Poor Dave Pack. God's greatest human to ever live on the face of the earth and the greatest Church of God leader in human history just cannot seem to get things to go his way all the time.
Dave has bragged and boasted over and over these past few years about how attractive his church is to those disillusioned in other splinter groups. Dave has actively sought to poach people to come over to the dark side. A few prominent LCG and UCGers have went to him. From various reports most of those men have have had to be reeducated into the TRUE beliefs of the Restored Church of God. Some make it, most you never hear from again.
Dave was able to poach from Ron Weinland's cult a minister named Adrian Gray when Ron was convicted of his theft of tithe money for personal uses. Dave hyperventilated on his score.
Now it seems that Dave Pack is being humiliated just like Ron Weinlend is. Ron lost his mother and sister this past week and Dave lost Adrian Gray.
Adrian has sent a letter to the members of Ron Weinland's group.
The letter is posted at Don't Drink the Flavor Aid, the best site out there on corrupt Ron Weinland and his cult.
Hello to PKG Members,
I understand that a considerable number of you are looking into leaving PKG after Pentecost, with this in mind I need to retract a recommendation I made to you about Restored Church of God.
Nearly one year ago I sent a letter to a number of you, in it I strongly recommended The Restored Church of God as a church that God is working through his ministry. After attending, listening and watching I have come to the conclusion that just as there are members with Gods spirit in PKG there are also members in Restored with Gods spirit.
But I do have to retract my recommendation to go to Restored, as there are a number of things that do not sit right. Mr Packs focus on members is to get as much cash from them as possible, he uses not going to the place of safety and hellfire for those who do not give all, and laying up your reward in heaven for those who do give all. A small portion of what I heard:
Any one that was baptized in PKG did not have a valid baptism. I know of one ex PKGer that that went to Restored was not allowed to keep Passover as he was baptized in PKG.
- Take out a mortgage on your house and send the cash in to Restored.
- Time is short sell your assets and send in the cash
- Have fundraising events and send in the cash.
- 1st, 2nd, and third tithe, all on the gross.
They have what they call a splinter pack for any one coming out of a cog. It is several hundred pages of reading and many hours of sermons, you have to then be in full agreement with it all before attending services. It is mainly pre 86 worldwide teachings with a few changes, this is a type of indoctrination that slowly draws you in, but once in you see it isn’t like worldwide was nor are some of the teachings. But for most that get to this point it is to late as their minds have been conditioned to D Packs teachings.
Most doctrine is as taught in Worldwide under Mr Armstrong, but not all. Changes are classed as new understanding. (present truth type of situation) A lot of mind control takes place, as one ex Philadelphian member said:: this lot are tougher than in Philadelphia under Flurry. Never having been in Philadelphia I cannot say if that remark was accurate or not but I would not be surprised if it was.
As you may have guessed by now, my wife and I resigned our membership in Restored and are no longer members of that church.
In conclusion I would say that for those of you looking to move on, please take a long hard look at whoever you are going to. (do not just give up, God is still doing a work in many of you) This in no ways negates what I said about R Weinland being a false prophet, it just means D Pack is another wolf in sheep’s clothing to watch out for.
Wishing you all the best.
Adrian Gray.

David Pack is all about money. Money makes his world go around. Money busy him his fancy cars and expensive suits. It keeps him and his child bride in the laps of luxury. It impresses the fools in Wadsworth who think David is something of significance.
ReplyDeleteI drove through Wadsworth on the way home from my mom's funeral. Didn't see any sign of Dave. No one knew him at the gas station. Wadsworth is pretty darn small. There are a gazillion churches in the area

CliffNotes version:
ReplyDeleteAs you may have guessed, part of the terms of Dave's hiring me was that I was kinda forced to send a letter to everyone in my rolodex containing mostly boilerplate written by Dave, but with my name at the bottom. Now that I'm not beholden to Dave anymore, I can set things right with all my old friends, because probably every one of them thought I was crazy for sending that first letter anyway, although now I can see how crazy I actually was to be taken in by Dave in the first place. Come to think of it, I've been taken in two world-class buffoons in a row! How embarrassing is that? Obviously my judgment is a little off. And by a little, I mean by 180°. In conclusion I would say that for those of you looking to move on, please don't follow my example, instead take a long hard look at whoever you are going to. But whatever you do, don't give up on Armstrongism! Ron and Dave might be filthy cheats, but Herbie was the real deal. I think my judgment of people's character is pretty good eventually...
if that is you Mr. G I honor your journey. We all have a story. That is yours, I have mine but we learn as we go. If that is not you, I may have missed the point of Cliffnotes: lol

How many times do these poor people need to be victimized before they learn the truth? And what is the truth? That you can't trust _anybody_, and stop trusting yourself and your own judgment. We are all easily fooled. If any of us who are "God's people" are really guided by the spirit why do we keep falling for cheats when people in the world can smell these con artists from a mile away?
ReplyDeleteCliff says: But whatever you do, don't give up on Armstrongism! Ron and Dave might be filthy cheats, but Herbie was the real deal. I think my judgment of people's character is pretty good eventually...
ReplyDeleteYour wrong about that too. HWA was a cheat and child molester. I can prove it!
Click on my name above.

