet to solve.

  4. Well, this is a monument to Herb in two ways: 1) the building itself, and 2) the perpetuation of Herb's model for dealing with such things apparently remains very much alive.

These charlatans continue to preach the times of the end, replete with their mandatory collapse of the world's economic system, yet expect to remain immune to this as they build buildings which are completely unneccessary to accomplish their work. We certainly don't read in the four gospels anything about Jesus' physical, material building program. God is never pleased with abyssimal lack of wisdom or common sense.

  5. Note what Jace said:

People like my grandfather, you remember him right? When he cut you a check that year for $25,000 – nearly cleaning out his savings in the process

Just like every other con man, Flurry fleeces those who can least afford it, then dumps them when they can give no more.

If Satan exists, Flurry is his child.

It should be noted that Robert Thiel mentions Armstrong Delusion in his post over at Church of God News.

This has to be some kind of a first.

I'd be more impressed if Theil hadn't blamed Larry Salyer for bankrupting Global (Roderick Meredith bankrupted Global) in an earlier post.

Such a mixed bag over there.

They don't believe what they preach. Their faith is in those they brainwash and brow-beat. No, that building is a piss poor decision on Flurry's part. I would rather live in a home than on the streets supporting this monument of excess.

When people begin to lose everything, Flurry will lose this monument. Its called survival.

  7. The ultimate problem is that Gerald Flurry was set up by Satan to deceive and defraud former WCG people who were looking for the One True Splinter Group after the apostasy and breakup of the WCG.

Gerald Flurry fooled people into thinking he was holding fast to what HWA had taught while in fact he was editing HWA's writings so he could do something totally different.

Most of the people who went to Gerald Flurry's Philadelphia Church of Fraud have already either left or been kicked out. Unfortunately, before escaping these people were robbed of many millions of dollars. Such a sad and tragic waste of so much good money. Hopefully the curse of God will catch up with Gerald Flurry for diverting so much of God's holy tithe money with his PCG fraud.

A lot of the people who still go to Gerald Flurry's cult do so because they are old perverts and predators with an agenda. As the better people continue to leave or get expelled, these perverts will be left with each other.

That additional $7,000,000.00 for the auditorium, plus millions more for other things, is not Flurry's problem. It will come out of the pockets of Flurry's victims. It will be their problem. Lying false prophets can cost more than just your salvation. They can cost serious amounts of cash right here and now.

Ahhhh, yes, that is the problem for PCG members. Supporting false prophets is NOT pleasing to God.

Jesus said, "Beware of false prophets." He did NOT say, "Support your local false prophet."

Well, then that would just make him a power hungry, money loving preacher. They're not all that uncommon ;-)

Quite frankly Doug, I am simply blown away that Dr. Bob even dared to mention us! I'm sure my fellow editors will be thrilled that we've caught his attention... Ok, not really. ;-)

I'm not really surprised that he failed to post a link to the article. He wouldn't want to make it too easy for his reader base to be exposed to some collateral common sense.

    ReplyDelete
  11. HWA said: "God blesses us as our ways please Him." And Flurry may continue to say: "God blesses us as our ways please Him;" however, God's inspired word says that it is faith that pleases Him:

"So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8:8

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

And if the people, including Flurry himself, lacks faith, then who is to be blamed? Not the people, because faith is a gift from God that only God can give and He gives out that faith by measure:

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the MEASURE of faith.

And for those who don't appreciate God giving out His faith by measure, there is another way to rephrase it:

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the PROPORTION of faith;" Romans 12:6

Is God the slack One? Of course, not! Perhaps in time we will all learn that God had absolutely nothing to do with Flurry's personal project, but...time will tell. Perhaps some of us are getting that point now...

Auspicious timing. I was just thinking of taking this pretentious hack to task on his creationist propaganda (i.e., failure to properly and fairly present the evidence for evolution) he has up at his cogwriter site. Now I think I'll have to do it in earnest.

Well, then, it might be massive chemical imbalances in Gerald's brain that cause him to be so deranged and evil.

You must admit that Gerald Flurry's bad example does provide good circumstantial evidence for the existence of evil spirits.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I must admit this only if you refer to such "spirits" that can be purchased at the average corner liquor store.

  16. And "Evil"? Well, that's rather subjective, wouldn't you say? I think we can safely agree that flurry is an egotistical, opportunist asshole, certainly. But Evil? Pick some random con-man off the street: He's not evil, he's just lowlife scum. Isn't this the same thing only on a larger scale?

