The Plain Truth About Bacon
shamelessly swiped from the Facebook page:
Worldwide Church of God I can't Wait For Sundown and Other WCG Musings
Don't worry about the bacon! It has been shown that most life form breathe about the same number of times over their life span. A mouse that lives three years will breathe about the same number of times as a dog that lives 15. A human breathes about the same number of times as a mouse over 70 years and an Elephant about the same number of times over 120.
The lesson is not to not eat bacon. The lesson is to not exercise as you are using up your breaths too fast.
I've heard it said that wrapping something in bacon is a culinary apology. It's like saying, sorry, whatever is inside tastes like ass, and we had to wrap bacon around it to make up for that.
What's the tastiest food in the world? Bacon wrapped in bacon.
Always loved bacon. Also, salt pork. We had at least one barrel of it every year. My mother would leach much of the salt out and crisp fry it. Delicious. Especially in the summer when salt was an important part of one's diet due to copious Midwest sweating.
Bacon used to be better than what you can get today. Most of it is sprayed with smoke flavoring. I remember the good, naturally smoked variety from the upper Midwest.