ReplyDeleteLook. God called Mary to be His own daughter in his Family. Yet He did not hesitate to impregnate her with His Son, even after she was betrothed to another man.
If even God Himself commits incest with His own daughter, and has sex with another man's wife, it's not reasonable to forbid HWA and GTA from having the same prerogative as God's special end-time servants.

ReplyDeleteWow man, you are starting to think like a COG leader. The main qualification is a sense of entitlement. You have to believe in yourself! That your calling is special. What are you going to name your church?
What are you going to name your church?

Referring back to Adrian Gray's defection from RCG, and his continued recognition of Ron Weinland as a false prophet, what else could we say, but, "ain't it a gas?" Inhale the swamp gas, Dave Baby. There's gonna be lots more to come!

"If that is not you, I may have missed the point of Cliffnotes."
ReplyDelete"Your wrong about that too. HWA was a cheat and child molester. I can prove it!"
CliffNotes a summarization of something longer into something shorter. If nothing else, referring to HWA as "Herbie" should have tipped people off to the sarcasm and non-authenticity. Well, of course Herbie was a cheat, and a child molester too. Sorry, I guess I was too subtle.
I guess the purpose of this particular CliffNotes version was to illustrate how controlling cults are like a drug in that they impair a persons judgment. To an outside observer, poor Mr. Gray's judgment is obviously impaired by the effects of Armstrongism, but he is too far under the influence, so he's incapable of judging just how drunk he really is.
If he can (eventually) correctly identify Ron and Dave as being the frauds and hucksters they so obviously are, why is it so unthinkable to him (and others like him) that Herbie was also a fraud and a huckster? Since these men are trying so hard to imitate Herbie, why is it so unimaginable that they could be imitating Herbie even when it comes to their more objectionable traits? Why is it so hard to see that the problems with PKG and RCG run deeper than just a couple of bad apples? Why is it so hard to fathom that no god was ever "working through" Herbie's "ministry" and that no god has ever been "working through" the "ministries" of any of the splinter groups either?
No matter how bad things get they always confine the problem and assume it's just a local problem, never a systematic one. WCG skated through so many crises, disasters, and fiascos because people refused to see that, in churchie lingo, bad fruit doesn't come from good trees. To this day, people still refuse to see the systematic nature of what's wrong with the COGs, and that the single biggest thing that was wrong was HERBIE!
What's next for poor Mr. Gray? Finding another dealer/supplier to get his next Herbie fix? Rewriting the same lesson one more time? That's where my money would be.
It's a shame that it took Mr. Gray this long to find out about DP. His "sermons" have been on the Net for years. Pack wants everyone to believe that everyone else is a liar except him. He is all about controlling reality whether it is true or false. Unfortunately, too many have gotten caught up in his web of mind control.
ReplyDeleteGray knows that the best way to start a new church is to have the appearance of lost sheep in need of a shepherd. That way, he can play the role of the reluctant leader, "just trying to fill the void" until Christ's return. Brilliant. Look for yet another permutation of premillennial dispensationalism (no, they are NOT non-denominational).
ReplyDeleteBad PK
Is there anything more evil in religion , ok yes there is..lol, but...than a so called minister asking for money and sacrifice to him so he can live as he does and pump his ego? This compares to the Sermon on the Mount how? Oh...Dave never gave a sermon on the mount. He gives sermons on the AMOUNT! lol
ReplyDeleteDennis Diehl
"I drove through Wadsworth.... No one knew him at the gas station."
ReplyDeleteBut did you describe him as the skinny guy with floppy ears who wears short shorts 3 sizes too small so he can show off his 'package'?
If you'd asked the proper questions at the gas station, Goober might have told you, "Oh! Yeah, that's the guy we all call Dumbo!"
I find it hard to believe that Mr. Gray didn't know a lot of this information that he "discovered" about DP before he went with him. It's been public information on the RCG site for several years. Mr. Gray now maybe you see why many of us left RCG a long time ago. DP has only gotten worse.