Something really grinds my gears about believers and their constant efforts to make everything so much more grandiose by always tossing around terms like "evil".

Until he shoots bolts of lightning from his hands and starts calling me "my young apprentice" I'm not calling anyone evil! ;-)

You obviously do not know what is going on. Try going to the PCG for a while and see if you still think that way.

Trying to act "nice" by refusing to call evil what it is will not help anyone. People who are serious about religion need to know the facts and the truth. Idle chatter from mere talkers will not benefit them.

Listen asshole, I grew up in PCG. I spent a decade in that group. I watched it grow from a hundred or so people to around 5,000 when I left. I am eminently more qualified to talk about it than you are, so don't sit here and tell me I don't know whats going on.

"Trying to act "nice" by refusing to call evil what it is will not help anyone."

You just don't get it. I am not "acting nice" - I'm not a nice guy and I make no claims to that effect. I'm can be an arrogant, foul-mouthed prick, anyone who knows me can vouch for that. To my friends, family, and those people who don't annoy me out of my skull (read: anonymous theist trolls) I'm the nicest guy you'll ever meet.

I wasn't refusing to call them "evil" because I want to be nice, I am simply giving you believers shit for always speaking emphatically about a human construct that means different things to different people, and almost always in the context that it is part of some grand universal conspiracy of "Good VS Evil", "Satan VS God" "Light VS Dark", blah blah blah.

Before you compare me to Neville Chamberlain, consider that I've probably taken more of a stand against these cults in the past 2 years than you ever will in your entire life. Lecture me about how bad they are? That's f*cking hilarious.

You Atheist Trolls need to start proofreading before you hit "Publish Comment".

Typically, when people like yourself are reluctant to call evil what it is, it is because they themselves are evil. Their thinking is that as long as they don't judge other people for their evil behavior, nobody will judge them for their own evil behavior.

Gerald Flurry is a lying false prophet who is out to destroy people. That is similar to lying atheists like yourself who are also out to destroy people.

Merely warming a seat in PCG as a kid because your parents dragged you there until you could escape does not mean that you know anything.

  22. Anonymous 9:10, you need to change your line of thinking. Atheism is a very excellent way of purging one of all of the Armstrongist deceptions, ridiculous theories, and, frankly, non Christian attitudes and behavior patterns.
It's about the only way you can neutralize all of the toxicity, or as for some such as myself, God's way of pushing the reset button.

You really need to look at who or what caused the atheism. That would be the lying, self-aggrandizing false prophets and teachers. If you want to be part of the solution, you'll be praying for the people who have been hurt and damaged by Armstrongism. That's a novel approach that most people who stumble across these recovery sites would never think to take.

  23. Byker Bob,

One of the serious problems with evil, lying, false prophets like Gerald Flurry is that they like to do all their own evil in God's name. They continually rant and rave away about how they are God's representative on planet Earth today teaching and doing things God's way.

When people eventually leave (or get kicked out) they will have had it drummed into their heads that by leaving they are rejecting God (or that by getting kicked out they have been rejected by God).

Gerald Flurry and the false ministers he set up are Satan's impostors. They do NOT represent what God taught and they do NOT even correctly represent what HWA taught either.

The PCG is a perversion designed to deceive and destroy people. Some will come away from the experience as atheists, having being told lies in God's name and having had much evil done to them in God's name by Satan's impostors.

  26. I'll start out by responding to the one and only believer in this discussion who actually appears to possess the least modicum of intelligence:

Biker Bob... Sigh... I'm pretty sure we've covered this ground before. Ad nauseum. At the rate you keep popping back up to bang on this drum of yours, I'm actually starting to wonder if you're doing it more for your own benefit (on a subconscious level) than for any other reason. You're not selling me on this theory of yours, that's for sure. Here we go again:

"Atheism is a very excellent way of purging one of all of the Armstrongist deceptions, ridiculous theories, and, frankly, non Christian attitudes and behavior patterns"

You're not going to believe this but I agree with you Bob! However, I think I could modify your statement to make it even more accurate!

    ReplyDelete
  27. My version: Atheism is a very excellent way of purging one of all of the religious deceptions, ridiculous theories, and, frankly, bronze age attitudes and behavior patterns

Oh yes, that hits the nail on the head perfectly. Thanks for the great quote Bob! Next:

"It's about the only way you can neutralize all of the toxicity, or as for some such as myself, God's way of pushing the reset button."

