And now a word from our
sponsors.....
And now ladies and gentlemen, a short interlude from
Weinerdude. A short break from the blurry of flurry, the smack of
Pack, the crimes of names that don't rhyme and a soothing balm from the
Malm.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled
myths and fairytales sponsored by your local COG "let's make it up as we go,"

Ah, 60s music!
ReplyDeleteThe calm before the storm of the great tribulation with the Germans attacking America in 1972!
Those were the days my friend, we thought they's never end (oops lyrics to another 60s song).

I absolutely did not inpire this. I was busy during the 6o's helping Dwight Armstrong write the COG hymnal . Loved it when he fell for 'Praise ye the Lordo," and "climbing through the windows leap." It was easier for some reason to keep Jesus out of the tunes than I thought it would be.
These are the four songs that God inspired and I was not allowed any input.

Well, Mr. Anonymous @ 6:52 AM
ReplyDeleteIf this site is so "Satan" inspired, then why are you checking in? Are you looking for some "inspiration"?
Frankly, if one actually listens to and considers John's "Imagine" lyrics, one can come closer to understanding the meaning of our existence, rather than accepting the ramblings of any of man's religions. All of the COGs included.
Satan! Could It Be?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's Satan - strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. He's the first comic-book super-villain, the quintessential boogeyman, and the ultimate terrorist. Just like magic. He could be anywhere! He could be everywhere! Speak of him, *poof* he appears! Look for him in every angel of light, in all your darkest nightmares, and in anything that could possibly be construed as fun. When you least expect him, expect him. One size fits all. Perfect for every occasion.
Gotta love it!
Who is Satan?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the "Liars for Jesus" preachers on Christian TV like Daystar, Trinity Broadcasting Network, Jesus Christ Television, and GOD TV, here is the definition of Satan-
"He's the one influencing your thoughts if you don't want to send money to us!"
Love, Jesus
PS: You'd better send in money and do what I say, OR ELSE these things may happen to you!
I'm so glad that Mitt Romney believes the TRUTH that Jesus resides on the planet KOLOB.
ReplyDeleteWe need a President like that!
-Romney for KOLOBIAN president!
Don't ask.
Don't think.
Just vote as you are told!
I just love that Petra redid the old rock classic "God Gave Rock n Roll to You" What an incredible ministry those guys have had for so many years! They really faced an uphill battle, too, because there were a lot of mainstream Evangelicals who tried to tell them they were using the devil's music. But, they were able to reach people that nobody else could, and today they are very well respected, and much imitated. If anyone hasn't caught "Classic Petra" on TBN, yet I'd highly recommend it as being totally awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe groups featured in this blogpost are mostly very commercial pop. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but my own tastes from that era ran towards the harder stuff, like Mountain's "Missippi Queen", the Allman Brothers' "Tied to the Whipping Post" (which reminded me of the bondage of WCG!), and Led Zep's "Communication Breakdown".
Poor old John Lennon really got a lambasting by HWA following his untimely death. I think the Herbster was jealous of Lennon's considerably larger audience, and possibly intimidated by his superior inteligence. I mean, I was always more of a McCartney fan, but Lennon really wrote some deep and thoughtful lyrics.
