In the typical COG fashion, Rod Meredith has not let a crisis go by unused. Apparently killing little children and blowing the legs of countless people is what this country deserves. Its no wonder that so many look at Armstrongism now as one sick aberration.
From his latest "love letter" to his membership:
................For the world needs what we have to give, and each one of us should be inspired to do our part in the most momentous time in human history. May God help you to sincerely try to give your life in His service and to be worthy to play your part in the coming Kingdom of God to be set up on this earth under Jesus Christ as King of kings.
With Christian love,
Roderick C. Meredith
P.S. My friends, just as I was finishing writing this letter, news came of the terrible attack at the Boston Marathon. So far, we know that at least three people were killed and over 175 were seriously injured. It was obviously a terrorist attack—involving either homegrown or international terrorism. But the lesson we need to think about here is that we have warned you again and again that—unless America and the British-descended peoples turn to the God of the Bible, He will severely punish our peoples for our own good. Almighty God warned our forefathers—as I have cited many times—“But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it” (Leviticus 26:14-16). The Hebrew word “terror” can well be translated “terrorism”! And the wasting diseases such as AIDS, cancer and related diseases are certainly beginning to strike down our people with increasing frequency. Yet we have not repented! The God of the Bible seems “far off” to most people. But He will get their attention as these various attacks and calamities will come upon us with increasing frequency unless we begin to realize why things are all “going wrong” for the United States and the British-descended peoples—the peoples who were given the opportunity to send out more Bibles, more missionaries and medical workers than any peoples on earth. We have had much of the knowledge of God. But we have now forsaken our Creator by our actions and our “lawless” acts even in condoning “same-sex marriage”! We are showing Almighty God personally and officially how we “despise” His statutes and His Ten Commandments. May God help us to wake up and realize why these disasters are happening and turn back to the God of the Bible!
Why does every single letter he writes have to involve sex and gays?
"For the world needs what we have to give..."
ReplyDeleteAnd what is that exactly?
A pharisaical, condemning, judgmental, holier-than-thou attitude? Gloom and doom passed off as "good news"? A set of trite, vacuous religious catchphrases, strung together to form sermons and booklets which you have trouble giving away for free?
Death from wars and violence have been steadily decreasing since the end of WWII, when 80 million Christians died in a war whipped up and instigated by the Zionist news media and their puppet leaders.
ReplyDeleteWhy does every single letter he writes have to involve sex and gays?
ReplyDeleteOut of the abundance of the closet the mouth speaks?
Guess I need to move to Canada where all the perfect people live and who will not suffer when the crap hits the fan.
ReplyDeleteWhy does every single letter he writes have to involve sex and gays?
ReplyDeleteWhy does every single letter he writes have to involve God killing innocent people to make a point that nobody gets except for Rod?
"All Jews are Israelites but all Israelites are not Jews", remember that? Well, it's bullshit. The word "Jew" comes from the word Judaism which is the name given to the religion of the people in Judea.
Also, for those followers of Armstrongism, Assyria destroyed those "lost ten tribes" and they are not hiding out disguised as Brits and Americans. Assyria itself was destroyed and its people are few with no country of their own today. They did not even begin to migrate into Europe until the mid 20th century. IOW, they ain't Germany! Get over it.
It's weird I watched the movie "Four Lions" (2010) for the second time last weekend and it was funnier the second time. If I was still a COG'er i probably would have thought God was punishing the 'innocents' to correct 'my' attitude. Suicide bombers are not supposed to be funny
ReplyDeletebut they are if you see this film.
Squat Jogs?!?! LOL

Yes, yet again the United States is being punished for the sins of Roderick Meredith.
ReplyDeleteIf only he would quit lying that the United States is descended from a [non] lost tribe of Israel, things would get better in this country.
[/sarcasm]

ReplyDeleteBecause Rod et al.'s god is a non-omnipotent, anthropomorphic creature invented by a bronze age culture, much like the Olympian gods, who reacts not like a loving father as so often claimed but rather like a spoiled, unfeeling despot. This disconnect in their theology is blaringly obvious to any of us who step outside the field of reverence.
So Meredith uses a disaster of murdered people for self promotion.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sick evil.
So every time Meredith writes, there's always a reference on gays, thanks for info. I second the motion that out of the closet of what's deep down there in his heart, his mouth speaks. Talk about suppressed emotions, dammed feelings, and imprisoned desires. Even just for once, he should try it just to get over the feeling rather than letting this hidden desire engulf his every thought that eventually reveals itself in many ways. No matter how you dam the water, it will always find ways to seek its own level.

ReplyDelete"Didn't HWA use the death (unnecessary death) of his wife Loma for his own selfish purposes?"
ReplyDeleteYes. Herbert Armstrong raged against members, comparing them to the blockage in his wife Loma's colon.
Perhaps in the distant future, the UCG will correctly refer to Herbert Armstrong as a "blockage" and a "human turd"!

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of a lesson is that from Rod, "the Rod?"
That sounds like Adam blaming God for the sin that had occurred in his life!
When is Rod going to wake up to the fact that American and British peoples cannot repent any more than ancient physical Israel could. Why not? Here's what God said:
"Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day." Deut 29:4
So, why would God punish, when if that verse were true, God already knows repentance is impossible...unless and until the day comes that God grants one that repentance/change in their lives.
Also, since Rod, continues to blame flesh and blood, he cannot teach/believe the following scripture:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph 6:12
God can't believe that part of the written Word of God, because if he did believe it, and he continues to blame human beings (and God, of all things) for the terrorism, then he, Rod, would just be exposed as a hypocrit...

Hey John, why do you always insist on double-posting your incomprehensible religious rants? Do you think this will somehow make folks any more likely to actually read them than if you posted them just once? Personally, I've come to learn from experience that all I need to see is the name "John" along with all the Bible quotes, and I just pass right over your comment because I know there will be absolutely NOTHING of any real value in it. Your reputation as a mindless religious fanatic proceeds you, good Sir.

Since you will see name of John at the bottom you may not even read this, but for those who wondered the same thing you asked about:
First of all, I don't always insist on double-posting.
Yes, it has happened on occasion and usually it is because after I "depress" that "Publish your comment" box the comment I intended to send does not show itself. I have assumed that the reply never got sent, so I attempt to send it a second time.
Well, I guess I can grow and overcome, can't I? I can repent, can't I?
Your comment is a valid one, and I will exercise more patience in the future and wait a longer time period before resending...and double-check to see if it got posted later.
You won't be seeing anymore double-postings from me henceforth.
Have a delightful Sabbath.
John
John, it's true that when we used to hit the "Publish Your Comment" that our comments would immediately be published and appear on the screen. But about two weeks ago the webmaster decided to screen the comments first (hence the "Comment moderation has been enabled - all comments must be approved by the blog author" message below) and this explains the delay until he can find the time to review them and get them out on-line. I'm sure he must have a good reason for doing this. So the double-postings become more understandable.
ReplyDeleteLeonardo; John was very kind to you in his answering of your unkind remarks to him. He also explained his reason of why the double post which you could have asked him about thinking maybe there is a good reason, but you chose rather to jump all over him in your self righteous insensitivity. How do you like it?
