Bob Thiel, the non-ordained self-appointed false prophet of the Continuing Ed Church of God is back jumping to conclusions about his magical god today.
Thiel thinks that the heat wave that hit the US this weekend was god being really pissed that DOMA was over turned and gay couples can get married. I find that laughable for nothing more than that the ,COG's never valued the sanctity of marriage that much anyway. The Church, instigated by Rod Meredith, actively broke up thousands of loving couples because of Herb's idiotic remarriage doctrines. Then we had the ministers and ordained men hopping from bed to bed in their congregations. We had BOTH of the top church leaders having illicit sex with daughters and coed's.
Thiel writes:
A massive heat wave has hit the USA shortly after the US Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to support the homosexual agenda.
30 June 2013Temperatures in Las Vegas shot up to 115 degrees on Saturday afternoon, just two degrees shy of an all-time record, as the Desert Southwest continued to stagger under a relentless heat wave…Large swaths of California sweltered under extreme heat warnings, which are expected to last into Tuesday night — and maybe even longer.
In Southern California, Palm Springs peaked at 122 while the mercury in Lancaster set a record at 111, according to the L.A. Times…
Phoenix hit 119 by mid-afternoon, breaking the record for June 29 that was set in 1994. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/06/29/heat-west-temperature-record-high/2475701/
Could the extreme weather be at all related to the growing legal acceptance of homosexual marriage and other abominations in the USA?If you are going to attribute the heat to a magical god then perhaps the blame needs to be directed to towards the false prophets Gerald Flurry and Dave Pack who have lied through their teeth lately and who preach heretical bullshit. I think God is more pissed at that than the gay couple down the street who have been together for 27 years getting married.
LOL, oh my. The ancient Hebrew weather god strikes again! I should have known to expect a heat wave because of the failing of DOMA, instead of because it's SUMMER in the middle of a DESERT!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what those fine folks in Phoenix did wrong in June of 1994 to bring on that heat wave? Just because it's hot here in L.A. at about 100 degrees, that's an average sort of temperature for Phoenix. Come to think of it, I'll bet the entire great southwest desert must be so hot and dry since prehistoric times, not because of the jet stream, the coreolis effect, etc., but because even stone-age era people have been screwing up and dishonoring the ancient middle eastern weather god here worse than in other places. But wait a minute--the middle east is one big desert too! Well, as morals go downhill, expect more heat, more floods, more tornados and more earthquakes, all in their respective geographical locations and seasons. Don't get me wrong, the ancient middle eastern weather god is powerful, but not powerful enough to put a tornado through L.A. Too bad. We'll just have to settle for earthquakes and heat.
Also, I think the weather god didn't stage things correctly. He should have saved up some really bad weather to use when we're especially bad. But he didn't. So now that we've sunk to deeper depths of depravity than ever before, all he can do is just continue to throw the worst at us that he's got, which actually isn't all that bad usually. Poor little weather god. He must be really pissed that he can't get our attention with his weather. Maybe he should learn to speak English, or, for that matter, any human language? Someday he's going to have to learn that weather isn't a very good tool for communication.
Come to think of it, why is Prophet Bob even so loyal to such a wimpy weather god? There's got to be tons of more powerful mythological gods out there to place your bets on, amirite?
Correlation does not imply causation. Even scientists can fall prey to this fallacy. You've presented no evidence the Supreme Court either directly or indirectly caused this heat wave. Try again.
ReplyDeleteHomosexuals and the DOMA act were certainly not on my mind as I attempted to deal with this weekend's heat. Basically, all I knew was that with a temperature of 119 my AC unit stayed on constantly in spite of some strategic reroutimg of some of the exit grates, adding a fan to the intake, and usage of ceiling fans. Oh, and my pool was like a hot tub until about midnight. Sheesh. Damn near killed me to get on my roof to trim a palm tree that had gone to seed and was littering my yard and the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThiel is ridiculous. Did he honestly believe that the DOMA act would keep men with a penis fetish from finding penises to play with? Or, prevent counterpart for females? Were Thiel's punishment speculations based on reality, San Francisco would be suffering every plague, disaster, and disease known to man! When is he going to get past the clichés and share with us some really inspired stuff? This dude is just wasting our time and insulting the intelligence of anyone with an IQ over 100. And, he's supposed to be a doctor!

