Herbert Armstrong's Tangled Web of Corrupt Leaders

The Bob Thiel Amateur Hour

The non-ordained self-appointed prophet Bob Thiel has been attempting to set himself up as a legitimate leader of the one and only end time True work.  So far he has made himself out to be a laughing stock in the Church of God.  Between Bob and Dave Pack it is hard to tell who is the biggest buffoon.

COG members have found no creditability in his self appointed prophet status.  No minister ordained him to that rank let alone ordain him as a prophet.  In the COG chain of command no man non-ordained can be in charge of any Church of God. Non-ordained church leaders are always under the authority of the church leader they are under.  Bob is not under anyone because he set himself in that position.

Bob's latest PATHETIC video is out.  He starts out by mocking Dave Pack's grandiose self opinion. Thiel mumbles, bumbles and stumbles trying to read Pack's info.  He stutters, has difficulty speaking, and has long periods of silence between his words.  In addition to that, the belching and snorting evil spirit seems to be back disrupting his video.  After he tries to discredit Pack he launches into the grandiose things his small group is supposedly doing.  Thiel thinks he is doing a better work than Pack. He says there is no other work doing the work besides his.  Only if the other COG's repent can they possibly do a work.

The crooked bookcases are still there with books in disarray.  Knobs stick out beside his head, flailing wrists, constantly looking left to his computer screen, and other distractions add no credibility to his Prophet status, especially  when it looks like he is sitting on the floor filming these videos. Certainly there is no "Ambassador Quality" present.

  2. Look, I can be sympathetic to the fact that Thiel has a child with a handicap.

But allowing him to make strange noises on his broadcasts is bizarre. They just randomly happen on his broadcast and the viewer has no understanding what the heck it is. Yes, it does sound "demonic" and weird, and has got to have most people viewing it asking perplexing questions.

Is it impossible for Bob to have any privacy at all? Cant he have his son at least stay in a back room somewhere? Business suites can be rented for as little as $35 dollars a day, (conference room type things). It would afford Thiel a better looking environment and privacy.

I actually used to be in the same congregation as Thiel. I know intimately what he looks like in person. With that said, I would like to ask the readers here a survey question...

Is Bob Thiel wearing makeup on his videos?

    My vote is for yes.

  3. In my line of work, we sometimes use an online program that allows us (with the customer's permission) to get into their computer and our program, to monitor their moves which might have caused error, and to make corrections.

I wonder what we might encounter if one could do the same thing mentally, ie, monitor some of these people's minds. What mental processes are leading to these ridiculous and ineffective actions on the part of some who now believe they are prophets or apostles? To what extent is God involved, and how do they approach Him and seek to respond? How do they end up being so ridiculously bogus?

The Thielian sound effects are indeed an additional enigma. It makes about as much sense as ruining a good song like "Hooked on a Feeling" by adding a bunch of "oogah chuckahs" in the background. Kind of makes you go huh the first time you hear it, but wears awfully thin a few minutes into the song (or message).

P.S. Where are the teenagers in Thiel's congregation? Shouldn't they be slowing down and speeding up the belching and farting noises or playing them backwards to discover secret messages?

  4. Bob:

The actual lyric is officially spelled "ooga-CHAKA"

    GET IT RIGHT! LOL!

I actually bought the 1973 Blue Swede version on a "45", and I like it , ooga-chaka and all! Listen here...

But life is about choices, and for those who do not care for the deep , profound and meaningful ooga-chakas they can always listen to the BJ Thomas version which actually predated Blue Swede's, without the ooga-chakas being released in 1969...

(said with my echo mike on and big boss radio voice)...

YESSS! ITS HIGH FI, STEREOPHONIC , QUADROSOUUUUUND , 50 Thousand Watt UNDERGROUND BANNED K-H-W-A, playing you those "OLDIES YOU WANT TO FORGET, BUT WE WONT LET YOU", with ME, your wannabe DJ...

  5. "It makes about as much sense as ruining a good song like "Hooked on a Feeling" by adding a bunch of "oogah chuckahs" in the background."

But I thought the background "oogah chuckahs" MADE it a more likeable song.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about this, and hopefully Jesus will give us the "OOGAH CHUCKAH Truth" about it in The Kingdom.

Or perhaps, some spirit filled Christians will be able to inform us now.

  6. Bob Thiel, in case you have your head stuck in the sand surely you must realize there are many other churches who are also using all means of modern communications to spread their version of the Gospel messages, many doing so more efficiently and successfully than you could ever do in a million years. If you really think you are the only one announcing the true Gospel then you are a false prophet and delusional, and in need of some serious help. It's that simple. Besides you contradict yourself every time you take a verse out of the Bible. True Christians who hold real faith in Jesus never had and never will say they need to belong to your church to be saved.

  7. I tried, God knows I tried to listen, but then I killed myself

  8. I noticed that his week old videos have around a hundred views and older ones a few hundred. For the average Joe I suppose that is fine, but this is supposed to be a dynamic end time work of God?

  9. The bad thing about youtube is the viewing statistics are right there next to every video. There's no chance to inflate those numbers to make you seem more important than you really are. He should think about getting his own website so that he can puff up his claims (lie) about how many are viewing his videos. All the other COG leaders are doing it.

The only other thing I am waiting for from "non-ordained" Bob Thiel is the announcement that he has found it necessary to "ordain" someone.

  10. In other news, more prophesies today by apostle Malm about the world coming to an end later this year...

  11. I really feel sorry for Bob Thiel. Apart from being so delusional, he is not even obeying the teachings of Jesus Christ and his apostles. He should especially read the words of Paul since Bob clearly hasn't a clue what a true Christian is. Instead Bob spends all his time pretending he is a Jew when he is not. Bob is one sad and lost person.

  12. As much as I hate to hear Pack's voice and all his bragging....he is light years ahead of Thiel. He has in place the "tools" that he thinks he needs to do the work. I guess he has at least 10 times as many people with him too. Thiel you are an absolute laughing stock and make the COG look like kooks. I would have kicked your ass out of LCG along time ago!

  13. Not sure which is worse. Bob's waving hands of hysteria about how he is cleverer than all of them, or Dave's thumping screaming fits of rage warning we are all doomed.

Official Transcript: “The Final Phase of the Work”
    Dr. Bob Thiel

    (00:00:00 through 00:01:00)

Greetings, friends around the world, this is Dr. Bob Thiel from the Continuing Church o’ God, and today I’d like to cover a subject (mmmmmrrruh) I’ve been hoping to do for quite some time (bprrrrpptt), and that is to talk about what I’ve. . .named. . .(hhhmmMMM?) the final phase of the work. The Continuing Church o’ God believes its top priority is to fulfill Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19 through 20. And these are all parts of the phase of the work (prratttb). But what is this final phase (prrrt…brrrt…prrrt), is this something you want to be part of, are there dangers associated with the final phase of the work (mmmwwWHOOOOOOOP!), and what should you do if you wish to support it?

Now as far as what the work (hmmm-mmumm) go-- is, I’d like to read Herbert Armstrong’s definition of the work of the church. Herbert Armstrong, um. . .preached and was (week-uh-week-uh-WEEK) probably the most effective (weege-uh-WEEGE-uh). . .most effective Church of God minister. . .uh. . .in centuries and came out in the twenty-- twentieth century specif. . .specifically. And here’s what he wrote to answer the question (burrrEEEuh), just what is the work? (brrggttuh)
