Non-Ordained Thiel Calls Meredith A Liar

Things are still testy between Rod Meredith and the non-ordained self-appointed prophet Thiel.  The non-ordained self appointed prophet is still filled with anger and resentment towards Meredith.

Meredith posted on LCG's web site recently this:

And we certainly do not encourage “yes men” in any way...

Brethren, I have never tried to “appoint myself” as an apostle or to any other high office. But many of you realize that even throughout the extended Church of God fellowships around the world—there is no one who has had the depth of experience I have had as one who has spoken the word of God to you. In spite of my human weaknesses, Christ has used me to teach more Bible classes than any other human being in this age. I am the only one who has been Deputy Chancellor of all three colleges, and was Second Vice President of the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College for many years. I have written literally hundreds of articles and conducted hundreds of evangelistic campaigns all over the world.

Prompting the non-ordained self-appointed prophet to claim that Rod is lying:

That first statement is simply not true and I repeatedly tried to tell Dr. Meredith that in the past. I should also comment that Dr. Meredith did tell me a few years ago (January 2009) that he was somewhat thinking of taking on the apostle title and that if he did that perhaps he would appoint me, Bob Thiel, as a prophet. So the above, presuming he actually wrote all it himself, is strange.
Once again we get to see how ticked off the non-ordained self-appointed prophet is.  Meredith had supposedly promised him the title of prophet and Meredith reneged on it.

The non-ordained self-appointed prophet is also not impressed with Meredith claiming that he has written countless articles.  The non-ordained prophet says he has written over 4,000 articles.  A number higher than Rod's.

While Dr. Meredith certainly did do evangelical campaigns and taught Bible classes, I would suggest that writing "hundreds of articles" is not that unique of an accomplishment. I have written well over 4,000 articles/newsposts at COGwriter since changing to the WordPress format in June 2007. There were at least hundreds of articles and newsposts prior to then that I personally wrote. Perhaps I should mention that I have had affiliation with the Church of God for forty years myself and am not without a depth of experience myself.

The non-ordained self appointed prophet gets in another dig at Meredith claiming he and LCG are not the one to carry out the final phase of the work.  That person is none other than the non-ordained self appointed prophet.

Anyway, while Dr. Meredith apparently hopes people will believe that God will use him and LCG to finish what I have called "the final phase of the work," it would require repentance and significant change in LCG for that to be possible. Even one Charlotte-based LCG minister told me recently that he believed such change could not happen without a least one major death in LCG's top leadership. And I believe it would take more than that as I have found insufficient "love of the truth" there, and unnecessary hesitation which often prevents bolder proclamation of the truth by the media outlets LCG uses.
For some asinine reason the non-ordained self -appointed prophet feels that the disillusion legions of COG members will be soon flocking to his door step.

We in the Continuing Church of God are boldly going forward with the work. We are leading the final phase of the work. Hopefully, more who were once part of various COGs, as well as those who are newer seekers of the truth, will be like the Bereans and search to see that these things are so (Acts 17:10-12).

You are not ordained Bud, so why do you expect the COG to flock to you?  For a church that places high importance on church governance, having a non-ordained self-appointed person in charge is a deal breaker.

  1. Wait wait. Has there EVER been an appointed prophet in the COGs? Even if Spanky actually did tell him that, which I doubt, that would go way beyond the usual paradigm. And why Thiel didn't bring this up earlier (this talk of trading apostle for prophet) seems suspect.

  2. Rod Meredith said: "Brethren, I have never tried to “appoint myself” as an apostle or to any other high office."

Wrong. In the very first member letter Meredith sent out after starting Global, he declared himself "Pastor General".

  3. Does it matter if someone is "ordained" or "appointed"? If they're a con artist with bullshit pouring from every orifice, then that settles the matter.

  5. I really pity Bob Thiel. He is such a delusional character. He still thinks he know what real salvation is better than anyone else, yet he follows the old covenant and not the new. Talk about schizophrenia.

Well if that's the case then in the spirit of the antichrist let's: "bunga bunga"!!

  7. It is funny but also kind of sad.

My feeling is that Bob is telling the truth as he sees it (not that I would follow either of them). I also think he is standing up for his principles, and Meredith and the LCG are compromising. But I think, like most people, Bob has a tendency to believe what he wants to believe.

  8. The Rod of God said, "Christ has used me to teach more Bible classes than any other human being in this age. I am the only one who has been Deputy Chancellor of all three colleges, and was Second Vice President of the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College for many years."

MY COMMENT - What a bunch of baloney! Meredith can't prove Christ used him in anyway. And if Christ was using him, then why didn't Christ use him to save God's Ambassador College and the Worldwide Church of God?

To boast his Ambassador College experience being Chancellor at the three campuses is a joke! Ah, planet earth to the Rod of God, no one gives a rats ass! Ambassador College is long gone; kaput; nadda; zippo; doesn't exist anymore; irrelevant.

And the same Christ he claims uses him couldn't use him to save God's own College paid for by the dumb sheep tithe slaves?

So the question I have for the Rod of God is whose Christ is more powerful? The Rod of God's Christ who Meredith claims uses him but can't use Meredith to save God's College as we all use to call it? OR, the multi-millionaire little Joey Tkach's Christ who claims Christ used him to transform his Church?

Personally, I don't think Christ uses any of these idiots.

  9. Richard, God didn't use any of the apostles of old to save the temple or the church from a great apostasy in their times either.
False apostles and prophets are predicted to get worse and worse as time goes by.
The truth of God never changes even if the men associated with it go off into la-la land.