Could the extreme weather be at all related to the growing legal acceptance of homosexual marriage and other abominations in the USA?
ReplyDeleteUm...no. Otherwise, we need some kind of explanation for the record breaking heat wave for Arkansas in 2012.
Let's face it, sometimes it just gets really hot in the summertime.
According to the Holy Spirit, acceptance of gay marriage is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteSo, why grieve the Holy Spirit, Bob Thiel?
BT asks..

No...

That Father, Son and Holy Spirit threesome can be a bit of a disturbing concept. Where's the mom, wife or woman in all this?
Critical thinking is not one of the COG's strong points. Correlation is not causation.
ReplyDeleteNow, if this heat wave happened at Xmas, or we had massive blizzards on the 4th of July, then I would be impressed!

I'd like to put out an urgent prayer request for our Arizona firefighters and their families. I know that there are a lot of believers who read and contribute here, and this is something that even people who normally can't pray for people outside of their church can participate in, because our firefighters fall into the category of public officials, for whom we are exhorted to pray.
ReplyDeleteOver the weekend, in a sudden wind shift, 19 highly trained firefighters didn't quite have enough time to get fully into their protective cocoons, and they were killed by the raging inferno that enveloped them. They were part of an elite group of specialists, but had nowhere to go to escape. A twentieth man survived, but has suffered extensive burns. This happened while they were trying to bring the wilderness fire near Yarnell under control. Yarnell is a small town populated mostly by rural folk and retirees. Half the homes in that community have been lost to the fire.
I would ask that you pray for the safety of those fighting the fire, as well as for the families of those who lost their lives. Many of these guys were young guys with wives and children. Sincere thanks, in advance, for your prayers on their behalf.

If God sent lightning bolts and wiped out the entire Supreme Court, he might have a point, but that did not happen. Where I live in Minnesota, in winter it can be minus -40 degrees. pre Supreme Court decision.
ReplyDeleteOh for heaven's sake! Is he for real?! I for 1 would be LOVING the heat wave! I seriously hate the cold and much prefer the tropical summer heat to the cold and wet winters any day! I say the hotter the better! I love going out and checking out "d laydees" showing a bit of skin during those lazy hazy days of summer! So in my book the heatwave wouldn't be a curse but a blessing! If you Americans can't handle the heat please send some of it our way down south in the land down under! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway what Thiel claims is why I'm seriously starting to question the necessity of keeping the 7th day Sabbath as HWA, his COGs and the SDA teach. If in the OT God sent His prophets who would prophesy correction in the form of natural disasters or captivity if the Israelites or Jews wouldn't repent and keep the Sabbath holy then WHY since the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD hasn't God sent His apostles or prophets like then to warn the Jews or Xians let alone everyone else and to correct them for their 24/7/365 day lifestyle??!! I believe that the 2 Witnesses will preach the gospel which will be transmitted all over the globe prior to Christ's return so we'll see I hope some measure of consensus in doctrine at that time. It seems though that HWA molded himself on the OT prophets seeing he warned doom to America and yet his predictions never came to pass, not while he was alive nor immediately thereafter! So it makes one question the authenticity and legitimacy of his "ministry"!
Btw re BB's news flash we heard about this tragedy yesterday and it's very sad. Seeing the pictures of these courageous young men leaving families and young children behind is very depressing. One of them was only a baby himself at 19 I think and wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. I can only say a small prayer for them that they are resting in the peace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and that He will give their loved ones strength for the days ahead and they will derive some measure of peace and comfort from memories of those they loved and lost.
I'd like to put out a prayer request to thank the US Supreme Court members who overturned the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and their families.

With so many hateful ignorant people against their decision (many carrying guns), this was truly a courageous and Holy Spirit inspired decision they made!
