Anyone who dares question or criticize the Living Church of God is an agent of Satan? Who knew!
Dealing with Adversaries: Periodically, critics and adversaries rise up to attack God’s Work, God’s people and the ministry by hurling criticism, spreading rumors, lies and half-truths and doing whatever they can to foster doubt and division. However, God’s people need to understand—it comes with the territory! Long ago, Solomon wrote, “an ungodly man [or woman] digs up evil, and it is on his lips like a burning fire” (Proverbs 16:27). Solomon also observed, “The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles” (Proverbs 18:8)—however, this is a poor diet that eventually produces a sick and angry mind. Persecution has dogged God’s people down through the ages. Joseph was imprisoned on false charges (Genesis 39). Angry religious leaders plotted against Jeremiah and determined to “attack him with the tongue.” Yet, God told Jeremiah, “They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you” (Jeremiah 18:18; 1:19). Jesus had to endure mocking and vehement accusations by civil and religious leaders who wanted to destroy His ministry (Luke 23:10-11). Stephen was accused by false witnesses (Acts 6:11-13). The Apostle Paul had to deal with people who “spoke evil of the Way” (Acts 19:9), and Peter warned that false teachers who have gone astray would “speak evil of things they do not understand” (2 Peter 2:12). Critics and adversaries seldom realize that when they spread criticism, accusations and lies, they become agents in Satan’s hands to destroy the Work of God (see John 8:44; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9-10). As God’s people, we need to reflect on these biblical examples and remember that wise people don’t believe everything they hear or read on the Internet. If someone is troubled by something, wise people seek accurate information from trustworthy sources.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail
In Armstrongism, there is no such thing as "constructive" criticism of doctrine, church policy, or the ministry. Any attempt at that, regardless of Intention or sincerity, automatically falls into the category of "rebellion" and is considered to have been inspired by Satan.
ReplyDeleteOver the years, I've noticed that senior management of the ACOGs generally will elevate lower actions in their perceived hierarchy of sin to the most serious level. This exaggeration causes more fear of the so-called authority of the ministry. When they also exaggerate the titles of their ministers, like to apostle or prophet, lesser sins or just plain simple questions become absolutely devastating.

The Bereans must have been some serious agents of Satan...
ReplyDelete"Periodically, critics and adversaries rise up to attack God’s Work, God’s people and the ministry...Critics and adversaries seldom realize that when they spread [inconvenient facts], they become agents in Satan’s hands to destroy the Work of God."
ReplyDeleteWell, I am sure this is true, for several reasons.
For starters, I am convinced that all evil is manufactured centrally, and then shipped to each person through Satan's distribution network. It's a lot more economically efficient that way, and we get to have much more evil for the same money that way. I can't think of a better arrangement.
I am equally sure that where ever god's work is, that people there are rising up and attacking it. Although the COG's aren't god's work, that doesn't mean that where ever it is, somebody's attacking it.
This god fellow, he sure needs a lot of help. He could never get his work done without an army of people to do it for him. The last thing he needs is other people getting in the way and generally making themselves a botherment.
If any of us discover where god's work is, or encounter any people who are criticizing it, I am sure everyone here will do his or her part to put a stop to it.
And now, it's time to continue the work of criticizing the silly efforts of some of the most arrogant, conceited, self-important, aggrandizing S.O.B.s on the planet as they sully Jesus' good name. Even if he wasn't a real person, I still like what he said.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha !!!
ReplyDeleteThese people don't KNOW persecution.
ReplyDeleteThey need to learn about what REAL persecution was for REAL Christians back thousands of years ago.
In our generation, people don't have to worry about every day if they walk around if they will pay for their "crime of Christianity". They don't have to worry about being beaten, mocked, slammed, spat on, declothed, debearded, or dismembered in whatever town they are going to. They don't have to worry about sitting in a court explaining their religion, or a king. They don't have to worry about being whipped, clubbed, cracked on the head, or even crucified. Upside down. Like those who REALLY suffered crucifixion had to. NONE of these things will happen to these people in their lifetime. Persecution? HA.
No, all they have to worry about is some good and detailed information getting out that would show them to be a little different then the image they aim to project. All they have to worry about is damage control or rumors. And then sitting in their nicem comfortable office chairs with full access to heat, water, power, water coolers, internet, computers, getting their money from the people THEY are suppossed to serve, in their nice comfortable suits.
Sure, Persecution! WHATEVER.
They haven't a clue.
Maybe he saw my post criticizing him for demonizing the feminist movement as being under demonic influence and insinuating that Betty Friedan was demon possessed?
ReplyDeleteUnlikely. But one can always hope.
What a pathetic immature man! If someone's criticizing me it must be Satan, he says. What a pompous idiot.
ROTFLMAO!!!!! Trustworthy people in the LCG ministry????????????
ReplyDeleteROTFLMAO!
This is typical for Winnail, who sees a Satanic conspiracy behind every little criticism. When he got the CAD job, his first action was to accuse Charles Bryce of being an agent of Satan. To recap, in 2006, after Bryce wrote a private letter to LCG HQ questioning some doctrines, LCG immediately distributed this private letter to all its elders along with LCG's rebuttal. LCG then promptly disfellowshipped and fired Bryce. A member letter from Winnail a couple days later accused Satan of attacking the church. All Bryce did was write a private letter. He never said or did anything more. The reality is that it was RCM & Winnail that caused the LCG problems. If Satan was attacking the church, it was via Meredith and Winnail.
ReplyDeleteI am the guy who was attacking the church and persecuting it...yessir, I've thrown some into prison, caused some to be stoned and all that good stuff, you know. Yep, but now I AM an apostle (trust me on that). No, wait...I AM THE apostle because those others disagree with me, me, me - you know who they are...those who call me a liar - I don't lie, I swear (trust me on that) they are persecuting me.
ReplyDeleteAnd, it's been that way ever since.
Doug Winnail's ranting about Betty Friedan came shortly after his wife divorced him. He changed his tune a few years later when she came back around and asked him to remarry her. He was so eager to take her back, that he even attended her Sunday Baptist church in order to encourage and woo her.
ReplyDeleteIf an ordinary deacon or elder had been seen worshipping in a Sunday-keeping church, he would have been thrown out of the LCG ministry. Apparently the standard is different when you are the head of the LCG ministry.
One benefit of the reconciliation and remarriage, though, was that Winnail has toned down his insane rantings against women.
