Idiots In the Pulpit: Robert Tilton "We've Seen Midgets Grow"
Tilton is one of the classic examples of the mystery of religion's hold over the minds of so many. Not only is he a shockingly obvious fraud, he's been revealed as one in carefully documented news reports -- much like, say, Peter Popoff. Yet, he still attracts followers. Simply amazing.
Isn't Robert Tilton the televangelist that demanded $1,000 offerings from his television viewers? He said God wanted to see sacrifice, and a $1,000 offering was a sacrifice.
Yeah, right! As if this fraud knows exactly what God wants. But, I am sure there are enough "dumb sheep" who would do it, and I am sure it provides him with a substantial living. Why work for a living when you can fool enough people into sending you $1,000 offerings - all in God's name of course.
Oh, I am sure he works pretty hard keeping his operation going. That does not mean he earns any of the money he collects. Stupid people send it to him for reasons that are hard to explain. "Simply amazing."
This guy is an obvious fraud, just as HWA was an obvious fraud. I'd suggest that all readers Google Robert Tilton, and check out the Wikipedia article on him. Judging by the final paragraph, entitled "Satire", Tilton has been widely ridiculed, in addition to having been exposed by the media as a fraud.
Predictably, the egregious behavior of this type of charlatan gives those who no longer believe a reason to deny the real deal, just as did HWA for the cruel and intrusive ministry which was inflicted upon all of us. Jesus Christ is about healing, not about ripping people off and causing pain.
"I don't make this stuff up!"
ReplyDeleteOf course not. LOL
These are my favorite Robert Tilton videos:

those are my favourites too!
ReplyDeleteI know many people who were born very short. The more they went to church, the taller they got. Don't make fun of what you don't understand.
ReplyDelete:)

ReplyDeleteMidgets are growing tall, limbs are growing long, people are being raised from the dead, etc....
ReplyDeleteIT MUST BE TRUE BECAUSE A SINCERE PERSON AT MY MEGACHURCH TOLD ME IT'S TRUE!
I cannot give details or proof because that would just cause ridicule (which my pussy-god can't handle).

ReplyDeleteI don't make this stuff up." says the Tilton.
It must be true, its on the Internet.
"This guy is an obvious fraud, just as HWA was an obvious fraud."
ReplyDeleteUm... is that because you also have never seen "divine healing" in action?
Because. It. Doesn't. Happen.
But this liar for jesus is a charlatan.
Sigh.
Well, there are liars for Jesus, and then there are lying charlatans that make anything pertaining to Jesus seem evil and fake.
ReplyDeleteTilton falls into the latter category, but both type of liar do incredible damage.
