Bob Thiel: I Am Ready To Be One of the Two Witnesses

I find it fascinating to watch the mental deterioration of Bob Thiel.  I am sure he is a pleasant person to be around and is greatly loved by his family so I have to wonder how they are handling this new found prophet status and end time witnesses malarkey that he is engaged in.

Bob writes today on his blog:

It needs to be understood that while I will accept the type of prophetic role that God anointed me to have (see also How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God), and it is possible that I may end up being one of the two witnesses (see Who Are The Two Witnesses? ), I have never stated that I was one of the two witnesses. If that is God's plan for me, that will be clear around the start of the Great Tribulation--which is probably at least four years away (see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

  1. Yikes.....we are witnessing not one of the Two Witnesses but an emotional and mental meltdown. This self absorption that was fairly evident has erupted . Bob, get some help before you melt down.

You're NOT one of the Two Witnesses of Revelation. The book was not written for us nor is it about you. Medication not congregation remember??????

This is a really stunning ramp up to me of Bob's view of himself. This is growing and playing out as a sad drama .

  2. The timing is suspicious. Ron Weinland, one of the real Two Witnesses goes to prison on the 2nd. Bob erupts with a new mission similar to what RW thought was his. Did some spirit say, "screw this prison stuff. I need a new host.? Well, well, well...who do we have here?"

  3. Bob Thiel again exalts SELF by writing: "...It needs to be understood that while I will accept the type of prophetic role that God anointed me to have (see also How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God), and it is possible that I may end up being one of the two witnesses (see Who Are The Two Witnesses? ), I have never stated that I was one of the two witnesses. Some think Bob Thiel reads what is on this site. Well, Bob Thiel, what do you know about any Great Tribulation, which has been sought by many false prophets like yourSELF for decades now, if not longer!

Isn't Satan god of this present evil world? Doesn't this world worship Satan while thinking he is God ... all as part of Satan's deception of the world?

It appears that mankind has been under great tribulation since the day Satan infested/infected the minds of both Adam and Eve! Just look at the fruits/works of this world...the evil(s) that are so prevalent.

Wouldn't you think that God already knows this world lies in wickedness and great tribulation? Do you want God to make it all greater than it is?

Bob, we don't need to wait 4 years. You are not, nor do you qualify to be one of the true witnesses. If you had the eyes to see the junk food you believe in you'd agree, but only God can give those eyes to see:

"Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day." Deut 29:4

Bob T, in your blindness, especially with seeing so much of SELF, you will continue to lead the blind in the ditch you are in, but time will tell...

    John

  5. “Revelations: Visions, Prophecy, and Politics in the Book of Revelation” (Viking) Elaine Pagels

"....Pagels then shows that Revelation, far from being meant as a hallucinatory prophecy, is actually a coded account of events that were happening at the time John was writing. It’s essentially a political cartoon about the crisis in the Jesus movement in the late first century, with Jerusalem fallen and the Temple destroyed and the Saviour, despite his promises, still not back. All the imagery of the rapt and the raptured and the rest that the “Left Behind” books have made a staple for fundamentalist Christians represents contemporary people and events, and was well understood in those terms by the original audience. Revelation is really like one of those old-fashioned editorial drawings where Labor is a pair of overalls and a hammer, and Capital a bag of money in a tuxedo and top hat, and Economic Justice a woman in flowing robes, with a worried look."

How different a message the COGs would have to adopt should they ever learn the Book of Revelation is not what they think, about whom they think or about which they think.

  6. As usual, our resident fundamentalist wingnut - John - opinions with great clarity and searing intellect in his above response. John, you have FAR more in common with Prophet Bob than you realize.

  7. It is fitting that all this happen.

It should make it marginally easier for people to realize they have suffer loss in the Armstrongist churches of God and leave.

That what it takes: People realizing that they have suffered a significant personal loss to trigger an analysis to leads to personal redemption that stops the flow of money to charlatans, whether they realize what kooks they are or not.

  8. I agree with Dennis and Douglas about the mental meltdowns. But this is pretty standard fare in the COG's. They thrive on such soap-opera drama, for it provides many with the "indisputable evidence" that they truly are the one and only true Church of God. What percentage of current members will actually question the whole thing as a result of Thiel's nuttiness? Probably very few, if any. The majority will just see all this as confirming evidence of Satan's persecution, with Rod Meredith leading the charge in that belief.

Interesting theory, and you seem to have absolutely, conclusively, scientifically proven it beyond the shred of a reasonable doubt too.

    I agree with you Dennis.
But I wonder what really triggered this behavior. Was it being disfellowshipped? I have seen people go off the deep end when they believe they are lost to salvation after the dissing.

It is the most powerful tool of revenge the cog's have. It destroys.

  12. The mental meltdown is among Bob's critics who twist what he said. He was probably just responding to speculation by others that he was one of the witnesses.