And which god would that be, Bobbie? Do you mean Thor? Zeus? Apollo? Krishna? Ra? Allah? Isis? Buddha? Venus? Athena? Hades? Mami Wata? Osiris? Ataguchu? Hina? Or how about Quetzalcoatl?

Oh wait a second, that's right. There's only the one: Yahweh. Because, let's be honest, in your mind there are only two religions that exist in this world: Christianity and Armstrongism. Of course, one of these is wrong, so the other must be right! Whew, that was easy!

"You really need to look at who or what caused the atheism. That would be the lying, self-aggrandizing false prophets and teachers."

Wrong again, Bobbie. The lying, self-aggrandizing, false prophets caused me and others like me, to say: "Wow, I wonder if my religion is wrong? Things don't seem to be adding up here, Perhaps I should go back to the drawing board?" That's called objectivity. Start from scratch and see where that leads you. If you're telling me that you started from scratch, and that led you right back to the very same religion you were born into and raised with, with the same god, the same holy book and the same belief system, I have a very hard time believing that you ever took a truly objective look at things to begin with.

"If you want to be part of the solution, you'll be praying for the people who have been hurt and damaged by Armstrongism."

Right on! While you're at it, why don't you pray me up a cup of coffee and one of those chocolate donuts with sprinkles on top. And no chicanery using Fed-ex or USPS, I expect that sh*t to appear on my desk, right out of thin air. Don't keep me waiting, typing responses takes energy, and the next response I have to type, to this Anonymous moron, is going to take quite a bit of that.

Thanks for having the balls to use your name Bob!

  28. Anonymous: I have only ever encountered one other person as amusingly idiotic as yourself on this website. Maybe you're the same person!

You really must love the flavor of your foot because you just kept inserting it into your mouth these past few posts. Quite frankly, I hardly know where to begin!

    Foot-in-mouth moment #1:

"Try going to the PCG for a while and see if you still think that way"

Ooops, that was your first assumption gone awry. The first of many! (Helpful tip: research your opponent before making a mistake that could easily have been avoided.) A quick glance at my website (which you've now seen, congratz!) and you would've seen I had plenty of experience with PCG.

Foot-in-mouth moment #2: (quite possibly your best yet!)

"Merely warming a seat in PCG as a kid because your parents dragged you there until you could escape does not mean that you know anything"

Honestly Anon, this is fantastic! First of all, let's pretend that your ridiculous assertion is correct: Let's pretend that I just sat there like a bump on a log during church, only there because my parents "dragged me", (The implication being that I never really wanted to be there) and that I "escaped" (presumably) when I reached adulthood.

What we can take from this statement, is that you are actually insane/stupid enough to believe that an impressionable child could sit in PCG for ten years and never once soak up anything about the church. Furthermore, you indirectly imply that no harm could be had by a child - sitting in a doomsday cult - for a decade. (I mean, obviously, because I don't "know anything" about the horrors of PCG, so things must have been just peachy!)

The icing on the idiot cake, is that you are in fact wrong. More wrong than you can possibly know. (Get used to that.) Among many, many other things, you know nothing about the nature of the departure of my family from PCG. Secondly, (I hope you can keep up with my math) I did not leave Armstrongism until 2010. My last year in PCG was 2001, which means I spent 9 more years in Armstrongism (age 18-27), of my own accord. Nobody "dragged" me anywhere, (though I wish I could say they did).

    Foot-in-mouth moment #3:

"Typically, when people like yourself are reluctant to call evil what it is, it is because they themselves are evil. Their thinking is that as long as they don't judge other people for their evil behavior, nobody will judge them for their own evil behavior."

Anonymous, this is golden! First of all, can you cite a source? Perhaps quote a study or something done on the sinful habits of people who debate the usage of the term "evil"

No? Then perhaps you did your own study! Maybe had numerous conversations with people who all argued against the use of the term "evil", (it must be a very common topic of conversation for you!) and following these conversations, you then did a bit of snooping - maybe hired a private investigator - and eventually discovered that they were all very, very naughty people. Once you had the statistics worked out, you could (and just did!) say with confidence that the "typical" evil person is "reluctant to call evil what it is". That is fantastic! You really should have that study published!

