Doesn't the Christian love just ooze out of these people!
Well I guess that it is that time once again this year for the politicians to cause the entire country, on this Sunday, to mess up the clocks in order for them to get back to "play time" with their toys on the golf courses!!It must be nice for them to dictate to their employer, "us", as to how much we must pay their wages as they choose for themselves, and not only that but how we have to pay for their private jets to jet them down to the warmer states to play with their toys on the golf courses! Wouldn`t it be nice if we could all dictate to our employers as to much much we could demand to for our wages?!!In talking with a local dairy farmer, he was telling me how difficult it is for milking time for those cows in the morning! Doesn`t those dumb animals know that this will be golf playing time for a later sunset in the evening rather than keeping with a milking time?!! Perhaps the day will soon come when when these "play" boys will have to eat those golf balls for their food!!I have the feeling that Christ will change this mess up, along with cleaning up the rest of the messes that Satan has caused for this world!!-----It can`t come soon enough!!!
Fine. Don't set your clocks to accommodate Daylight Savings time. Be out of step with the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteYou are anyway.
Also out of step with science, reason and history in some sort of weird alternative Universe where lies are the ultimate truth.

ReplyDeleteMY COMMENT: You mean, kinda like the way the three-"tithe" system works?

MY COMMENT: So, COG cows have to keep daylight savings time too?
"I have the feeling that Christ will change this mess up, along with cleaning up the rest of the messes that Satan has caused for this world!!-----It can`t come soon enough!!!"
If it came too soon, you wouldn't have a cult to go to on Saturn day. I thin k Jesus, oops! I mean "CHRIST" will clean up THAT mess also.
well the Sabbath is not on Saturday (Saturn day)....the Sabbath is the 7th day of the week, which falls partly on Friday and partly on Saturday of the Roman calendar....
ReplyDeleteit would be more accurate to say that Friday and Saturday infringe on the Sabbath, since the Sabbath was there first.

Yeah, I can hardly wait for Jesus to return and fix all this mess. Switching from standard time to daylight savings time is so hard...we shouldn't have to do that. It is so horrible to leave the job and have an hour longer to wait for sundown...a ghastly imposition upon the workers, just ghastly.
ReplyDeleteBut, fear ye not, Jesus will return and impose the Jewish 360 day year, sabbaths, holy days and blood sacrifices on everybody. Yesiree, Jesus will return and straighten out this whole mess of an extra hour of play time for politicians and hourly wage earners - whew, I can hardly wait.
The amazing aspect to all of this is that people choose to believe what they believe in.
ReplyDeleteWhat you tend to dwell upon, or what drives you ends up being a kind of a thermometer.

Is this anti-daylight saving time rant a COG thing? My late mother internalized all assertions she heard from the COG pulpit and then later represented them as her own opinions. When Indiana went to daylight savings time about 8 years ago she wouldn't stop complaining and she made this same politians/golf argument It must have come from a COG sermon or literature I just don't think she would have objected with so much passion otherwise. My mother was totally infected by the COG virus.
ReplyDeleteSpring forward, my ass.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't they at least spread it over a month -- 15 minutes a week? Or give us a little grace period like a three-day weekend to adjust?
The sabbath is Old Covenant. No longer necessary.

I can see that you aren't one to let facts get in the way....... ;-)
I'd recommend a different kind of ball for the eating pleasure of both the politicians and the ACOG ministers.
ReplyDeleteSteve Kisack,
ReplyDeleteYou've now left the same comment on two posts. The Sabbath was instituted BEFORE the covenants came into place. This is what the Church always taught.
This also happens to be what some of the commenters here (myself included) and I am certain a large number of the lurking readers, believes.
I don't have a problem with you believing that keeping Sundays is OK because the Catholic church changed it...but you should realize that not all Sabbath-keeping Christians are in the same category of people that the creator of this blog likes to mock and ridicule.
I should probably add that the people mocked and ridiculed by this blog, richly deserve to be.
ReplyDeleteguess some folks aren't aware that God set the 7th day apart for holy use immediately after creating it.....so yes, Adam & Eve were Sabbath keepers. (well, it's a safe bet that they kept one Sabbath anyway....don't know exactly how long there were in the Garden before sinning and being expelled)
ReplyDeleteI am not aware of that. I am aware of a popular myth to that effect, however.

MY COMMENT: What "church"? Sorry, but the sabbath command was not reinstituted with Israel. It was instituted for the first time in Ex. 16 to Israel. Adam and Eve didn't keep the physical sabbath day and no command to do so. God Himself didn't work six days again after He rested and then keep another rest day. Adam and Eve were in a perpetual rest. Israel's ancestors did not keep the sabbath. If you think they did, then prove it. Suerly someone would have broken the "sabbath" somewhere between Adam and Israel, but no mention of it.
This also happens to be what some of the commenters here (myself included) and I am certain a large number of the lurking readers, believes.
MY COMMENT: So, that makes it right?
I don't have a problem with you believing that keeping Sundays is OK because the Catholic church changed it...
MY COMMENT: Another assumption on your part.
but you should realize that not all Sabbath-keeping Christians are in the same category of people that the creator of this blog likes to mock and ridicule.
MY COMMENT: You should realize that all sabbath "keepers" are no different than sunday-keepers. They both esteem days, seasons, months, and years.
We see Noah in observance and recognition of "Clean and Unclean" animals before the Sinai covenant.
ReplyDeleteGenesis 26:5
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Abraham is keeping the Law of God again before Sinai.
The context of the writer of Genesis 26:5 is of one who is writing POST- Sinai. Therefore he is referring OBVIOUSLY to the Ten Commandments, which includes the Sabbath Commandment.
Please people, argue better. This is all obviously self evident that the law of God was acknowledged and practiced by the righteous before Sinai.

So Abraham kept the big 10? What about lying, killing, and committing adultery? Oh, I guess those didn't count, or he was justified, right? But he kept the sabbath! Give me a break! If the sabbath command was in force, and so all important, someone somewhere would have broken it and there would have been a record of it, but not a word. You sabbatarians beat all!
ReplyDeleteWe know that the Old Testament manuscripts were collected, edited, and reedited at several points in history. One theory is that during Babylonian captivity, they were "back" edited, meaning that the concepts of the sabbath, clean and unclean meats, and tithing may have been superimposed over events which predate the law of Moses.