  10. So what is "the work" these fools are always rambling on about. They are arrogant pigs who drove some children in the WCOG to suicide through their mind control tactics. And it was all so these fool leaders could feel powerful. By the way, I am starting the FWCOG (Feminist World-changing Church of Godesses). I will be chief Goddess and only women will be in high places of authority, while men change the diapers. Women will be encouraged to wear a lot of make-up and tight clothes (Kardashian style). Children absolutely WILL NOT BE HIT! modern methods of behavioral management will be taught to parents. Positive reinforcement, natural consequences, and a consistent, loving, non-punitive parenting style will be encouraged. No more old, white, "Christian" men will be in control. Obama will be strongly supported, with the possible exception of the drones.

  11. Where will all these children come from in FWCOG? I didn't think feminists believed in heterosexuality.

  12. G.G., you almost had me until you threw in the Obama thing. Sorry, but taxes are no better than tithes...

However, if you ladies promise to SPANK us men regularly, I might be tempted to reconsider.

  13. Feminists are ok with heterosexuality as long as the female is in charge, which she (I) will be in the FEMINIST WORLD-CHANGING CHURCH OF GODESSES! (FWCOG) This will be the "one true church." How do I know? I am to be chief Godesses and the Godess has the truth. why does she have the truth? She is the Godess. Don't question authority. That would be blasphemy or heresy or some such thing. G.G. To answer a question, will be NO spanking----ever! The old WCOG did enough of that to last forever, if the literature is correct. It led to suicide among your (WCOG) children, all to make adult losers (church leaders) feel powerful.

  14. All this emphasis on ordination makes no sense. Anyone can get ordained online any time they want to. Or, they can form an organization and take on ordained status at the drop of the proverbial hat.

When I decided to do wedding ceremonies, I found an interfaith group that accepted all my college credits, since Ambassador had achieved accreditation by then, and only had to complete a few things with them to be ordained so I could legally do weddings in Arizona.

After that, I found the magic of online ordination, for free or a small fee, and realized I also could have proclaimed myself ordained and created my own credentials and no one would have ever questioned it.

All this aura of authority is just smoke and mirrors. Thiel has just as much legitimacy as Meredith or anyone else -- none in my eyes. Do you think the proclamation of the new pope impresses me? Dream on.

According to what I remember of the New Testament, questions about Jesus authority kept coming up too. Over-emphasis on "authority" is nothing new.

  15. So, when RCM passes away, how many more splinter groups will result when disgruntled "Presiding Evangelist Wannabes" are disappointed? Who will win the "sweepstakes" and who will leave?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well G.G., people like you are the reason millions of men REFUSE to ever get married, why Westerners have a negative birth rate, and why White Civilization will be gone in about 50 years. There are already more non-White babies born in the USA than Whites. Our demise is sealed in the demographic stats.

  17. I sort of miss the "Pastor General" title idea.

    Very military, very masculine.

It was always my hope that there would be various ranks and grades to this, from General on down.

Thus one could be a "Pastor Master Sergeant"

    Or "Pastor Corporal" or even...

    "Pastor Buck Private"

    Joe Moeller
    Cody, WY
    "Pastor Chief Petty Officer"

  18. It's tempting to take the same view of these guys as the general public once did towards Mafia members: 1) You can't really believe any of them, and 2) It doesn't matter what they do to each other so long as they don't hurt innocent bystanders.

  19. I'm with Allen Dexter, why be just a lowly church member when you can just go down to the county registrars office and be officially ordained and recognized by the state? You will then have just as much authority as anybody else who claims to be a representative of God - even the Pope.

True, you will only be a name on a page in a book but that's all any of them are...but it's legal! Of course, there is a fee...mine was $2. back in 1980 but there it is in book 4, on page 377 at the White County, Arkansas courthouse register.

  21. " Has there EVER been an appointed prophet in the COGs?"

Nope. Armstrong himself said there were no prophets yet, but Joel 2:28 coming to pass would be a sign of the end.

At least, that's what the Church taught when I was growing up.

  22. "I sort of miss the "Pastor General" title idea."

Official party line of the Church is, "[Junior] calls himself the President, he isn't the Pastor General anymore"

Meanwhile the tax slips, signed by none other than Junior himself, say PASTOR GENERAL.

  23. "It was always my hope that there would be various ranks and grades to this, from General on down.

Ewww. Not me. The hierarchy is part of everything that's wrong with COGs. The more levels you create, the more you'll foster and abet the ladder-climbers. There are already too many ranks as it is.

When it came time for Meredith to stand up for God, for God's people, for "God's Church" and for "God's College", what did he do? He sat in his lazy chair, taking a big fat WCG evangelist's salary for doing absolutely nothing. Tkach bribed him while Tkach was garnering his forces. For 3 years and 3 months Meredith sat silent when God's people needed him the most! No speaking, no writing, no teaching, no pastoring. Even after 39 months, he didn't quit, he got fired. How much longer would he have sat quietly while Tkach destroyed everything? Maybe he would still be there today. When it comes to personal income or serving God's people, Meredith has shown where his loyalties are.

  25. G. G. said... So what is "the work" these fools are always rambling on about.
Interesting. RCM is always talking about "the work", "the work of God", but I have NEVER heard him define it. It is just assumed that LCG is doing it, and doing it better than everyone else. The reality is LCG is NOT doing the work of God. Their mission is to preach the gospel to the world as a witness, which is something Jesus never commanded us to do. I challenge anyone to show that RCM has the slightest intention of doing the Great Commission of Matthew 28. So, LCG is working their tail off in vain, doing something Jesus never told us to do, and not doing what Jesus told us to do.