Only, just one flaw in your logic... If I for instance, am evil, and I know that I am evil, and continue to be evil, doesn't that mean that I don't have a problem with it? (Now try to keep up!) Thus, if I don't have a problem with my evil...ness, why would I care about how people use that term? Oh, that's right. I wouldn't! Nice try with the ad hominem, prick!

  29. Foot-in-mouth moment #4

"Gerald Flurry... is out to destroy people."

I know this is going to sound like I'm defending Flurry here, and I'm equally sure you'll start hurling more baseless assumptions to that effect, but... Show me the proof! Again, isn't it more probably that he is just a power-hungry guy with delusions of grandeur and a $7,000,000 debt to pay off? You don't actually believe that he literally wants to "destroy" people, do you? Do you think he wakes up in the morning, has his coffee, looks himself in the mirror and says: "How many people can I destroy today? Muahahahahahaha!" Let me guess... You also think 9/11 was an inside job and the moon landing was faked?

    Foot-in-mouth moment #5

"That is similar to lying atheists like yourself who are also out to destroy people."

Yes. We atheists are out to destroy people. When you were growing up, did you eat paint chips or something? Again, show me some proof or shut the fuck up. (hint: I prefer the latter)

Lastly, to be fair, you were right about one thing. I'm shocked! And your one shining moment of victory:

"You Atheist Trolls need to start proofreading before you hit "Publish Comment". "

I haven't read your website. What does it say? Can you summarize it here briefly? May I suggest that you proofread it before you upload it?

Your entire personal religious experience appears to have been a combination of evil things from idolatrous Flurry worship to godless atheism. At least it has been consistent throughout. The same evil spirit has been behind it all. No wonder you are so full of such bitterness, vitriol, venom, bad language, bad manners, and bad spelling.

That is the problem. Ten years of Flurry, and more years of your own religious bumblings, and you have become a gross mess--a complete wreck of inhumanity. This is the tragic fate of so many who were fooled by Flurry.

Now admit it: Flurry is evil. Evolution is evil. And you are evil (and kind of burned out).

I just want to spare others from your sad fate.

  32. I love the fact that you are utterly incapable of addressing anything I have said. You do nothing but hurl personal attacks, as befitting the armstrongite you seem to be.

On that note, I love working on Saturdays. I love eating pork. I love not keeping the "holy days" and most importantly, I love not having to live in fear.

Say all you want, the past year has been the best and most fulfilling year of my life. That tells me all I need to know.

You go right on believing in evil spirits and I'll go right on enjoying the 21st century.

    Sincerely, Fuck right off.

  33. "and more years of your own religious bumblings,"

I call projection. Let's hear your defense of Christianity, anonymous. Make sure it contains facts and valid logic. Can't do it? That's okay: neither can anyone else.

You have a lot of bad things to say about people who don't believe in your imaginary friend, but you offer no support whatsoever for your delusions, and even your personal attacks prove to be disingenuous and patently false. In my book, that makes you a common douchebag without a shred of integrity, intellectual or otherwise.

There is a way to have respectful discourse with atheists: starting out by insinuating that they are ignorant is not it. More often than not, it is the atheist, and not the believer, who is the more knowledgeable, reasonable, and ethical party. And I'm not just saying that because I'm an atheist. It has been my long experience watching the "debate" tactics believers exhibit. Protip: approach the discussion as though you don't know what you merely believe, and show some respect for people who have obviously put more effort into examining the evidence than you have.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Seriously, anonymous: go back and re-read your final comment. It is nothing but a series of baseless conjecture on Jace's personal history. Is that how you argue against atheism? Mere ad hominem? Anyone with any intellectual integrity whatsoever would be embarrassed to have to own up to your comments.

And you, Bob. How often are you going to trot out this divisive and bigoted ad hominem canard? How long are you going to ignore the facts and continue to hold to this oft-refuted nonsense about atheism deriving from a bad experience with Armstrongism?

I had a lovely experience with Armstrongism. Thankfully, though, I don't have to cling to delusions just because I consider them elegant (like you do). My atheism, like that of most atheists, is a philosophical atheism, not an emotional one. It does not fall out naturally and stupidly from a bad experience (like yours did); it comes from deep and serious consideration of the various arguments germane to the topic of general theism. It has nothing to do with Armstrong or Flurry.

You, coward, need to stop perseverating on this bigoted bullshit if you cannot defend it with rational arguments (idiotic conjectures derived from your own uninformed opinions about others' personal histories do not count as arguments). But, being that you are a coward, I doubt you have what it takes to take the high road.

Then, God might be unhappy with you for your bad behavior, and Satan and his demons will continue to laugh at you. I can almost hear them laughing at you now. (Not quite, though, so don't worry just yet that I am hearing voices.)

I have merely tried to post an honest warning to people about a lying false prophet by the name of Gerald Flurry and his PCG cult. I know firsthand about what has gone on there and IT IS EVIL. And that is not a subjective thing, but a very real thing. Something about this enraged you.

Flurry FALSELY claims to be God's prophet and Flurry FALSELY claims to be HWA's successor. Satan is using Flurry to try to destroy people, whether Flurry himself realizes it or not.

  39. "You might not like what I am going to say here (Just a guess.)"

Well, I do like the fact that you've finally responded to a tiny bit of what I said.

"You are relatively young and inexperienced yet (Yes, another assumption. Get used to it. Correct it if you wish.)"

I'm 29, I think I'm past the point of having to put up with the "young buck" routine.

"Your obvious anger makes me seriously doubt that the past year was really all that great for you."

Yep, I have a tendency to get a little enraged when some pissant troll assumes it knows more about my life than I do. Righteous indignation says I.

"It is all too common (I don't have the exact statistics on exactly how common) for people to pretend that everything is so wonderful now that they have rejected God."

Well, of course you don't have the statistics. How can you determine if someone is "pretending things are wonderful"? Do you read their thoughts? Happiness (like evil) is subjective. Are you telling me you can look at another's life from your slanted little outside viewpoint and say how happy they are? Get real.

It's really none of your business either way, but I'll humor you: My happiness? Real deal. The job (promotion) I have now is a direct result of walking into my boss's office and telling her I no longer needed Saturdays off. Next, not having to pay 1st and 2nd tithes boosted my net income to the point where I was able to buy a pretty nice house. I am 29, single ("I got 99 problems..."), with a stable job, almost no debt and I just bought my first house. I'm feeling more free than I ever have, I'm no longer having to sugar-coat my crazy beliefs when people ask about them. I no longer have to constantly worry about the "end of days" or the "great tribulation" or "falling away". I could go on, but I'm sure it's all just going in one ear and out the other.

"Understand that in the near future you could end up in a bad way (even worse than you are now)."

Uh yeah, that's called life. Shit happens, good and bad. I just attribute that to... Life. It's people like you who assign greater meaning to these events.

"God might be unhappy with you for your bad behavior, and Satan and his demons will continue to laugh at you."

Again, which god? Yahweh? I'm not worried. The tooth fairy and Icarus are watchin' my back. I'll be fine.

"I can almost hear them laughing at you now. (Not quite, though, so don't worry just yet that I am hearing voices.)"

Voices or no, I'd still recommend seeking professional help. You worship a book, a fictional god of death, you believe in evil spirits and you seem to think you can read minds. Nicht gut!

"I know firsthand about what has gone on there and IT IS EVIL. And that is not a subjective thing, but a very real thing. Something about this enraged you."

Liar. Go back and re-read. You raised my ire not by arguing the use of the term "evil". You pissed me off when (1) you ignorantly told me I knew nothing (2) tried to lecture me on how bad these cults are. (3) implied that I was an "evil" person because I disagreed with you on something and (4) tried to negate a decade of indoctrination based on your careless assumption. Your being an ignorant tool, is what enraged me. Nothing more.

"Flurry FALSELY claims to be God's prophet and Flurry FALSELY claims to be HWA's successor."

You are obviously an Armstrongist. What are you doing on an apostate website? Does your minister know? Either way, you are a stranger in a strange land. Either adapt to your new surroundings or scamper back to the flock.

    Sincerely, Fuck off again.

LOL! Prove it. Oh, you cant? So sad for you. Keep believing your delusions, sheep.

By the way, if you think Flurry is so evil, why don't you do something about it, instead of just sitting on your fat, lazy ass saying stupid shit? Or do you let your imaginary friend do all your work for you? Buy a gun and strike down the evil one.

If you really believed this shit, you'd go that far--but you don't. You're just a talker talking bullshit, a coward who dodges every argument that comes his way, and a hypocrite who doesn't realize he's presuming to insult folks who have already done more against the "evil false prophet" Flurry than you will ever do (unless you somehow grow a spine and develop the courage of your convictions enough to act on them).

So...start using that mouth for something you're already good at--suck it.
